Forgot Huawei G6-U10 PIN and Can’t Access Recovery Options

I forgot my Huawei G6-U10 PIN and tried multiple times but couldn’t unlock it. I searched online and found that pressing the Volume Up and Power buttons together should bring up recovery options. However, instead of the expected options, I see messages like “Check SD update pkg exists…” and “Make sure USB cable is inserted!update starting…” How can I fix this?
