I've been using/learning iMovie in order to create online classes for my students because of COVID19. Everything has been working fine until this morning.
iMovie just won't export a file.
I've created and exported about 30 videos thus far and I understand the basics. But now, when I select all the clips in a project and select the "Share - File..." option and hit "OK", nothing happens. No error messages, nothing. The little pie-chart progress indicator flashes for a fraction of a second before disappearing for good. The application doesn't bug or freeze (as I can keep working on the video or move to other projects), it just doesn't export the file.
I also can't export any of the videos it previously exported in the last few days and weeks. Nor will it export and brand new video.
I tried deleting the preferences: didn't solve anything.
I'm on 10.13 and iMovie 10.1.6 (and I can't upgrade).
Thanks.
P.S. The only change I made to the computer since yesterday is that I installed iOS 14 on my ipod touch. I had to use the MobileDeviceUpdater in order for iTunes to recognize my ipod touch. I can't imagine why it would change anything for iMovie, but nothing else changed.

> H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
Quicktime shows the following when playing the video:
And iTunes has the following in *Get Info*:
But when I try to copy the file via iTunes, it says the file is not supported:
How can I found out exactly what is is complaining about, so I can fix it?

My iPod (4g iOS 6.1.6) is stuck in soft DFU mode because I quit out of redsn0w too early. Then I also used an app to exit recovery mode and now it's in soft DFU mode. I had to use the DFU IPSW in order to put my device in DFU mode in the first place.
When I attempt to restore it in iTunes, after the "extracting software" step, the software says "preparing iPod for restore". After the 1-2 minutes, pass the boot logo does not show up and iTunes says "The iPod (iPod) could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1601)."
I'm just going to try and let my iPod die and then reboot it. Any alternative suggestions on how to regain control of the device?

How can I tell what cables will be able to send data to my very old iPod Touch?
The cable for my iPod Touch has gone missing. It is a 5th Gen (A1421) model. How can I tell what cables will be able to send data to it? I'll almost certainly have to buy a new one.

I am addressing the more "geeky" of the group. I have an old 4th generation iPod Touch that, after years, I decided to turn on again, to see photos and videos I had taken now more than 10 years ago. The problem is that when I turn it on I am presented with the lock screen which says that the Ipod is disabled for a good 24 million minutes (doing a quick calculation that's over 40 years)😂. Checking on the internet I saw that this is a problem that other people have had as well. The solutions I found are not many. The main one is to restore the device by connecting it to the computer and via iTunes. The problem with this method is that it obviously resets the device so unless you have an old backup you will lose all your data. Other methods are to use third-party programs. I have tried different programs, to recover the data, or just unlock the device, but all these programs ask me to unlock the device by entering the pin to authorize access, but I cannot because precisely the iPod is disabled. Do you have any suggestions? My intent is just to recover the data. Thank you to those who will respond.

Restore iPod Touch without passcode or power button
My power button doesn't work and I only see a white screen. The only way to reset the device I've seen is to hold the power and home button and then use restore on iTunes, but I can't do that for obvious reasons. How could I reset my 4th gen iPod Touch just using my computer and a cable?

My little ten-year-old-or-so iPod Touch cannot, AFAICT, get to any internet site. Neither by browser nor by apps. The problem does not seem to be connecting to WiFi. I select a network, give it the password, wait a few seconds, and then at least it thinks it connects to the network. It gives a checkmark next to the network name and no error messages. But then I cannot get to any internet site. Every site I try gives a message like "Cannot connect to ..." or "Server not available ..." This is not a problem specific to my home WiFi; I have tried this on four different WiFi networks, all giving the same result. I have tried some of the common solutions to the problem of not connecting to a network in the first place (let me repeat, that is not the problem). Other than that, I don't know what to do. Any ideas?
One more thing: The last time I tried to connect was a couple of months ago and it worked fine. No idea what could have changed in the meantime.

How do I apply Apple ID verification on an iPod touch running iOS 6.1.6?
I've reset my iPod Touch running iOS 6.1.6. Now every time I try to login to iTunes after putting in my Apple ID and password it asks for an Apple ID verification code, which has been texted to my phone. However there is no place coming up to submit this verification code.

At some point during the summer, my youngest sister took my iPod Touch to her dad's house. I just recently found out where it was and got it back. I do not remember my passcode. We have had our wifi changed a couple of times since it went missing so it has no internet connection.
When I plug it into my laptop it says I need to unlock it to use accessories but it charges just fine in a wall outlet. iTunes on my computer can't even detect it and my laptop doesn't even show it as connected under my devices.
Ideally, I want to be able to access my iPod's photos, i.e. high school graduation and whatnot, photos I never really made a backup of and I now regret. I would love to get them back if at all possible. If it's not, is there a way to reboot my iPod touch or is it just bricked until I miraculously enter the correct 4-digit passcode?

I can't find it in iTunes either after connecting and sync iPod with iTunes.
I would prefer not to lose my current settings like bookmarks in Safari, mail settings, etc.
The iPod is not jailbroken and I would prefer not to jailbreak it.
Accessing the settings panel is enough, I don't really need the icon.

### Background ###
I have an old Ipod Touch 2nd generation 8GB A1288. The battery died some years ago, but I've been using it perfectly, attached to either speakers dock or a usb cable or a powerbank (all of which provide the power for it run perfectly.) Battery is totally zero. If detached from the usb without power, it doesn't even turn on.
Recently I decided to completely reinstall the OS (thinking I'd refresh all the bloatware etc gathered over the years.) Big mistake :(
### What I've tried ###
While still attached to the power, I chose the full factory reset option under iOS > settings. The device did some stuff for a while, then it rebooted into recovery mode and threw me a *Connect to ITunes* logo screen.
So I attach the cable to a PC (I don't have a Mac) which has iTunes. iTunes says there's an iPod detected which needs resetting, proceed? I say OK. iTunes goes into the process, downloads etc then installs OS and takes a few minutes. After which iPod restarts, but then again goes to Recovery mode and 'connect to iTunes' logo screen... while on the PC screen, iTunes shows error "could not be restored error 1611". Every time (I've done dozens of times, trying with different good cables, and on different PCs.)
I then tried various 3rd party tools like 3uTools etc. They all detect iPod, ask me to enter Recovery Mode or DFU mode etc (All I did) and they install it but upon a reboot, they all fail because iPod boots again into the Recovery Mode again.
After trying many times, I suspect iPod needs a good battery to reinstall OS. Because when it first reboots after installing the OS, it fails to do or detect something which requires a battery?
By the way, 3uTools has an option where I can see what songs or apps are in iPod, and it shows the list as if everything is still all there! Apparently just the OS is not there for some reason.
### Question ###
Is there anything else I can try without having to install a new battery (which I don't have any experience of and I might break the device.) I am hoping for a software only solution here.

My other devices send me a message that a device is trying to connect but allowing doesn't initiate the download.
Has Apple Store access been disabled for these older devices, or is there something I am doing wrong?

I jailbroke my old iPod Touch 3rd Generation, with IOS 5.1.1, using the latest version of absynthe. It worked for several months, but then it randomly stopped. It went into safe mode, but the touch screen wouldn't work. It showed the lockscreen, but nothing worked at all, except for the physical buttons. The only way to reboot is to follow the same steps as DFU mode (Hold power button 3 sec, then home button AND power for 10, then just home for 8)... However, it always boots right back into Safe mode.
I had to restore, and once rejailbroken, it worked fine, until I installed SBsettings. Then it did the EXACT same thing, and I had to restore and re-jailbreak AGAIN! The other day, I finished installing ALL of my extensive list of tweaks, and got it to about where I wanted it, when lo and behold, it booted to safe mode again. I have spent so much time on this, and I do not want to do it again. Does anybody here have any knowledge on the topic? Is there a program I can run from my computer to manually control the device or kick it out of safe mode? Is there some other method of doing this? I am looking for any solution OTHER than restoring. I have done that several times.
Also, I know the problem isn't with my jailbreak. It worked for several months before, then one day stopped. Now, it has the problem within a day of rejailbreaking, OR instantly if I install SBsettings. I re-installed the jailbreak, and applied the new one as well, and that didn't work. I have given up, and don't want to go through the painful process of restoring, rejailbreaking, and re-installing all of those tweaks again.
Also, because I can't get into my iPod, I can't provide a list of tweaks. I would if I could, but it just can't happen unless I can get in there.
