Unlocking Samsung and Apple phone, but have no passcode can I retrieve any data?
I’ve recently separated with my husband and I found two phones that I didn’t know about one as a Samsung one is an Apple iPhone. Both both are dead. Is it possible when they are charged to achieve any information? If I don’t know the passcode?

I feel like I should have been able to find the answer to this, maybe I'm distracted or something, but does anyone know how carrier/network/sim lock actually works and if there are any workarounds? Say I wanted to make one of those unlocking services. What is the process? I saw a couple answers from some years ago, they all seem fairly vague and as if it's actually an unknown, so I'm not sure if that's current information. It seems inevitable that someone would have leaked or reverse engineered that information by now, right?

It happens to me occasionally to forget phone somewhere, usually when working on the field, so I have custom text displayed on LOCK SCREEN " If you find me, please call ". And it is super efficient, usually people call that number even before I realize I forgot phone. But this only works when phone SIM is unlocked. If phone gets out of juice and powers off, when powering on SIM unlock prompt will pop up. So, before I give laser engraved emergency number to back of casing, I am wondering if some customized message could be written on SIM unlock screen?

I use Keepass2Android to store my password, credentials and other sensitive information. For me it makes sense to use use it to store the PIN of my SIM card as well, so that I don't have to remember it. But when I reboot my phone (moto g73) I get the window with the *unlock sim* form and I would like to skip this step and look up the SIM on my keepass and then unlock the SIM. But it seems that this is not possible, at least I cannot find any setting related to that. The only thing that I can find is to disable the SIM locking entirely but I want my sim to be locked. I just want to unlock it after I looked up the SIM on keepass. Is this even possible?

I have a rather unusual scenario for which I need your help. I am running an OP9 Pro with Nameless ROM A13 and Microsoft Intune forced me to set a 8-digit PIN. After the last update however, Nameless started to automatically decrypt (FBE) after entering 4 digits after booting even though I need to enter 8 digits, which is probably a bug. When going into TWRP recovery, the decryption with the 8 digit code works just fine, so I backed up my data in case a reset is needed. However I am wondering if there is any other way via ADB to change the PIN back from 8 to 4 digits. When in
shell
, it says
:/ # locksettings clear -- old XXXXXXXX XXXX
/system/bin/sh: locksettings: inaccessible or not found
Maybe I'm missing something here. Would appreciate your help. Thanks Edit: Would it be sensible to try to dirty flash another ROM without said "bug" over this? Edit 2: This circumstance actually prevents me from using my phone, as it automatically tries to unlock after entering 4 digits (even though 8 are needed) and therefore fails to unlock. By decryption in TRWP I knew that the 8 digit PIN is still correct and in place.

I recently flashed a custom ROM on my Samsung I9300. Everything is working fine, except I have to enter a 'SIM network unlock PIN'. I assume, that this is not the usual 4-digit PIN code. If I enter the correlating correct 4-digit PIN, it says 'SIM Network unlock request unsuccessful'. - I tried different SIMs from different providers which are working in a different mobile phone. - The problem appears with Slim 5.1.1 and 4.4.4, CM12.1 and OmniROM 5.1. My phone was running stock firmware Android 4.3 and I never had this problem (even if I once changed my provider). There are plenty of tutorials about how to unlock the I9300, but none worked so far, there are also many non-free services for unlocking which seems rather untrustworthy to me. It would be new to me, if the phone is or was ever branded. There is the possibility to unlock the phone by using the service menu by entering the secret/hidden code - *#*#197328640#*#* like shown in this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1hzeBEeO_k . Why is the code (or others) in Slim not working? Could you please verify too that the only possibility to unlock the SIM is to buy a specific unlock code?

I'm currently having problems unlocking my Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. I've tried hard resetting it through the old volume down (or up) + power but it always ends up showing "No command", no matter how many times I try it.
I've also tried entering recovery mode through ADB, but being that USB debbuging is disabled, it won't even detect the device.
I don't have a Google account linked to the phone, so I don't know what else to do.
All support is appreciated, thank you.

I had seen something on a forum on a page about a cell phone model where it was said that the "U" stands for unrootable. When I search for details about rooting the T227U I get pages talking about the "T227" saying it is indeed rootable. Does the U stand for unrootable? Is the T227U rootable? What exactly do the suffix letters on a Samsung tablet indicate?

Now, these guys are telling me that the code is for the phone's "Network unlock" not the "SIM unlock", and if I don't remember the PIN, I will need the PUK code from my network provider, so I feel that I paid for something I don't need. This is the first time I try to do this and I feel frustrated. I would really appreciate any help.
