I have tried the mic on the keyboard. It gives me this :
Espace insécable
:-)
I would prefer a solution coming from the keyboard. I would also like a palette offering characters or snippets.

So I am new to Mac OS and I feel terribly slow. I tried AeroSpace and went back because of my German keyboard.
All I want is to have a shortcut (or even via Finder or Raycast) to open the Terminal and Finder (actually any app, but most importantly these two) in a new window in the current space and not just to bring it into focus in the top menu bar, but to actually open it. It can't be that difficult.
Actually, what I am looking for is the behavior of right-clicking on the app in the dock and selecting "new window", but as a shortcut. It just pops up in a new window on the current space.
I'd appreciate any help a lot!:)

Is there a floating-ruler app for macOS?

I’m working with a notation software and I would need to space certain graphical elements evenly within a predetermined space (e.g.: I set a 5cm space and I have 5 elements, they need to be precisely 1cm from each other), something that the software cannot do on its own (that is, without printing on paper, measuring, then moving the objects, then printing again and so on...).
The ideal solution would be to have a floating ruler on the screen or a superposed grid similar to millimetric paper that would still allow click-through (i.e.: interaction with the program below it).
Is there an app that provides this tool?
Thank you very much

Tthe camera on my phone (iPhone 6S+) has stopped working. I thought it was due to lack of space (indeed, I couldn't even press the button and take a blank photo). That was for one side of the camera (they are two - selfie and the other side). (I had no space at that point, and nothing really I could do - installation of apps, etc.)
I then cleared some space, and one of the sides cleared up, and I could take photos again. But that was for a short time, at some point it stopped working again, even though the space hasn't become close to 0.
I read about it, and since then, have updated iOS, and even wiped the phone and restarted with a backup from iCloud. The camera is still not working.
While it could be a hardware problem, I highly suspect that this is not the case, at least for the selfie side of the camera. How do I confirm it, and what is there left to try?

However, it still says my iCloud is full - on my phone, laptop and on icloud.com, even though there should be 2.62 extra GB free.

I have a 13-inch Early 2015 MacBook Air (OS 11.2.5) with 128 GB, and I'm trying to clear some space for a game I want to install. So far, I've transferred my school assignment files into my external hard drive, and I've safely cleared my Music cache, which took over about 40% of my storage before. I currently have 51.36 GB available but I still want to clear more space. I saw this dyld folder and it had the largest amount of gigabytes I've seen ever since I cleared the Music cache folder; 9.78 GB!
Location:
~/System/Library/dyld
Can I delete my dyld folder, or at least several items of it only?
Thanks in advance.

Any idea ? Any trick ?
EDIT : I see that on the 3rd button mouse, there is a "Other..." item in the popup action list. Choosing this opens a dialog where I have to choose an applescrit (as far as I know). Is it possible to make a script that switch to Space 1.
PS : I really want to shift to space one in 1-move or 1-click. I know how to go to Space 1 using only the mouse, But not "at once".

I've just got a second hand MacBook from my dad which is a 2017 version with 250GB storage. I've factory reset it so theoretically it should be a completely blank slate, but for some reason I'm losing disk space already. Every couple of minutes the available space shrinks; it seems I lose 100MG every ten minutes or so. I'm currently on 231.52GB free, and it was at least 235 a few hours ago.
I know this began as soon as the computer switched on because the first thing I did was to check the storage space and I immediately noticed that it was going down. I'm not downloading anything at all from the internet, my downloads folder is completely empty.
This is really frustrating to me, not to mention making me a bit paranoid about when it's going to stop and how much space I'll have lost when it does. The whole reason I got this Mac was for the better storage as my previous one was less than half the size (120GB) and it was causing big problems. And granted it's only small chunk of the overall storage gone so far, but I'm gonna be using a lot of big files on this machine and I need all the space I can get. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it? I'm wary of even downloading anything else until I get to the root of this problem.

So I've just installed .1 version of Catalina, and saw that I only had about 50 GB left. So, I've deleted some useless big files and moved some to my external HDD. But, the disk space wasn't freeing up. I've checked the whole internet last night but I just can't get my head around it. Even Mail isn't starting anymore (because of low disk space).
This is what I did and some results;
- Turned off Time Machine (which runs to a Airport Time Machine)
- Reindexed Spotlight
- Checked Snapshots with tmutil. Deleted them with;
tmutil listlocalsnapshotdates|grep -e "^2"|xargs -n 1 -- sudo tmutil deletelocalsnapshots
Whenever I check the snapshots again it says there aren't any.
- I've run several tools to check what the biggest files are and where
the storage went.
As you can see, that's
about 400GB and I have 1TB
- I did a disk EHBO via disk utility. The Macintosh HD - Data gave some
errors
I still think there is something with Snapshots, but it says there aren't any after I've deleted them..
Another note; my whole life i've been using "TimeMachineEditor" as a schedule program for Time Machine. Which I turned off. Could that have to do something with the problem? (Don't think so)

The main advice is to remove the **photos.sqlite** and other similar files from **PhotoData** directory. That did nothing - the restored base is lacking my OLD ones. Still you can find them all in DCIM folder.
How can I add them back to sqlite??? Thanks a lot!!

df -h command in Terminal shows wrong amount of disk space
I recently ran `df -h` on my Mac using Terminal. I was surprised to find that it shows my internal volume can store 112 GB, but it can actually store 120 GB. So I can't understand why this happens and should I worry about. The Size column shows as 112 GB.
