I have Sony Xperia Z2 with Cyanogenmod 1220150305 I cannot boot into any recovery based applications. I have tried with the phone off and the down and up volume buttons, I have tried with apps that reboot to recovery, I have tried with the advanced power button on CM, I have tried with adb reboot bootloader/recovery and I have tried by just trying to install an update from the CM Updater. What do I do to get this into Recovery? Otherwise the phone is fine, but it now means I can never update the phone ever again which I am not happy about as this version of CM12 is not great.

I would like to update to a custom ROM or a newer version. - adb and fastboot work - fastboot mode and recovery mode do not work - the device does not have too How can I proceed? I find it's sort of chicken and egg problem with no recovery and no root. To be clear, I can't even get into stock recovery. The phone is Xperia Z2. Flashtool works but I can't find any newer versions of FTF files.

Almost every time I take a picture by camera hardkey, burst mode is activated automatically although I released the key immediately. I don't expect such a short press to activate burst mode. Therefore, a new folder for the burst series is created. Most of those folders have only 1 photo and those photos even have the same name. All of that make photo managing and syncing really frustrated. How can I disable that feature? I don't want to disable burst mode completely.

I downgraded the firmware to root it so that I could install a pre-rooted version of the latest Marshmallow ROM via recovery..which doesn't work. I installed XZDualRecovery and later TWRP but when I trigger a reboot to recovery, it doesn't work and the phone restarts normally. I have tried the button press combos (press volume down during bootup when the light is red, use adb and fastboot, use the NDRUtils app to trigger reboot to recovery..nothing works. What do I do?

Dear Android Enthusiasts, I'd like to root my new SONY Xperia Z2, but feeling a bit unsure about that I may loose SONY specific features. I'm new to Android (switched from iOS) and don't know how deep the SONY Android UI/Skin is integrated in the system. So I'm talking about noice-cancelling headphones, camera app, Xperia Lounge, ... Am I able to install and use these apps after routing? In addition I got some other questions dedicated to this topic: - As if rooting does not fulfill my expectations, can I reliably restore a backup somehow without loosing any data/settings/...? - Am I right that rooting a device removes its guarantee? (And is there a way around?) - Is there a good website containing instructions about rooting and downloading sources? (deliberately objective question) - Am I able to install a pure/vanilla/stock android os on my device? I know that I may find answers to my questions somewhere in the internet (I did search A LOT), but I experienced it's very hard to find reliable answers about the specific device "SONY Xperia Z2".

What options are available to change? I've pressed the volume-up arrow to the top when I'm on a call and it's still too quiet. What exactly do the options: Speaker voice enhancement, equalizer and microphone noise suppression do?

Yesterday I connected my phone in mass storage mode to copy photos off the external microSD card and ejected it properly from Windows before disconnecting it. After that it said there was an error on my memory card. Now if I go to storage, it reports that the card exists and is mounted, but cannot read from it (and so does not display the usage breakup of apps and media the way it does for internal storage) If I try using ES File Explorer, it too reports that the memory card exists as well as the count of songs and photos, but cannot read any of them. I have only a couple of apps that I had moved to SD card - these show up in the drawer but either fail with an error or cause the phone to freeze. I am able to view the contents of the memory card if it's connected to Windows in MTP mode, but again cannot read or copy files. What's going on? Is there a fix that doesn't involve reformatting the card and losing everything on it? **Edit** Just put it into a card reader, and it works normally. I'm able to view and open files.

CM 12.1 random restarts
I've got Cyanogenmod 12.1 and it randomly restarts. It seems to only do this when I'm using the phone, for example I've never had it restart when the phone was just sitting unused. Is there anyway I can prevent this or find what's causing it?

I have a Sony Xperia Z2 upgraded to Lollipop 5.0 and I forgot my pattern lock. There is no "forgot password" or anything. How can I remove the code or fix it? If there is no solution to my problem, then how do I factory reset the phone.

I cannot see the 'device calendar' anymore in the list of calendars in my phone's default calendar app. Can I recover this calendar or add a new device calendar? I am guessing iCal app has deleted com.android.calender.
