weird background when neovim plugins create panels

I'm not 100% sure how to describe the problem, but there's this background color applied to the editor whenever Telescope, NerdTree, or CtrlP display. Incase it wasn't obvious [nixos is configuring neovim](https://github.com/danhab99/dotfiles/tree/448a482f06431d28f778750f86e16692451c5d7d/modules/neovim) . How do I remove this background? > *Telescope* > *NerdTree* > *Ctrl+P*
