Is there any way to pair Pixel 9 to Apple watch?

My son has a Pixel 9. We'll probably switch him over to an iPhone in the future. I want to get him an Apple Watch, but only if we can pair it with his Pixel 9. From what I've read online, this is not possible with routine approaches, but I'm wondering if there's a hacky way to do it. If not, I'll probably just wait until he gets an iPhone before buying him an Apple Watch.
