I've been spending a lot of sleepless nights trying to fix this. I know there are a lot of threads like this on the internet, but I want to go a bit deeper. I have an HTC Wildfire S with only 512 MB internal flash memory. This internal memory has a partition layout allocation around 130 MB for the /data partition and around 290 MB for the /system partition. Both of them are full. (In addition I got a 16 GB SD-card.) Installing apps, upgrading apps, running most of the apps - impossible. Now, I knew it's possible to move apps to SD-card, the so called **apps2sd** procedure which offers very limited functionality to move *some* of the application data to the SD-card. Anyways after moving every possible data to SD the internal memory was still full and the phone unusable. I was reading about more sustainable methods like **data2sd**. I gave it a try. I used the instructions from htcdev.com to unlock the bootloader , I installed the latest ClockWorkMod Recovery and rooted the device permanently. Finally, I used the rooted device to install Android 4.1.2 AOKP Jelly Bean Custom ROM and Data2SD like discribed in the linked articles. But I was stuck the device was not booting until I removed Data2SD. The AOKP-ROM was working pretty well and stable, but installing Data2SD simply did not work in combination with Jelly Bean (SD-card formatting: 11 GB FAT23, 4GB ext4 and 256 MB Swap). Now, I tried to go for the **link2sd** approach. I reformatted my SD-card (14 GB FAT32 and 2GB ext4) and installed Link2SD on my phone as described here . I was able to move additional data and apps to my SD-card and could link some apps to the card. And now after some days playing around with all that usefull tipps from the internet, for example this thread: https://android.stackexchange.com/q/2065/29916 - **I am at the point where I started**. This is my result: Internal memory is still full and the phone is still unusable. (I would love to post a screenshot, but taking screenshots simply does not work currently.) How to finally fix my internal memory on the Wildfire S? Why is Data2SD not working with the Jelly Bean ROM and why is Link2SD so ineffective? Is there anything I'm doing wrong? The main problem seems to be the Dalvik Cache on the /data partition (around 100 MB). Is there any way to completly use the SD card to somehow get partitions mounted at /data and /system?

I have the HTC Wildfire S. My friend gave it to me and it already has a Google account on it. Now she forget the password. I was just wondering, if I delete the account, will it delete all apps that she already put on the phone? If I don't want to get them deleted, is there another option?

When trying to answer an incoming call, the slide up to answer never works! It moves, but doesn't actually pick up the call. Is there any way to change this??

My girlfried recently suffered a broken/cracked screen on her HTC Wildfire S, rendering it inoperable. We managed to get her considerable backlog of photos saved simply by connected the phone via usb to my laptop. However, her contacts list would only be accessible if the phone is rooted. Is this possible given that the screen is broken?

I got an old HTC Wildfire S from someone, without a SIM card, but I won't need one since I'll only be using this for testing purposes. Now the first thing I did was give it a hard reset to get rid of all his old stuff, his Google account etc. Maybe I shouldn't have. Or maybe I should have backed up everything first. So it's really my fault. Anyway, this is what I have now. - The home screen is black. There's nothing on it, no background image, no icons, nothing - There is no keyboard. Tapping in a text field does nothing - In Settings, many items give the error "The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly" - I can't connect to my Wifi, because the WPS button doesn't do anything. (And I can't type in the password to my modem manually, because there is no keyboard to type on.) - Restart > Recovery no longer works properly; this does the same as a normal Restart instead of booting into the Recovery console So, does anybody recognise these problems, and do you have any idea what I can do about them?

I have updated my HTC wildfire S to cyanogen-mod 10.1 yesterday. I am facing Two main Issues. 1st: I am unable to receive a call because when i called from other cell, there was no incoming call on WFS but on the other cell after one beep there was a "Number Busy" notification. 2nd: Power button does not enable the pattern lock.As i have set a pattern from setting>security. I have a HTC Wildfire S and set up the screen lock pattern for it. This triggers after some time but sometimes I want to lock it myself, for example if I leave the office and let my phone on the desk. In **Settings | Security | Lock phone after** I can use the "Immediately" option but this closes every time the screen turns of. Is there some way I can keep it to lock after some time as it is now but also lock it whenever I want?

The volume buttons of the HTC Wildfire S only changes the media volume, rather than ringing volume, even though I'm on the home screen. Is there any way of changing the ringing volume when I click the volume buttons?

I just moved from a Sony Ericsson C510 to a HTC Wildfire S. Although the Wildfire as a flash and the C510 doesn't, I was able to take pictures in dim rooms better with the C510 than the Wildfire. **Even using the flash creates dark pictures.** For example, in this picture you can see in the reflection in the picture glass in the lower left that I used the flash but **the flash was so weak** that it didn't seem to make the picture any brighter than without the flash.  **What settings can I change on my HTC Wildfire S to help make pictures taken in dim rooms brighter?**

I have an HTC Wildfire S A510e (Android 2.3.5, not rooted). I want to extract my SMS messages and import them into another device. # Problems: - There is no free space on the internal memory left. No apps such as SMS backup can be installed. - The touchscreen is broken, I cannot unlock the display or use any buttons (e.g. home, back, search). - Device is not rooted. I cannot view the contents of /data/ and thus can't use adb uninstall to free up space. The SMS-database is located in: /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db ls -l outputs: -rw-rw---- radio radio 977920 2013-03-12 10:12 mmssms.db However, adb pull mmssms.db or cat mmssms.db don't work (Permission denied). Any suggestions?

After updating my wildfire s phone to android version 2.3.5 I cannot install any application or update existing ones. Downloading icon appears for 1 sec and instantly disappears - for some reason apps wont download. Friend of mine has very same problem with his wildfire s, so it looks like not an accident with my phone but real reproducable issue. Does anyone managed to fix it without factory data reset? Thanks

I'm on HTC Wildfire S With my stock ROM I can use all versions of Viber But on CM7.2 I can't install newer version than 2.0.x.xxxxxx (I didn't try every version, but the 2.2. and 2.1. installing exit with the app didn't get installed message. I have a Wildfire S for a couple of weeks while my actual phone is off for repair. I can't use the camera or anything like that because it just says "Insert SD Card". If I look at the storage I can see there is plenty available. I don't want to buy an SD card just for this temporary phone - my Galaxy S2 has never had this problem. Can I use the ample internal storage available or will I have to shell out?
