Installing MacOS in Recovery Mode from internet or USB fails with Error code: 110

I am helping a friend install MacOS onto her MacbookPro14,1 2017. She purchased it new and it has had no modifications. The disk has been reformatted and from the Disk Utility in Recovery Mode looks fine. I have attempted to install from (Cmd+R) Recovery Mode via internet and an install USB. Both processes start as per normal and then proceed to what I guess is copying resources to the local drive, which takes about 10 minutes, but fails at the end with the below:

Any help would be much appreciated.
