Ensure macOS mail application is downloading and keeping locally all messages with IMAP

                          I have an IMAP email account.

I am reading my e-mails with macOS Mail application.

Emails are kept on server.

It seems they are also kept locally but I am not sure if it is a temporary cache.

Is there a way to be sure ALL emails (and attachment) will be kept on my local computer ?
