I am switching from the default music player on my iPhone to using Spotify to play music. The recent updates have meant that I can't use the music player in the same as I used to and I much prefer Spotify in general.I still want to use iTunes on my Mac to organise playlists. What I need to set up is essentially a reverse smart playlist. I have 2000 songs in my iTunes library but I only want 500 of those on my phone. Is there a way to have the songs that get put into my smart playlist (that gets synced to my phone) getting automatically copied into a folder in Finder and have that as the 'Local File Source' in Spotify? Or would I just have to do this manually? Hopefully that makes sense, and any kind of help would be awesome! Thanks

What jailbreak tweak will list only the songs of an artist or in an album I liked or hide all that I failed to like in Spotify?

There is a junkyard bunch of your “liked” songs in Spotify, but what good is that if you can’t listen to, say, all your Michael Jackson records you liked!? There is even a fake “liked songs” button which, oops, by mere happenstance is named the same as the liked songs (the thousands songs junkyard of yours) that you actually liked. That fake liked songs button inside any artist will show basically _popular_ songs of that artist, songs that are _generally liked_ but you may have never even heard of let alone liked or like. There is no “[my] liked songs” or “[my] liked albums” within which you would also be able to list “[your] liked songs” and the same is true for artists. We need “list liked” button inside every category, or a “hide [those not yet] liked”. **Is there a jailbreak tweak to achieve either or both of these on iOS 14.3?**

I sometimes have the problem that my macbook won't sleep, even with the lid closed. After some investigation I tracked the problem down to Spotify app; when the app is open, even if no song is playing, my macbook won't go to sleep and eventually go out of battery power. I don't have need of spotify keeping my mac awake (for obvious reason I'm ok with a video player or a game instead); is there a way to ignore its request for preventing sleep without affecting other applications? I know I could quit spotify when not using it, but I am prone to forget it and it's very annoying to find my mac completely drained... EDIT: to be clearer, I am not looking for a solution about Spotify specifically (I could simply uninstall it and forget about it), I am just looking for an option which is the default in both Linux and Windows, that is that the user always overrides any setting when he/she closes the lid.

Occasionally when I open the control center on my iPhone I notice that the speaker volume was set to 100%, or I'll be in public and I play a video or something and it blasts at max volume which is very annoying. I didn't do this; I suspect something is messing with the volume but I don't know what. I always keep the speaker volume all the way down. Here are my suspicions: - It seems to only happen when I'm using a bluetooth headset (AirPods) and I swap between different devices (iPhone and MacBook). - I mostly listen to Spotify. - An example: I'm listening to Spotify on my MacBook through AirPods meanwhile I'm doing something on my phone, then randomly I see the volume control slide in from the side at 100% as if I had pressed the volume up button. - The volume buttons on the side of my phone aren't broken. I really don't think this is the issue. I think Spotify might be hijacking the iPhone volume control when listening across different devices. If so, why is it doing this and can I stop it from doing that? Is there a permission or something I can revoke to prevent Spotify from doing that? iPhone 11, iOS 15.1

I want to map my mouse button 5 such that option + button 5 skips to the next track if pressed once, and if held down it continuously skips forward by 10 seconds. I've added the following rule to Karabiner:
{
  "title": "Mouse Button Remapping",
  "rules": [
    {
      "description": "Maps option + button 5 to next track",
      "manipulators": [
        {
          "type": "basic",
          "from": {
            "pointing_button": "button5",
            "modifiers": {
              "mandatory": [
                "option"
              ]
            }
          },
          "to_if_alone": [
            {
              "key_code": "rewind"
            }
          ],
          "to_if_held_down": [
            {
              "shell_command": "osascript -e 'tell application \"Spotify\" to player position' | awk '{ print $1 - 10 }' | xargs -I {} osascript -e 'tell application \"Spotify\" to set player position to {}'",
              "repeat": true
            }
          ]
        }
      ]
    }
  ]
}
For some reason though, when I hold down option + button 5, the track will skip forward 10 seconds just *once*. The weird thing is, if I replace the shell_command in the to_if_held_down block to just be "key_code" : "rewind", then a *ton* of rewind events are sent to Spotify. Is there a configuration option I'm missing? FWIW I'm also running bearded spice such that all media key events are sent solely to Spotify.

For the most part when Spotify is open, the "media" keys work fine. But every once and a while iTunes will pop up when you hit them. It'd be a lot nicer if you could just specify that Spotify is the default program when these keys are triggered, as oppose to iTunes. If it matters, I'm using Mountain Lion.

But do I need to open the spotify app when the device does have internet connection, or can I just leave it close, and it will automatically inform the server? In other words, do I need to take care about it and open the app when I do have connection, or this is done silently in background as soon as I connect to the internet (even with the app close) ?

Is there any trick to use the Desktop version of Spotify’s browser-based web player on an iOS device (e.g. iPhone)? On a Mac you can access it for instance using Chrome at open.spotify.com/browse. On the iPhone however you'll always get an "Unsupported Browser" warning regardless on whether you try Chrome, Firefox or Opera. According to my knowledge iOS is forcing those browsers to use Apple’s Web Kit, which is probably the reason for the incompatibility, due to the fact that Spotify has dropped Safari support long time ago. Explicitly requesting the Desktop view via iOS’ share sheet (or using the Puffin web browser) gives you a slightly wider layout, but there’s still no login option and no full-fledged web player. So the question is, whether there is any workaround!? Preferably with included support for uBlock Origin... ;)

However one thing I do miss is my global Media Keys. I'm primarily listen to Spotify and I know it has shortcuts but that requires me to make the Spotify window active which it rarely is. I've looked into both Google and the shortcut options Apple provides me and I have yet to find a way to set up a _global shortcut for the Media Keys (Next, Prev. Play/Pause)_ Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Lately, I keep getting kernel panics, with the report indicating that the culprit is the Spotify desktop app. I'm on a 2014 iMac, with huge amounts of RAM and free space, and I've done a hardware test and found nothing. Today, I reinstalled the Spotify desktop app, but that didn't help. (If anything, the kernel panics now seem more frequent.) I did find some old posts about Kernel panics from Spotify, and that Apple was working on a solution, but clearly whatever they cooked up didn't work. Is there anything else I might try?
