Contacts disappeared after re-authenticating with Outlook/Exchange

I sync all my contacts to my old Hotmail aka Live aka Outlook.com account.
Today I needed to look someone up through [Outlook.com / People](https://outlook.live.com/people/) web-interface (normally I just do it on my phone) and I realised her contact is not there, while it is on my iPhone. I went to phone settings -> Contacts -> Accounts -> Outlook and it said this account needs re-authenticating. I went through authentication, which went through successfully.
What I expected to happen
==
The contacts on my iPhone that are not on Outlook.com are uploaded to Outlook.com
What actually happened
==
The contacts that were on my iPhone but were not on Outlook.com were never uploaded to Outlook.com. Instead they got deleted from my iPhone without any warning.
What I checked
==
- The deleted folder on [Outlook.com / People](https://outlook.live.com/people/) is empty
- In my iOS Contacts app, in Groups (arrow back on top left in main view) it shows "All Outlook" list/group only, there's no "Deleted" list or "On my iPhone" list. That "All Outlook" list used to say I had 119 contacts, now it says 110.
Is there any way I could get my contacts back?
My latest phone iCloud backup is from yesterday. I can erase my phone now and restore from the yesterday backup, but my concern is: this is a serious step and it has to be something of last resort. I am also concerned something else can go wrong, and I'll lose more than 9 contacts. My trust in things working as expected is not the highest now - for example, this whole situation shouldn't have happened in the first place, the phone should have asked if I want to merge contacts before deleting them AND/OR have some kind of recycle bin folder from which I can restore. I think it used to be like that, but not anymore.
Is there anything that I'm missing? This answer here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254833042?sortBy=rank makes it seem you can toggle contacts sync and they may come back, but it's iCloud-specific, and my iCloud contacts are turned off.
This is iOS 17.5.1

[macOS 15.4.1, Mail.app 16.0]
I use Mail.app to access 4 MS 365 accounts. One stopped being able to send/receive recently (soon after I updated from 15.4 to 15.4.1?). Restarting Mail or the MacBook Pro doesn't help. I still have full functionality with the other 3. Near the upper-right corner of the main Mail.app window is the text "Account Error" with a triangle warning symbol. If I click that text, I get a dialog with the message
Online Status \
Connections to host (null) on the default ports failed.
I also tried going to System Settings -> Internet Accounts -> *problem account* and then toggling the Mail setting off, then back on. Still no luck. I can read/send email with this MS 365 account on my iPhone with no issues.
I realize I can fully blow this account away and then re-sync everything, but this is the account with 3GB of mail, and it would be a hassle to do that, so I'm hoping to find another option to this problem. Thanks for any pointers!
EDIT:\
Here is a ping to Microsoft 365 SMTP:

How can I fix an “error when fetching NOBOs” when exchange calendar syncs to Mac OS X?

My problem is not this or this .
Error message: "*There was an error saving ical data. Calendar App encountered a critical error while saving to the database, and recent changes may be lost. More information may be available in the console.*"
It is very similar to this question .
However my console log has such entries:
09.11.15 11:54:53,484 CalendarAgent: CoreData: XPC: Token mismatch
09.11.15 11:54:53,485 suggestd: [com.apple.calendar.store.log.notifications] [There was an error when fetching NOBOs for principals: (Local) (error: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=134095 "(null)" UserInfo={Problem=request failed, store identifier mismatch})]
09.11.15 11:54:53,488 CalendarAgent: CoreData: XPC: Token mismatch
09.11.15 11:54:53,489 suggestd: [com.apple.calendar.store.log.notifications] [There was an error when fetching NOBOs for calendars: () (error: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=134095 "(null)" UserInfo={Problem=request failed, store identifier mismatch})]
When I setup my exchange account, first sync works good but after init sync it does not work anymore and I get this error. Well, when I deactivate my Exchange cal, delete all cache files and activate it again, it syncs for one time and then again not. But this is not a solution.
It seems like a bug - but I am not sure what to do now. Busycal costs 50€ and since Calendar.app is with Mac OS X, I thought they might fix this issue soon?

I work as a contractor and a client provided me with an Exchange/Office 365 email account. I added this as normal mail account to my iPhone without reading the small print and afterwards realised this could give my client the ability to wipe my device remotely. This is a problem for me. Apart from the small print, I did not get any notification or answer any yes/no questions about enrolling my device when I added the account.
I removed the account, but was still concerned. So I erased my iPhone, and then **restored my iPhone to an iCloud backup from the day before I added this email account to my device.** I did not install an MDM policy at any point. **Will the device still be enrolled in a remote management program with my client? Will they still be able to remotely wipe my device?**
As a footnote, I am not sure that adding the account actually worked or actually did enroll my device - it could not sync mail and if I go into Outlook in a browser and navigate to Settings -> General -> Mobile Devices, my device is not listed there. Still, it would be good to know what controls my client has.

I have a single message in Mail on my iPhone 4 that just cannot be deleted. I get a popup saying **Unable to move message - The message could not be moved to the trash folder**.
I'm using the latest version of iOS. The account is an Exchange Active Sync account and deleting other messages is not a problem. I also use the same Exchange account from Outlook on my desktop and the message in question does not exist in Outlook. It only shows in Mail on iPhone.
I also have an another IMAP account on my iPhone and deleting isn't a problem on that account.
How can I remove this rogue message?

(), they remove the ability to add a shared mailbox e.g. via IMAP or POP. (see e.g. or )
Several attempts with different email / user combinations failed either with the Mail app trying to add the sign in mail account (again) or with an 'Unable to verify user or password' error.
Is it possible to add shared exchange mailboxes to the Mail app? If so, how?
**EDIT:** I am running macOS Big Sur (11.6.6) and Mail.app version 14.0.

I use AkrutoSync, which presents an Exchange Server interface to my iPhoneSE. If I create a new Note on my iPhone, it syncs with AkrutoSync. If I edit or delete a note, however, it won't sync even after half an hour. This seems to
be an issue with iPhone SW and how it determines when to sync. Hence, the suggestions at https://www.akruto.com/fix-iphone-not-syncing-with-exchange do not seem to be relevant. The annex below contains the details of my phone/AkrutoSync setup. Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this?
-------------------------------------------------
**Details of setup between iPhone SE and AkrutoSync**
The iPhone SE is as up-to-date as possible, iOS 14.4. The laptop runs Windows 10, and I install updates whenever I am prompted. AkrutoSync is version 5.2.42 (64-bit). To the iPhone, it presents an Exchange interface for Outlook 2019 (desktop) on the laptop. I choose to sync Calendar, Contacts, and Notes, but not Email.
On the iPhone, I connect to AkrutoSync as an Exchange Server. I connect over home WiFi, not over the internet. The laptop's IP address is static, so that should not be a problem. The WiFi Access Point will dynamically assign IP addresses to other devices, but not to the laptop.
--------------------------
**What I tried**
For iPhone's Calendar app, I can manually initiate a sync from the iPhone by following [these few steps](https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/125743/254633) . However, there is no such counterpart for the Notes app.
I found out from a commentor that iOS 14.4 was actually not up-to-date, which surprised me as I normally see a notification that an update is available and I update right away. I upgraded to the most recent iOS, version 15.2.1, which solved half the problem. The iPhone now initiates a sync if I edit a Note, but not when I delete a Note. I suspect this is not configurable, as I've never found indications of configurability for the years that I've looked.

I'd like to receive push Gmail emails. My organisation offers Gmail ActiveSync, and I was able to configure this to work easily on my iPhone. However I cannot seem to get it to work on my Mac.
If I try adding it bedding "New Account > Microsoft Exchange" I'm eventually hit with "Internal/External URL" which I do not have.
If I try adding it as a "Mail Account" it simply does not work, and I noted that that option has nowhere for me to enter the "domain" setting that I had to enter on iPhone.
Here are the settings that work on iPhone:
Email: email@gmail.organization.com
Password: Password
Username: Email: email@organization.com
Server: m.google.com
Domain: google
Thank you!

I'm trying to deploy a mobile configuration for a number of iPhones. The mobile configuration only includes PKCS12 for the client certificate authentication and the configuration of the MS Exchange Active Sync Server.
I have an older ".mobileconfig", we've previously used and I have one with the same data, but generated by the current "Apple Configurator 2" from the App Store.
The old.mobileconfig crashes without any further info, on the last step, after the user password for the Active Sync has been entered on iOS 13.4.1 but works perfectly fine on iOS 13.2.2 (both iPhone SE).
With the new.mobileconfig, the setup finishes just fine and the profile is set up on the client, but it fails to connect to the sync server with the client certificate, both on iOS 13.4.1 and iOS 13.2.2.
Upload for "Additional Text" keeps failing for me on here, so I'll attach a redacted version of both configuration files like so:
old.mobileconfig: https://pastebin.com/X8Q0U90M
new.mobileconfig: https://pastebin.com/bLs2wBcS
My patience grows thin with this setup, so I am asking for help here.
What is the issue with my mobileconfigs, how can I correctly generate/adjust the mobileconfig to have our iPhones connect to our Active Sync server with client certificate authentication?

I can send my exchange mailbox an email from a gmail account and the mail shows up in my exchange mailbox in OWA and then it shows up in Outlook. However, it does not show up in the Mail app.
I've got an iMac on High Sierra 10.13.2. I am using the Mail app v11.2 with an Exchange account. I also have Outlook for Mac 2011 v14.7.3 for my Exchange account.
Currently, once the mail app is open, the only thing that lets new mail from my exchange account show up in the mail app is quitting the mail app and re-opening it. Once it re-opens, it downloads all mail but when trying to sync any further when more mail comes in, it tells me there is no new mail to download when I know that there is.
So far I have tried rebuilding the Inbox folder, removing the internet account and adding a new one for my exchange account, and I have attempted to take the account offline and then back online but that doesn't seem to do anything. When rebuilding or removing/re-adding the account, it seems to download half of the mail in one go and then it just stops downloading mail. I have to quit the mail app and re-open it to get it to download the rest of the mail.
Any ideas? This is starting to hurt my brain :X

*Outlook 2011 on a Mac (OS X 10.7 Lion), on a (mostly PC) office network using Microsoft Exchange server.*
In Outlook 2011, in the network "Sent Items" folder, all emails are listed showing the sender's name (my name), not the recipients' names.
That means every single email is headed with my own name, like this:
My Name 08/09/2012
Some subject line [flag]
My Name 08/09/2012
Re: Another subject line [flag]
My Name 07/09/2012
Re: different subject line [flag]
My Name 07/09/2012
different subject line [flag]
...and so on. There's no clue at all as to who these emails were to, until I open each and every one.
I guess it's reassuring to be told that every email that I sent was sent by me and if I was ever to forget my own name while browsing my sent emails folder, it'd be super useful, but it's not very helpful for navigating sent emails.
Is this normal for Office for Mac 2011? How can I fix this, so that the list shows the recipients' names instead of endlessly reminding me of my own name?
----------
Things I've found while researching this:
- This can also happen in Outlook for Windows. On Windows, it's easily fixed by resetting the field . That method doesn't work on Mac because the fields can't be selected separately.
- It seems this can also happen in Apple Mail too, and a lot of people seem stumped by this .
- I can't find anything on this specific to Outlook 2011 or Outlook for Mac in general.
------
A simple guide on how to fix this would be the best answer, but I'd also welcome any knowledgable thoughts from people with experience of Macs on Microsoft Exchange Server networks on whether this sounds like an Outlook settings issue which I can fix on my machine, or some issue relating to how the Mac gets data from the server and network. The fact that Apple Mail users have encountered the same issue with no apparent fix makes me think the problem might be in the interaction with the network rather than the mail client - but that's way beyond my limited knowledge of these things.
I don't know whether the local ("On my computer") Sent Items folder has the same problem, as it's configured so that no emails except drafts are ever stored in these local folders. Drafts saved locally are listed by recipient as expected.

Recently the UK changed from winter time to summer time, I have noticed that the timing of **some** of my calendar appointments (Google Calendar via Google Sync) have also been shifted forwards by an hour, whereas some have not changed.
It could well be that the split is down to events created on the iPhone and those created on the Google Calendar web interface.
Does anyone know a work around for this, that will stop me turning up an hour early to things when the clocks change back in October?

I have a team that all have privileges configured in Exchange to give them read/write access to the Inbox, and send-as privileges, for a shared mailbox. This works great on Outlook, where they can log in with their credentials and just pick "Open these additional mailboxes" in Outlook's account settings.
There doesn't seem to be anything precisely parallel to this in the iPhone, and the Googling I've done suggests that the easy way won't work on the iPhone.
But where things get really odd is that I don't seem to be able to add another Exchange mailbox on the iPhone with the shared mailbox's username and password. Every time I try to authenticate, I get a password error, despite validating the server settings and the password repeatedly.
How can I get this team the ability to receive, move/delete, and respond to emails for this shared Exchange account from their iPhones?
