Is Android 13 auto-disabling pseudo-uninstalling some of my games? I just installed Rainbow 6, and it didn't ask to uninstall apps to free space... I had these games working well: PUBG and Call of Duty (played it last week). Now both are grayed out on adw2launcher, I can't even open info about the game from adw2, but I can open Play Store from it. At Play Store it says the app is not installed! At appmgr3, I can see Call of Duty there, but it has no icon. Opening the info for it, it doesn't show the game name, shows just the app technical name: androidx.multidex.multidexapplication And says it is using 8.6 GB of external storage, but I can't find the files there. How can the system have app info for an app that should be installed, but it is detected as not installed? Ahhh, it is confusing... What is going on? I didn't uninstall them.... Could it be some virus? It happened to about 8 games... Ahhh... :( Any clue? Any idea? Have you seen this mess before? I didn't drop my phone on the floor... I think I will go back to pc if I can't trust Android not failing weirdly like that :( Dude, I'm lost! This makes no sense! This should be Call of Duty info: this should be Call of Duty info But clicking the storage button does nothing. Clicking the open app button, nothing happens... What is happening??? My phone got hacked??? 😭 😭 It seems to be breaking apps that are on external storage! Even if the sdcard is working well!!! Just moved GoT Kingsroad back to internal storage. It actually just moved back the app as the data is never moved to external, that is why I had to uninstall Diablo Immortal thats was using 20GB+.

Take a Note
And I dictate it. It saves it. But I haven't a clue how I can access those notes again, when I get home. Any ideas ? **Note** - It doesn't open another app. Because I invoked Google, I am sure it is saved somewhere in Google space. - I have been doing this on and off for years, as I couldn't take my hands off the wheel. But not knowing how to retrieve them. So, I don't think its the Samsung AI. - "Hey Google" is within Android Auto, so its unlikely to be Samsung.

Use a dedicated Android Auto phone without service to make a call through a secondary device with service

I make deliveries and am constantly in and out of my truck all day with my phone. I don't have wireless Android Auto and all the adapters I have tried are spotty at best. So because Android Auto did not like constant plugging and unplugging, I got a dedicated truck phone. I did originally put a plan on it and anyone I wanted to call or text I would just make sure they knew the second number was me. Well, I found out that OnStar hotspot through my truck is a lot cheaper so I canceled the plan and just run the Android Auto apps off the truck's wifi. The problem I have is now I need a way for the truck phone to make calls on my actual phone, reading and responding to messages would be cool but the work around I found was using FB messenger as my messages app on that phone. A better solution would be appreciated though. I want to be able to stay in Android auto, press the PTT button on the steeringwheel, and tell AA to call my wife and instead of giving me the "please check your phone has service" it just calls on my actual phone. Kind of like how some tablets will let you make phone calls and texts messages through your phone. I want my truck phone to be that tablet. The way I do it now is I turned off "Hey Google" on the truck phone so when I say it only my actual phone responds and I tell it what I want. It works but if there is a better solution to this very specific problem.

I have an ASUS Zenfone 8 running Android 13. When I try to use Android Auto in my car, it only works when I connect via a USB cable. My car supports wireless Android Auto and this does work with other Android phones, but no matter what I try the Zenfone just won't play ball. The phone recognises that a wireless AA connection is available and asks me to "continue on my car screen" but nothing appears on the screen. Even if I try to force a connection via the car, it just says "connection failed". The car pairs with the phone via Bluetooth no problem, but just won't launch wireless AA. As I say, it has no problem with other Android phones so this must be Zenfone specific. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have been using Android auto with my Toyota Aygo 2019 ed. until 2022 on many connected devices without any problems. I have then switched to another car and stopped using Android Auto at all. Today I have come back to my old Toyota Aygo with my new phone (Motorola Moto g84) and tried to connect Android Auto. It failed completely. My car shows: > **Android Auto**: Stop your car and park it. Continue setup on your phone. In the same time my phone shows: > **Android Auto**: You are connected to your car. That's it. The above notification and a "Disconnect" button below it. No actual Andriod Auto screen (as in case of other cars), now setup steps, PIN, pair, whatever. Nothing. When I disconnect a cable between my phone and car's USB port (required in case of Toyota Aygo, no Bluetooth-only Android Auto support) then the above notification turns into "Android Auto available. Connect your phone via cable to continue". And again there is nothing to setup, configure, pair etc. It clearly looks like my Motorola would consider a connection already established and ready to go. While my Toyota detectes it as a brand new (which is true) and waits for a configuration completion on phone side. Is there anything I can do about this?

I like to use Waze on Android Auto. I have these issues - Even though I have Waze as the first app and Maps as the last app, Google Maps invariably shows up in the first few apps. - I use Waze all the time, saying "Hey Google, take me somewhere" works most of the time. - Sometimes it launches Maps instead, even though Waze is already running. - I then say "Hey Google, use Waze to take me somewhere", this works half the time, the other half, it still uses Maps. This becomes extremely annoying when I am already driving. I have to pull over and physically reconnect the phone, sometimes I have to manually select Waze from the apps. **Is there a way to permanently remove Maps or disable it in Android Auto**

Apparently Android Auto can either use the GPS in the connected head unit or the GPS in the mobile device itself. As I understand, Android Auto will always prefer to use the GPS in the connected head unit. (which makes sense: typically has better antenna reception, doesn't drain the mobile unit's battery, etc). How can I tell which one is being used ? When the phone is in the car, I put it in "The Grotto" below the climate control and connect it via USB. I call it "The Grotto" because it is really deep and I'm thinking there's no way a GPS can reach in there. Yet my Android Auto works fine and never loses GPS signal. So something else must be going on.

After the last update, my Android phone stopped interfacing correctly with the Android Auto infotainment system during phone calls. To be more specific, it is impossible to make or receive a phone call over Bluetooth because the phone source just sends unbearable noise to the car's loudspeakers. All other multimedia and controls work just fine, but the only way to manage a phone call is to tap on the car screen and select the phone loudspeaker as output. Any clues on how to reset audio settings without doing a factory reset? Other ideas?

Android Auto must be bundled with your operating system to work correctly. Please contact your phone manufacturer for assistance. How can I circumvent this to use Android Auto?

I have an AAWireless, and I would like to make Android Auto automatically connect and start (i.e. without any input from my side). This is working without any problem if I keep Bluetooth and WiFi always on on my smartphone, but I would prefer to keep Bluetooth off, since normally I don't use it (while I don't mind to keep WiFi on, since I use it regularly). To be clear: I understand that Bluetooth is needed in order for AAW to work, what I would like is a way to turn it on automatically when AA is detected. In other words I would like the same behavior as wired AA: even if the Bluetooth is off, when I connect the smartphone to the USB cable in my car, it turns on the Bluetooth. When I bought AAW I was thinking there would be the same mechanism, just not through the wire but through the WiFi, but I can not find out a way to do it. I noticed that it looks likes it first need to connect through Bluetooth, since without it it is not able to connect through WiFi (it establishes some sort of "ad-hoc" connection, if I look on the list of my known WiFi network, AAW WiFi does not appear). But even so, maybe there is a mechanism that could turn on the Bluetooth automatically if the specific AAW WiFi network is detected (nor connected)?

Samsung Galaxy S23. How do I remove permissions from Android Auto to Change Network Connectivity. I can see the permission is assigned when I go to Settings > Apps > Android Auto > Permissions > Show All Permissions (from the top right menu). I want to remove this permission because Android Auto makes the wrong decisions about when Bluetooth and wifi should be enabled. Please don't suggest any "you're asking the wrong question" kind of answers. I am a power user and know what and why I want to do this, and second-guessing motivations and needs is unnecessary, and unhelpful.

Most of us have Android smartphones. At the same time, not all of us may have Android powered(/enabled) cars, but, may have to do something (such, as, check a note in the front drawer, or under the top light blocking panes, or do something next to the engine or other car part in the front hood, or grab something in the back part of the car and give it to someone in the morning, or check the fueling components at the back or at the front, or clear the back seat, or something along these lines). Google Keep has location reminders, but here we need something to remind us when we get in proximity of the car. And we may not be able to go to the car, because we may be busy or it may be snowing outside. We want to set a reminder that kicks in as a notification next time we are in proximity of the car, perhaps also with a specific associated time or time interval in which that reminder will be active. Does NFC do the job? Do I need to purchase a special NFC chip for my car, and how can I program it make the notification kick in when my phone is next to the car or when I enter the car. Can NFC be made to work this way? How can I do this in Android? Thank you for your contributions. Thanks.

I recently moved from Google Tasks to Microsoft ToDo and it's very good, which should not be a surprise considering it's Wunderlist [underneath](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wunderlist) . Using Android Auto in the car, I want to be able to add to my *Microsoft To Do* Tasks list using voice only. [Microsoft Support says](https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/using-ok-google-with-microsoft-to-do-94d3c3f0-9f4c-4e8d-a57d-439cd69e1f61) to use voice commands with *Microsoft To Do* on Android, tap the microphone icon in the Google search bar, say "Ok Google, add a note...", and select *Microsoft To Do* as your default app. That does not work for me though when I just say "Ok Google, add a note...", without taping first, a note gets added to Google Keep. I can't see anywhere to change the default so it's added to the *Tasks* list in *Microsoft To Do*. Has anyone been able to get it working?

I often set alarms in Android with the default clock application ([com.google.android.deskclock](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.deskclock)) and sometimes an alarm goes off when I've connected my phone to the car using Android Auto and am using the phone through the car's touchscreen. Unfortunately, there's no way to dismiss the alarm from the car touch screen, the only way to dismiss the alarm is from the phone's screen. This is a problem because then I have to pull off to the side of the road and take out my phone to safely dismiss the alarm. So far the only workarounds I know of are to disable all alarms, or less drastically to change the "Silence after" setting from 10 minutes to 1 minute, which is undesirable for other reasons. This issue has been present in all the versions of Android I've used since at least 2019, but for what it's worth I'm currently using Android version 13 on a Pixel 6 Pro. I'm using Android Auto version 10.2.633224-release and Clock version 7.5 (551400242). The car is a 2017 Ford CMAX Energi which I believe uses the SYNC 3 interface.
