How to permanently set default color of feh's background to black?

Whenever I open an image in feh, the background is set to the standard, dark gray and gray checkboard pattern like this: **As you can see, it's the checkboard background. How do I permanently change this to black?** I've search Google and other places, but I can't seem to find a straight answer. I'm **guessing feh's config file** is involved, but I can't find any examples of how to do it in the config file. I know you can do it in the command line with --bg-color black *(or something)* but I'd like to just have it set to black by default.
