Installing openssl on R

I'm trying to install openssl inside R, using install.packages('openssl'), but I'm getting an error message: * installing *source* package ‘openssl’ ... ** package ‘openssl’ successfully unpacked and MD5 sums checked Found pkg-config cflags and libs! Some help would be much appreciated! I'm running SUSE11 SP2
