How to unfreeze phone in Guided Access mode when triple click to prompt passcode won’t work? (iPhone 12)
I put my iPhone into Guided Access. I tried to triple click to prompt my passcode, but it’s not showing up. Holding Volume Up and sleep is not working to shut down my phone. Do I have to wait until the battery dies?

I can't exit Guided Access on iPad... the password prompt won't accept any input. enter image description here **Here are the details:** I have a brand new 2021 10.2" iPad (9th gen) running iPad OS 15.0.2. It is to be used as a kiosk interface. Basically, it will just run a website (that looks like an app) with Guided Access turned on to prevent users from navigating away from the website. I enter Guided Access mode with a triple-tap of the home button. To exit Guided Access, it's the same triple-tap. This will bring up the password dialog, but I cannot type anything on screen. None of the password buttons (or Cancel or delete) are responsive to taps. And since I can't exit Guided Access, the only thing I can do is hard restart the iPad... which, thankfully, brings the iPad back with Guided Access off. I've replicated the exact setup on an older 11" iPad Pro (2018) running iPad OS 15.0.2 and was able to enter and exit Guided Access without issue. No problems typing the password. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a glitch with Guided Access and the 2021 iPads? --- P.S. *Sorry about the crappy photo... as I'm in Guided Access, I can't take a screenshot!*

When Guided Access is disabled, the settings for disabling search on lock screen works - you can't pull down to access the search bar. Is there some way to disable lock screen interactions on Guided Access?

The Touch Bar on my MacBook has been broken for awhile so I have to adjust everything with trackpad. I turned display brightness down all the way and accidentally moved my fingers, so now I can’t see the screen. So I can’t get to the settings to adjust the brightness. My screen sharing is apparently off because I can’t remote access through my iPhone. I’ve tried keyboard shortcuts including shutdown, restart, Command R, but I can’t see anything come up. I tried a different apple support, no help. All websites tell me to go to the computer and I can’t, or to use brightness controls, which I don’t have. I don’t have an HDMI port. Can anyone help?

I've got my 88 year old grandma the latest iPhone SE and Watch SE and set it up in Guided Access for the Phone app (see attached for the icon). I also have it set up so she only receives the calls in full-screen phone mode, not banners (aka background mode) - see the second attached image (which was taken on my iPhone 12 Pro, so the UI is not 100% the same as iPhone SE). The problem is that when she receives a call, the call only rings and is visible on the screen for a split second, as the iPhone's screen turns off and the ringing stops, while the Watch keeps ringing. Basically, the phone puts the call into background mode (gray box on the top of the screen, instead of green). When I disable Guided Access, it works as it should. Turning off the Watch doesn't have an effect. **How do I set it up so when she gets a call, it'll always ring throughout the incoming call, while in Guided Access?** PS : I set her phone to Guided Access because she really couldn't use it otherwise - she's 88 and never had a smartphone before. Setting it up in Guided Access was a last-ditch effort to salvage the operation (getting my grandma on an iPhone and a Watch for the sake of being able to videocall and automatic emergency calling if she falls again), as despite a month-long of me training her, she still wasn't able to figure out how to do a simple thing like answer a call. It worked. **EDIT :** Talking to Apple customer support, I was told this is expected behavior . Does anyone know how to achieve my goal any other way? Basically my grandma only needs to have access to initiating and receiving (or just receiving) FaceTime. Any more access means she’ll mess up the phone 😃 She can’t have access to Home Screen! *Phone app icon below* Phone app icon *Incoming Calls screenshot below* Incoming Calls screenshot

In Guided Access mode of iOS the device enters a single app mode and you can block access to certain parts of the screen. Guided Access is enabled through Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access (in 4th block "General") and then started with a triple-click of the side button in the app you want to use. This is particularly helpful when handing your device to your kids and you don't want them to mess with the other apps. One thing that I haven't been able to block though is access to Messages. In some apps you can tap "Share" and then the user would be able to share something via Messages. While I can block certain parts of the screen, a share button can be on different parts of the screen throughout the app, so covering that part isn't necessarily helpful. Is there a way to disable the sending of messages or sharing altogether?

**I’m trying to take a screenshot of a problem that’s occurring with Guided Access on my iPhone. Is this possible?** I’ve had no luck with the usual method of simultaneously pressing the Home and Power buttons. This limitation exists even before I tap the Start button within Guided Access. Just being within the initial screen keeps the screenshot function from working. I tried to find an answer to this question via standard web search, but found nothing. Note: I’m using a beta version of iOS 13, but I assume that this same problem exists in iOS 12 and earlier.

- We are using supervised devices - Airwatch is our MDM solution - Devices are being used sparingly with Guided Access enabled to allow use of one app only - Some devices use Facetime as above mentioned app, which requires AppleID sign-in In the past, during critical situations, a device would not allow use until the user signed in. Our end-users do not have access to the shared AppleIDs. Note this was also on devices that were not yet supervised. What I've done so far.. - All the devices are having ABM purchased apps assigned to them. (This has its own set of problems...) - For Facetime, I've logged into Facetime only using a shared AppleID and enabled Guided Access - I have been able to push updates to supervised devices without them being signed in. They have not asked for an AppleID. Yet. I am still concerned a supervised device will want to update an app or update its iOS on its own and ask for a user sign-in. **That cannot happen in this environment.**

I wish to lock my iOS devices into running a single app only. I have surveyed [Guided Access Mode](https://support.apple.com/kb/HT202612) , but it doesn't persist between restarts, and have to be re-configured (by pressing the Home button thrice). The requirement here is for the iOS device to behave as if it is capable of running **one app only**. I wish to practically restrict the device to use a single specific app, unaffected by power interruptions. Is it possible to enforce this behaviour using a MDM solution? (Starting the device with a specific app launched automatically upon device power up/restart and restricting user from suspending it by pressing Home button). Since the use-case entails locking the device to run only a specific app, all the other required device settings will be configured using a MDM solution.

In some iPads after hard reset, the same application does not starts and the iPad is no longer in Single App mode. So which one is the correct behaviour and how can I achieve same behaviour on each device. Please let me know if any further clarifications are needed regarding this.

However, intermittently, a "sign into iCloud" prompt is displayed on the iPad. Hitting cancel doesn't get rid of it. The only way to remove it is to enter the Apple ID password. The idea behind having it locked to Guided Access is so nothing but the POS app is active. I don't want anyone else to have that password - but the ipad is unusable until that password is entered. Why is this happening? And is there anyway to disable this notification? *iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular (MM), iOS 8.2, Seen in iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3*

I have a few hundred iPads that are suddenly unable to enter Guided Access mode locally on the iPads. When we triple-click and triple-click is set to Guided Access, nothing happens. When I add something like voice-over to the triple-click functionality, I get the menu where I can select Guided Access (or voice-over), but again when tapping Guided Access nothing happens. I'm fairly confident this is related to the restrictions we placed on the device group, but for the love of me I can't seem to figure out what restriction is stopping this from working. We don't have Single App Mode turned on due to the fact that the devices move between random wifi-networks and we need to be able to configure them on the device, but I added the apps that we need guided access for in the "Allow these apps to enter Single App Mode" list anyway, without that helping. Which restriction is stopping us from entering Guided Access Mode?
