I’m running Fedora 42 installed on an external NVMe (2TB) drive connected to my MacBook Pro (Early 2015). My system setup is as follows:
CPU: Intel i7 (Broadwell, MacBook Pro)
Graphics: Intel Iris 6100
Fedora Version: Fedora 42 (Workstation)
Display Adapter: JUA365 - USB™ 3.0 to Dual HDMI™ Multi-Monitor Adapter (DisplayLink based)
DisplayLink Driver: Installed
EVDI module: Loaded
Secure Boot: Disabled
DisplayLink service: Running fine
Everything seems installed properly — but the external monitor still doesn’t turn on or get detected.
I've tried:
Manually restarting displaylink-driver.service
Reinstalling EVDI via DKMS
Reconnecting and powering monitor
Verified logs (journalctl) — no clear errors
I’m wondering if anyone using JUA365 or similar DisplayLink adapters has encountered and solved this issue on Fedora 41/42?
Is there a known issue with DisplayLink adapters (like JUA365) on Fedora 42?
Could this be a missing udev rule or a permissions/device node creation issue?
Anyone using a similar setup successfully?
Any tips, logs to check, or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
