We have a Docker Cassandra container running 6.8.21. At times when the container is restarted the the Logs show the usual startup activities and all just works well post that.
But on a few occasions we observed that an output similar to that of nodetool tpstats keeps getting printed over and over again. Posting a sample of the output below.
Need help:
1. Why is Cassandra Printing this? Is there some bottleneck that it has hit?
2. What does this log trying to tell?
3. What should be the next steps in our investigation?
Appreciate any help here.

I need to create a script to start and shut down a 12c database in rhel7 automatically when the operating system starts and shuts down, it turns out that I have tried the common options with dbstart and dbshut, but it only works for the listener, it does nothing with the database instance ... recently I did an migration of asm to the operating system's filesystem for that reason I disabled the start of asm since I didn't need it, I don't know if this would be influencing the dbstart and dbshut scripts Don't start, I have the oratab file like this:
myoradb:/u01/app/oracle/db/12.1:Y
The truth is that the content of these dbstart and dbshut seems a bit dense and I do not see where the problem could be so that they do not run correctly with the database instance.
Is there an example of how to create these scripts manually without using dbstart and dbshut ???
Thanks

I've got a file /etc/mysql/mysqld_multi_cls.cnf with everyting mariadb needs for multiple database instances.
I can start these instances with the following command:
sudo mariadbd-multi --defaults-file=/etc/mysql/mysqld_multi_cls.cnf start
But I can't find a (neat) way to start these instances at boot.
Adding the .cnf file in the /conf.d/ folder doesn't start the instance, unless I'm messing up unknowingly.
The db is running on a Raspberry pi5, Raspberry Pi OS, which is Debian based. And I am quite unfamiliar/noob with Linux.
After request, here is the .cnf file:

I have configured SCCM with a remote SQL server in the same domain, and it is working fine.
When I stop the SMS_EXECUTIVE service fo SCCM and SQL server in the remote machine, SQL server gets started automatically in a few minutes. I want to know who is responsible for automatically starting the SQL Server after manually stopping it. Before configuring SCCM server with that SQL instance, it never happened.
I have disabled the SQL Server Agent automatic restart of SQL server, so it can't be responsible.
Also I have not setup any recovery actions in services too
I also tried to check in taskschd.msc, don't have a clue on how to check this, attaching a screenshot for reference.
I want to know if SCCM is responsible for this behaviour(if so, how can I confirm that), or any scheduler or something is configured(automatically in the backend like a scheduler) in SQL server machine itself during the configuration of SCCM server.

I installed the Oracle 11g server on Ubuntu 12.10. But I can't start the server. When I start up the server, the following error occurs:
SQL> startup
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
LRM-00109: could not open parameter file '/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/dbs/initXE.ora'
How can I solve this issue? I think the connect failed because target host or object does not exist. How can a target host be specified?
Running:
$ ls -latr /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/dbs/initXE.ora
returns:
-rw-r--r-- 1 oracle dba 2637 Mar 13 17:07 /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/dbs/initxe.ora
Running
echo $ORACLE_SID
displays nothing - an empty line.

I don't know how to determine what is starting it, I don't see anything in my bash_profile and I don't see a feature in brew or pg_ctl that allows me to disable an auto-start configuration. I have no postgres files in /Library/LaunchAgents either. Thanks

> To create a DATAFILE and Assign it to a DATABASE, the instance can't be

To this end, I started reading the relevant Oracle documentation in the article Database and Instance Startup and Shutdown . In the section *How a Database is Mounted*, the following was stated (emphasis mine):
> How a Database is Mounted > = > The instance mounts a database to associate the database with that > instance. To mount the database, the instance finds the database > control files and opens them. Control files are specified in the > CONTROL_FILES initialization parameter in the parameter file used to > start the instance. Oracle then reads the control files to get the > names of the database's datafiles and redo log files. > > At this point, ***the database is still closed and is accessible only to > the database administrator***. The database administrator can keep the > database closed while completing specific maintenance operations. > However, the database is not yet available for normal operations. According to this passage, when the database is mounted it can be accessed by the database administrator. Does *access* here mean that the administrator can only perform read operations, or can also modify the database (e.g. by creating a datafile)?

Any possible cause for this? This is a box purely dedicated to the SQL server.

The OS is Ubuntu 20.04. I moved the data directory to a secondary disk. In the "Disks" utility, I clicked "Edit Mount Options", turned off "User Session Defaults", and specified a hard-coded Mount Point like
/mnt/database
, because by default it was mounted at something like /media/[user name]/disk label
. "Mount at system startup" had been checked (unchanged from default).
Now, postgresql's automatic start at the system startup fails with a message like: "[data directory] is not accessible or does not exist". If I manually start it, by executing sudo systemctl start postgresql
it starts fine. I suspect that the system tried to start postgresql before the secondary disk was automatically mounted. Is that so? If that is the case, how can I make it start after the secondary disk has been mounted?

I have been running Postgres on a Linode with the data directory mapped to an external volume. Yesterday Linode prompted me to upgrade my storage to NVMe so I did. Unfortunately, following that, Postgres is unable to start.
When I attempt to start the process it just hangs with no output. It is also impossible to stop at that point, implying that it is in an "uninterruptable sleep" state.
I've started Postgres with debug enabled and it doesn't output anything useful (as best I can tell):

MS SQL: Execute Database Request after Server Start
I need to execute a request (Stored Procedure) to MS SQL Server after Windows restart, i.e. as soon as the database is accessible. How can I do that? Is there a possibility to register a database event that fires after startup or a system event after a service started (here: SQL Server Service)?

I am planning a move of Postgres' data directory from one disk to another on a CentOS 7 server. All of the data and configuration files reside in
/var/lib/pgsql/12/data/
.
I have previously migrated data directories before, but this time I am going to migrate the configuration files (postgresql.conf
, pg_hba.conf
, etc.) from the existing data directory to a new one in /etc
. I see that the postgresql.conf
file has the following file location configurations, with the caveat that they are driven from the -D
option on startup, however startup is managed through systemctl
:
#data_directory = 'ConfigDir'
#hba_file = 'ConfigDir/pg_hba.conf'
#ident_file = 'ConfigDir/pg_ident.conf'
So my question is:
Will the changes in postgresql.conf
be all that needs to occur so the database starts up after migration -OR- is there something within systemctl
that needs to change in tandem with the configuration so it starts up as expected?
