Does the Mac Mini Late 2012 model SATA controller support port multiplier?

I'd like to experiment connecting multiple drives to a Mac Mini (late 2012) model with a suitable SATA adapter. From what I have read, the SATA controller needs to supports port multipliers for this. Does this Mac Mini model have a SATA controller with the port multiplier feature? System report in SATA / SATA express section says it has "*Intel 7 series*" chipset.
