Does Android 16 on a Google Pixel 9 or 9 Pro allow a choice between 16Kb and 4KB memory pages?
I have been using a borrowed Pixel 8 Pro with Android 15 for software testing. It can't do all my testing because it only has 128GB of storage, which is *not enough* for all my test data. I have been using a borrowed Pixel 8 Pro with Android 15 for software testing. It can't do all my testing because it only has 128GB of storage, which is *not enough* for all my test data. I've also had to return it to its owner.
It was running a [Google-provided build](https://source.android.com/docs/core/architecture/16kb-page-size/flash-pixel-with-16kb-kernel) of Android 15 that supports booting with [4KB or 16KB](https://developer.android.com/guide/practices/page-sizes) memory pages. This is, unsurprisingly, a switch in Developer Options.
Does Android 16 on a Pixel 9 or 9 Pro offer the same option? I need to buy a Pixel to get Android 16, and it would be very helpful if it could run with 16KB memory pages.

I’m using Firefox 143 on Android 13 and have set the *Open links in apps* setting to *Ask before opening* (not sure about the exact phrasing in English, my device is set to Dutch)
For some apps, this works, e.g., when I click on a link to a YouTube video, I'm asked to open the YouTube app. Same for a news app, the IMDb app, and some others.
However, for some other links, this does not work: mailto links do not seem to do anything, although I do see a progress bar in Firefox for a split second. Also, links to my banking app and another news app do not work. In Chrome, all links work properly.
I have already uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, but that did not fix the problem. Is there something I'm missing? Is there some setting that prevents opening external apps on a per-app basis?

Is there a way to temporarily adjust the aspect ratio?
I can see a couple different solutions:
1. Adjust the actual aspect ratio.
1. Add a black bar on the top / bottom of the display that effectively changes the aspect ratio.

I've been play this game TopHeroes and I noticed that when I press the side button to lock my phone and then go to unlock it again, it displays itself over the lock screen (similar to Google Maps).
I contacted their support and got told it was an Andriod update that caused this. However, doing some googling, it seems this issue is more than a year old (as seen on their discord help and reddit).
Some reseach would suggest android.permission.WAKE_LOCK might cause this behavior. But if ya'll have a better idea of what "andriod update" or "andriod setting" I need to adjust, that would be helpful.

What's the easiest way to do this while maintaining my data, like text messages? I would like root again. My phone doesn't have custom recoveries like TWRP.
I guess I could backup everything using neo, flash the phone, root it, and restore from the backups. But this seems like a lot of work and may be error prone. Is there a better way?

Before *Android OS 16*'s last update (to build #

But as of BP3A.250905.014
, **SMS** messages sent to you (which are required to login to your government accounts, or to use social services, or bank apps such as *Well's Fargo*, or to login to your *Google* account if you are stuck with 2-factor-authentication) are not shown, and you can not send **SMS** messages:
 .
If you click "More ways to veridy", Google's 2-factor-authentication has an option to enter a code for account access, but [build BP3A.250905.014
breaks the input box (the text input which you enter the code into)](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/262261/after-system-update-to-bp3a-250905-014-you-cannot-use-bluetooth-keyboard-to) . If you can disable 2-factor-authentication, that is a possible solution, but do not know how to.
How to restore **SMS**?
- Do you have to undo the update (roll back to the old version) to restore this ("Alt + Tab" switches)? Have the stock *Android OS* (not [**AOSP**](https://source.android.com/) , which includes sudo
); is it possible to go back to the old version on devices without sudo

- Do you have to purchase a new phone (and remember to disable all processes related to "updates" / "provisioning" (and *Google* still asks, refuse those))?
- If you can not refuse those: use without the **SIM** card (so *Google* can not force those), or [switch to a new **OS** (such as *Ubuntu Phone*) which allows you to use your phone](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/57674/ubuntu-for-android) ?

On my Samsung Galaxy SIII, one can go to
Settings -> More -> Security -> SIM card lock -> Set up SIM card lock -> Change SIM PIN
to change the default PIN that came with the SIM card. But what about the PUK (the 8-digit number that comes with the SIM card to unlock the card after 3 failed 4-digit PIN number attempts)? Can the PUK also be changed from within the Android GUI, or is it a fixed number stored on the SIM card which cannot be changed?
Thanks.

On a Mac desktop's Chrome, the website accepts this input, no problem. On Android, it cuts off the input in the middle of 1222, at 5000 characters, and I'm unable to type more. I've tried Brave, DuckDuckGo, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera. The behavior is the same in all these mobile browsers. Changing to the desktop layout in the browser settings has no effect.

Bypassing mobile detectability from the browser
First of all, I know that there is a "request desktop site" in the Android browser, but it doesn't solve my problem. I have this [site][1] and they have an Android app as well. I have this site and they have an Android app as well. Because of that, they want users to play videos from their app and not from the Android browser. But "for reasons", I want to play it on the browser. Defining user agents as
chrome/windows
didn't help either.
Do you guys have any idea how to do it?

Build BP3A.250905.014, replaces "Allow home screen rotation" (which used accelerometer) with "Landscape mode" (permanent on/off); how to restore this?

Before *Android OS 16*'s last update (to build #
BP3A.250905.014
), Home settings
had Allow home screen rotation
(if enabled, this uses the accelerometer so that home is vertical if the phone is vertical, or horizontal if the phone is horizontal.
- This was the sole option that allowed you to hide the *Google* search bar; if you disabled the *Google* app and enabled this option, then when your phone is horizontal, the *Google* search bar does not show.

But BP3A.250905.014
replaces this option with Landscape mode
(which is a permanent on/off switch).
- It is now not possible to hide the *Google* search bar unless you replace the stock launcher (such as with *Nova Launcher*, which is not recommended). With the new Landscape mode
, even with the *Google* app disabled and the phone horizontal, the *Google* search bar shows.

How to restore the old home view?
- Do you have to undo the update (roll back to the old version) to restore this ("Alt + Tab" switches)? Have the stock *Android OS* (not [**AOSP**](https://source.android.com/) , which includes sudo
); is it possible to go back to the old version on devices without sudo
?
- Do you have to purchase a new phone (and remember to disable all processes related to "updates" / "provisioning" (and *Google* still asks, refuse those))?
- If you can not refuse those: use without the **SIM** card (so *Google* can not force those), or [switch to a new **OS** (such as *Ubuntu Phone*) which allows you to use your phone](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/57674/ubuntu-for-android) ?

I looked in privacy settings for my Google account, but only found the option for search.
Is there some way to clear those recommendations or do I have to just keep browsing and installing other apps?

I have a Samsung Galaxy 25+ running Android 15. I used to use 'Hey Google' (I do not know how this is properly called) with unlocked and locked screens on this and previous phones.
After "something" (Android upgrade? switch to Gemini?) **I cannot have Google Assistant answer when the screen is locked anymore**. The answer from the phone is (more or less, I use the French version) *"I can do that but first you will need to unlock your phone"*.
I went through all the settings, the voice match procedure (twice) and I have enabled on the phone everything that is required
This screenshot shows that the Assistant can access personal data
This one states that the functionalities of Google Assistant are available on the locked device
It states that in order to gain access to the Assistant when it is locked (yes, I do not understand either), I must match my voice and enable *Hey Google*. Which is the case:
So WTF is missing?? The settings are super difficult to find, I manage to get to them via some weird searches but never step by step. There may be something else I need to enable that I did not find - but where?

Is it something possible to do or I imagining things?

I have a Jabra Move headset that has been working wonderfully for months. However, today it started having connection problems to my Motorola Moto Z: it connects and remains connected indefinitely, as long as I don't start playing any sound.
If I have sound from Google Music or Facebook, the headset plays 3 seconds, disconnects, and reconnects. I have no idea how to solve this.
Here's what I tried:
1. Restarting the mobile phone
2. Restarting the headset
3. Reset the headset
4. Unpairing and pairing back
I am running Android 7.1.1.
I have no idea how to fix this, please help.
