We use Mac / calendar / iCloud here at my company for time management. In my personal life, I use google Calendar. So I import my google calendar into my Mac Calendar. This works great, I can see all my events in one place. Problem: other people cannot see when I am busy on my personal calendar. The "Check Availability" option shows me as available during the times I have personal events. Here is a screenshot showing a concrete example. The blue event "PERSONAL EVENT" from 12PM to 1PM is my personal event. In the screenshot I am creating a new "WORK EVENT" from 2PM to 3PM. **You can see in the "Check Availability" window that my availability does not include the personal event. Why?** enter image description here I found a setting in the imported calendar named "Event affects availability". It was already checked. The name makes me think that the imported calendar should already be affecting availability? But it is not. enter image description here Is there any way for me to indicate that I'm busy for my imported Google events on my Apple Mac Calendar?

Is there any way to import reminders created in Google Calendar to ANY of the available free app in macOS Big Sur? Ideally it would be nice to have a sync feature as well but I would be happy with just a single-time import from Google Calendar for reminders so that all future reminders can be created in the suggested app. I am pretty sure that the native Reminders doesn't do that and neither does the Calendar app.

My Apple ID is my Gmail address. I also use Google Calendar as my main calendar. But, when someone sends me a calendar invite from their Apple Calendar app, I don't get an email in Gmail, and it there's no invite on my Google Calendar. Instead, it gets added to the built in iCloud Calendar that I never use. This causes me to miss events that I need to be added to. I tested this on my own, and "invited" another Gmail account I have from the Apple Calendar app - it sent an email invite to that Gmail, which I could open, click add to calendar, and have on that calendar. This is what I want to happen when someone else with an iPhone and iCloud Calendar invites my main Gmail to a meeting. This never used to be an issue for me in the past when I didn't utilize an iPhone (but still had the same Apple ID), but now I am unable to receive any invite from an Apple user to that specific Gmail. It appears as though Apple recognizes the email address when someone tries to invite me, and instead of sending the invite to the email, just adds it to the iCloud calendar. Is there a way to turn off this iCloud calendar from accepting invites, so that these invites can be sent to my Gmail as a normal email invite? Unfortunately, switching to using the iCloud calendar is not an option. I know I can subscribe to my Google Calendar in the Apple Calendar app, and to my iCloud Calendar on Google Calendar, but I need these events to actually populate on my Google Calendar itself, not just subscribe so that I can "see them all in once place". Thank you!

I would like to access to a google calendar via a CalDAV account. I have been doing this successfully for a number of years, but this week it suddenly stopped working. I assumed at first that either (a) somehow my app password expired, or (b) there was some sort of organization policy change preventing caldav access, but experimenting with curl shows that this works just fine:
curl -X PROPFIND -u "..." \
  https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/me%40example.com/user
This returns a successful caldav response:
/calendar/dav/me%40example.com/user

   HTTP/1.1 200 OK

    Lars KS
And running:
curl -X PROPFIND -u "..." -H Depth:1 \
  https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/me%40example.com/events/
Seems to successfully access calendar events; it returns over 45000 lines of responses that look like
/calendar/dav/me%40example.com/events/11223344-6819-427c-9ee0-ccd8642b1a96.ics

  HTTP/1.1 200 OK

   text/calendar; component=vevent
   "63566811207"
Great! But if I go into the accounts settings on my iphone and add a new caldav account, so that it has: | | | |---|---| |Server| www.google.com| |User Name| me@example.com| |Password| secret_app_password | |Advanced Settings -> Port| 443| |Advanced Settings -> Account URL| https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/me@example.com/events/ | Whenever I click "Done", it spins for a bit then reports:
CalDAV account verification failed
What could be failing here? The URL and credentials match what I'm successfully using with curl.

Gmail image: In Mail app the window looks same but has buttons to add the event: Also there is no option to share the attachment into the Calendar directly. I see that Gmail app parsed the event info, but even with Google Calendar installed I can not do anything with it. I have these options in Gmail app on Android. Why is that and is there another easy option to import this event without Apple Mail? It's Google who did not code this feature or Apple's restriction? Edit: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251135443 no answer to "why".

I had my Google calendar account on all my iPhones throughout the years set up with CalDAV. About a week ago, on my iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 18 I started getting the dreaded "Password Incorrect" error message for the account. I removed the account from my phone, and then re-added it using my standard @gmail account login rather than the old CalDAV method. Any current events that I add sync just fine between my phone, computer, and the Google Calendars webpage. However, all my calendar events I had from before are completely missing everywhere. I tried desyncing and resyncing the calendar account, and checking the deleted events section on the Google Calendar webpage, but there was nothing there. Is there any way I can get those events back? I don't understand how they could have vanished into thin air.

At work we use Gmail and Google Calendar. Besides my own calendar I've subscribed to some other calendars of colleagues in the past, and we use some shared calendars. At the moment I've removed all colleague calendars. In Google Calendar I don't see these calendars anymore. iOS Calendar (or Google Calendar) keeps adding calendars continuously and it's very annoying. When I press on "Calendar" (bottom middle) I get a list of all calendars. I uncheck all that I don't want to see. When someone adds an event, it pops up and his or her calendar is suddenly added. I keep unchecking these things. **Questions** * Why do these calendars show up in iOS when I've removed them in Google Calendar? * How can I permanently disable a calendar that is in the list, so it won't show up and won't show notifications? Using iOS 16.

I can then add it to the dock - but, this goes to the wrong account :( If I do Show Package Contents I can open the Info.plist file, and I see the url inside:
CrAppModeShortcutURL

Now if I change the url to https://calendar.google.com/calendar/b/1/r (which is the correct way to choose a specific Google account), I would expect it to work. But in fact that doesn't change anything. But actually, even if I put any random website here, it will still go to Google Calendar so basically I think this has no effect at all, which is surprising. Ideas?

This is the first time I'm using MacOS Sonoma. Can somebody help please.

I use an iCloud calendar account for my private life, via the macOS and iOS Calendar apps, and Fantastical. Whenever I get an invite from a friend using Google Calendar, I get an email with an invite.ics attachment. I can open the attachment using calendar to import it, but this will not notify the sender that I have accepted the invitation. I have a gmail account and can accept the invite in Google Calendar, but then it is in a separate calendar from all my other events. Is there any way to really accept an invitation sent from Google Calendar that allows me to have the event in my iCloud calendar? The reason is that I have shared my iCloud calendar with my partner (read-only), so they can see what I'm up to and plan accordingly – so simply showing my Google Calendar in Calendar.app doesn't work for me.

I use my MacOS calendar to show me appointments from my various calendars. It stays nicely in sync with my google calendar with one exception: it does not tell me about proposed new time responses to my meeting invitations. I have to go into my gmail or google calendar to see those messages and accept them. This has been the case in various versions of MacOS up to and including Ventura. How can I change this? For context I use the MacOS calendar because it syncs nicely across desktop and mobile, and it gives me notifications. I haven't reliably been able to get notifications from safari when my google calendar tab is closed, even though I have said that I do want notifications for the calendar and safari.
