I do not want to disable all browsers. In fact, that's the problem. The Parental Controls control all web things. And that's great. But if I want the default browser to be Google Chrome and I want to use a whitelist, then I can't use Parental Controls (at least since Yosemite). The Parental Controls option for a whitelist has been blocking everything from Chrome. Firefox has similar problems, but not as bad as with Chrome. If I use Chrome and Chrome's parental controls, then a user can just open Safari with no restrictions.

I originally created apple IDs for my kids in a format like this: FirstMLast@icloud.com
Since then, I've become more privacy conscious and would like to replace these with anonymous accounts that protect my kids' identities and limit their potential for being doxxed.
They have their own devices and are part of our Apple Family, with ScreenTime already configured. They receive emails at their email addresses, texts with iMessage, and have made app and music purchases we share with Family Sharing. They also have their accounts added to our laptops and have some data stored in the cloud associated with their account.
Should I start over from scratch creating new apple IDs and adding them to our Apple Family? Or is there some way to "fix" their old ones? I don't want to lose their purchases or data, though I recognize I may have to do some work to copy/backup/restore them.

"YouTube Kids" is cleaner than regular YouTube. Sadly, I haven't found any method of disabling autoplay. If it's possible, how can I disable autoplay?

### My question
How can I disable the YouTube Kids autoplay feature — on iOS, on MacOS, or on any other platform?
Please assume:
* I own a non-jailbroken iPhone.
* I have administrator rights on my computer.
* I can freely install any desktop browsers, mobile browsers, extensions, and/or [userscripts](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Userscript) that you want me to install.
* I can also install uBlock Origin on my computer, and can create any custom element-hiding or script-blocking rules that you suggest.
### Background to my question
"YouTube Kids" is YouTube's official interface for kids 12 and under. It isn't 100% safe for kids, but it's still cleaner than regular YouTube.
Children can watch YouTube Kids through [the iOS app](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/youtube-kids/id936971630) , through the Android app, or directly on [the website](https://www.youtubekids.com/) .
It looks like autoplay is always on, and there's no way to shut it off. This means that, after one video finishes, the next one starts automatically. I think this is a suboptimal design, especially for kids. Various sources [suggest](https://offspring.lifehacker.com/turn-off-autoplay-on-your-kids-tv-shows-1822738108) that autoplay makes the service more addictive and mind-numbing.
I've looked in the parental settings and the kids' settings, and have found no way to disable autoplay.
There's a "timer" feature which lets you schedule the app to stop working in a configurable number of minutes from now (e.g. 30 minutes), but setting a timer is not the same as simply disabling autoplay.
[This article](https://www.lifewire.com/video-streaming-apps-just-for-kids-3486111) indirectly implies that, on iOS, it may be possible to disable autoplay. But maybe that article is outdated and it's impossible nowadays.
### Edit
I've made [a Reddit post](https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/iiemd9/youtube_kids_is_safer_than_regular_youtube/) . The post asks about the idea of somehow using uBlock Origin to disable autoplay in the YouTube Kids web app. If that doesn't work, maybe I'll ask some userscripting community.

I have apps on my iPad I don't want my kids seeing (games that I don't want them opening and ruining my progress).
I have done several things for these apps:
- Hide from search
- Disable notifications
- Bury deep in folders
But then Apple released iOS 15 and _boom_ suddenly all they need to do is swipe right and there they are! The apps I totally do not want front-and-center are now exactly that.
Is it possible to disable App Library? I suspect no.
Is it possible to remove apps from the App Library? I suspect no.
Is it possible to passcode lock some apps? I suspect no.
Currently whenever I hand them the iPad I specifically put it on an app and turn on guided access. But it would be nice to give them a little more liberty without giving them basically everything.
Any ideas?

Both me and my child are members of one Family, with Family Sharing turned on. We use different Apple IDs. When my child opens "Find My" app, my devices are listed there as well.
How do I prevent my devices from showing up on that list?
The only option I have found is that I can turn off Location Sharing. But my child can still for example use "Play Sound" to remotely play a sound on my device.
I know that I can turn off "Find My" for any of my particular devices completely, but that would also prevent me from finding this device using my iCloud account, so I don't want to do that.
Alternatively, perhaps there's a way to block "Find My" on child's device completely?

From the Apple [docs](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201304#set-restrictions) , it seems like the device is setup up under my account and then is set to the child under screen time, but that doesn't seem right.
Trying to sign in directly on the new device with the child's account gives a "Verification Error", but testing the username/password on [icloud.com](https://www.icloud.com/) works.

What does Screen Time limit?
When you allow 15 minutes for, say, YouTube, does the clock only run while the child watches YouTube or will YouTube time out after 15 minutes even if they don't watch it?

I would like my children to have unlimited access to a Sonos device in their room so as to listen to Pandora or Audible audiobooks or whatever.
However, controlling Sonos requires a device with an app and I don't want my children on the web or using apps, etc. I would like to lock the tablet to only the Sonos app.
I see two methods of doing this - Guided Access and Single App Mode.
Guided Access appears to be just what I am looking for - and further, is described by Sonos as the correct way to do this:
https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3167?language=en_US
... however, all you have to do to jump out of guided access is force reboot the ipad with power+home for 15 seconds and you get a freshly rebooted ipad, and are not locked in the guided access app. It is my understanding that the latest versions of iOS behave that way ... and my kids will figure that out in an hour.
What about "single app mode" ? I think this is also known as "kiosk mode" ?
I think you need to have a MDM account and a controller system and ... that's not something I'm going to setup for my two kids at home, right ? Should I just ignore "single app mode" and pretend it doesn't exist ?
All this to ask:
How can I lock the ipad to a particular app and not have it trivially (laughably) easy to break out ?
Thanks.

Is there a way to correctly update a child's birthday, which moves them from a child account, to a teen account, and activate these features?

Can anyone explain how this works? Is this Family Sharing? Can the adult account view all communication (e.g. WhatsApp, Skype, Discord) on the linked children accounts, or just that on Apple apps? Can the adult delete photos on the linked accounts?

I'm a complete newbie at macOS.
Bought a new MacBook Air for my eight year old child as that is what the school specified. Followed the online instructions for setting up family sharing then created a child's account. However when I boot it up the initial login screen only shows my own account and not my kid's one.
If I logout then both our accounts are shown on the login screen, but as it's my young 'un's laptop I'd like for his picture to come up at the initial login screen, and preferably be the only account showing there.
I have done some searching and found the Default login drop down in the Users and Settings page but it's greyed out at the moment.
I wondered if it could be to do with the fact that when you set up the account it gives it a user@icloud.com address, so is not a local account. But I can't figure out how to make it a local account, or if that is even part of the issue?

Whenever I make the mistake and leave my MBP unattended and unlocked for more than a minute, my three-year-old rushes in and starts randomly mashing keys on the keyboard, pretending to type. Every time, without fail, afterward, things seem OK but the hot corners no longer work and the Dock (which I normally have set to auto-hide) will not rise up from the bottom of the screen when hovering there; I must click the mouse at the bottom of the screen, where the Dock is hiding, in order to make it rise. Merely hovering, like usual, does not make the Dock rise.
What key combination is she pressing to trigger this behavior? And how can I turn it off without having to completely restart the computer?

After we upgraded to iPhone 4, one of our old iPhones was pressed into service as a children's video playback device for our 1.5 year old. That's one of the best things about an iPhone upgrade -- every upgrade comes with a "free" previous-gen iPod touch!
And, well, The iPhone is the ultimate kid-pacification device . With one caveat.
He does well holding it, most of the time, but tends to push the home button or accidentally activate enough touchscreen controls to stop video playback at the least or kick out to the home page.
Is there any way to activate a "locked" or "children" video playback mode on the iPhone, where accidental button presses don't stop video playback?

My 18 month old son loves to interact with my iPad. I have explored some apps that I would think he would enjoy, but he finds it hard to resist the device's home button. (Perhaps because this is the most obvious way to interact with the device that always yields some kind of visible result.) He hits the home button almost compulsively.
Are there any solutions to this problem?
Ideally, it would be nice to buy some kind of a slip-case for kids that was specifically designed to hide the home button. I have seen some child-proof cases on the market, but they all appear to be geared towards protecting the device from the destructive forces of the child, or for making the device easy for the child to grip.
None of them appear to offer a solution to the home button, and this is unfortunate because I can imagine him interacting with something educational without that distraction.
Is there an off-the-shelf case out there that I have overlooked?
If not, does anybody have any thoughts about any other off-the-shelf cases that could be modified/hacked into hiding the home button?

I thought maybe I'd have to change it through my account, but I couldn't find any help there either. How can I change his primary email address?
**EDIT:** The only buttons next to the alternative email address are *edit* and *delete*. There are no buttons next to the primary address. Both addresses are verified
