Can a case give an iPhone MagSafe ability?

Today’s post on MacRumors.com says: > Apple has not released any MagSafe cases for the iPhone 16e, but third-party cases are already starting to roll out. Is that really true? Are there any cases available that give an iPhone 16 SE MagSafe-like behavior in allowing a magnetic charger to snap into position? Or does “MagSafe case” merely mean it is compatible with the phone’s intrinsic magnetic field (which is lacking on all the SE iPhones)? ---------- I ask because I tried a couple of MagSafe cases for the iPhone SE third-generation that claimed to be MagSafe, but they had virtually no magnetism, if any at all.

One of my AirPods in my AirPods Pro wasn’t charging recently, so I decided to check out the charging pins in the case. I tried fiddling with them using a toothpick attempting to remove any dust in them. However, I overdid it and one of the charging pins is now stuck inside the case as shown in the following image:- enter image description here (You can see one charging pin is out and the other is stuck inside) I am unable to remove it by tapping on the back of the case and I’ve even tried using a magnet to attract it. The AirPods are out of warranty so I’m not really intent on repairing it at an apple store because I’m pretty sure they’ll ask me to replace the entire case. What can I do?

Migration assistant was invoked and the SSD was selected: The source is not using a Case Sensitive filesystem, while your Mac is. The BigSur backup is greyed out,so I have "hit a wall". I can select the backup however, the continue button remains grey / inoperable enter image description here What can be done to overcome this problem? Do I have to reformat the new MacBook with a Case Insensitive version of APFS and then reinstall Sonoma? Or is there a work around?

I was wondering which material will be best at dissipating heat and if you have any recommendations? TPU, rubber, plastic, metal, silicone, etc? *This is not a shopping recommendation question, rather a material specific question.*

I got a new USB3 case from Amazon (Orico). Fitted the SSD and plugged it in. Weirdness begins. 1. Wouldn't show up in Finder, Disk Utility, Terminal (diskutil). 2. Unplugged and replugged. Showed up once allowed me to reformat it. 3. Ejected and wouldn't show up again. 4. Tested on both machines. Same problem. 5. Placed the SSD in an old USB2 case. Mounted and worked without an issue. 6. Placed an old 160GB HDD in the USB3 case. Mounted and worked without an issue. 7. Tested the USB3/SSD combo again: wouldn't mount. 8. Changed the USB3 cable with a cable from a Seagate 2TB, 2.5" drive mounted. Allowed me to install Mojave. And then halfway through installing apps, it hung. Hard reboot of iMac. 9. Tried plugging into the Mini. Mouse cursor disappeared! My conclusions: the case works, the drive works, the cable works. They just don't work together. I would be very grateful for any help or pointers. I've already returned one case because it went through these issues. Thank you Ashok

I have the iPhone XR Smart Battery Case , I charge my phone every night and therefore my phone very rarely ever goes below 100% charge as it uses the charge in the battery case first. As I understand it, the idea of the optimised charging feature is to never charge the phone up to 100%, until right before you are expected to use it in the morning. Assuming I rarely go below 100% charge on the phone, is this feature doing anything at all, and if not, would it make any difference if I were to disable it? (If so, for better, worse or no difference at all)

The particular one I bought in case it matters is https://www.bol.com/nl/p/iphone-se-5s-5-standcase-hoesje-design-stars/9200000104229975/ I've found that while watching online videos like Youtube and Twitch, it gets quite hot after about half an hour to an hour. is this because of the new case acting too much as an insulator? Could this end up damaging my iPhone? The iPhone was bought new in 2016, and the battery max capacity right now is at 91% according to the settings app.

Trying to find a solution to be able to easily change text case inside of a chrome input field. I know word editors have features like right click > transformations > UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case. I've been looking everywhere for a solution to be able to do this DIRECTLY INSIDE OF A FIELD. Example situation. I have to copy data from a restaurant menu into a website database. I have a PDF provided to me. Everything is in caps or its mixed or the editing program makes it look all caps, but when copied and pasted it's actually lowercase. When I pasted it into a text field on the website admin. I want to be able to right click, and choose to change the case right there. No other work arounds. Anyone know of a chrome extension or mac mods that can do this?

I know that the measurements shown on the [Apple iPhone compare webpage](https://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/) are the same, but what about the measurements of the camera? Apple does not show this on their website. Let's suppose, that the X and the XS have the exact same measurements, then every iPhone X case should fit on the XS, correct? But even if there is the slightest difference between them, there could be some iPhone X cases that can't fit iPhone XS.

I disassembled a Mac Pro A1186 for cleaning and upon reassembly found that I have several screws and what appear to be some kind of nuts. I don't remember what they go to. This system did not have any hard disks. I did not remove the only optical drive. Everything else was removed for cleaning including the motherboard. I did not encounter any other similar screws during reassembly. It is therefore presumed that they are totally unique for their purpose. The nuts are also unique and I'd have thought obvious enough considering their size and number to be remembered. But I can't find a place for them. What do these parts go to? enter image description here For your personal entertainment I must also mention that that, although I am an experienced PC user, this is my very first Mac. It is very embarrassing for me to have reassembled a computer and not only have parts left over but have to ask someone else where they go. For a while during disassembly I kept thinking how nice and obviously thought out everything was. But then all of the different parts and pieces started piling up and I knew that I was in trouble. And, well, here we are! **Answered:** As Tetsujin answerer already, the nuts are part of the locking mechanism that s initiated by a level at the back of the case. I had removed these while trying to figure out how to extract the power supply. ![enter image description here](https://i.sstatic.net/jUKld.jpg) The other two screws, which I found to be identical to the ones which secure the 5.25” drives, secure the cage around the memory boards and secure it to the bottom of the case. ![enter image description here](https://i.sstatic.net/5bblW.jpg)

As you can see in the pictures bellow, this is the palm rest wear I have on my Macbook Air after 1 year of (heavy) usage. I use my laptop professionally, almost on a daily basis for many hours a day. This is the result after cleaning the whole case with a cleaner I purchased from the Apple Store. As you can see it does not really help remove these stains, it does work wonderfully for all other stains... but I'm afraid this wear is actually removing part of the aluminum cases surface, if I'm right, I guess there's not much hope in restoring the finish. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this and what you have done about it if you have been able to fix it. Thanks!
