What's referred to as a "Unibody" mac?

                          I'm still confused with the use of this word.  In Everymac.com for example, Unibody macbook pros are 2008 to 2012 (up to Retinas).  But then it's also used in Macbooks (not Pros).

Is there a definition of this term that’s somewhat authoritative?
