It won't let me use Google assistant through talkback or edit the emergency information.

Last week I got a (used) Samsung Note20 Ultra with AT&T. It has Android 11, One UI 3.1 and Security Patch March 1, 2021. Although it is now discontinued, but it was upgradable to Android 13 and One UI 5. Can I still get those "old" updates that this phone was upgradable to? If I try to update it, it says, "Software Update Interrupted. No updates are available for your device at this time. Please try again in 24 hours." It has been saying this for a week now.

I'm getting a "cannot connect to the server" error when I try to use Hangouts on my phone. Every other Google app works. SMS works but not Hangouts messages. All my other devices work with Hangouts messages.

I have a Motorola Photon Q unlocked and running lineage. It's a 4G LTE phone and yet I'm told that it won't work after the February 22nd 3G sunset because it "doesn't support AT&T HD Voice". This is a requirement that was never mentioned to me before. Previously, all I had been told was it had to be 4G LTE. So, is there a way to make this phone capable of using AT&T HD Voice? Or at the very least trick it into thinking it's capable? I need this to work and I'm running out of time and options.

The only problem is that I do not know how to do this on a somewhat old tablet such as this. The tablet in question is: 1. The operating system is an Android 5.0.2 or Lollipop. I was following the instructions on how to install the Custom Rom but I struggle with rooting portion of it. The recommended rooting programs such as Kingaroot or iRoot have failed and I think bricked my tablet. I am looking fomr more hlp with this. Can anyone help with rooting my tablet?

I'm having a strange issue with a Motorola Photon Q. The Photon Q is carrier locked to Sprint but has long since been paid off. I have the IMEI and the MSL code to unlock the device to use with other carriers, but I've hit a roadblock in actually getting it unlocked. I called Sprint and the guy that answered seemed very helpful. He tried to unlock the phone. He even read through the manual to try to make this work. In the end he talked to his supervisors and informed me that because of how old the Photon Q is they can't unlock it through IMEI and that I need to go to the carrier that the phone will be used with, AT&T, and have them unlock it using the MSL code. So, I went to AT&T to talk with them about unlocking it with the MSL code and they didn't even seem to know what an MSL code was. I explained to them exactly what the Sprint guy explained to me several times but they didn't seem to understand. They wanted the IMEI, which didn't work. They kept asking me if it was an AT&T phone. Nothing I said seemed to get through and I still don't know how to unlock this phone. So, how do I unlock this phone, the Motorola Photon Q, to be used with non-Sprint carriers like AT&T?

Starting at exactly 3pm (EST) on Sunday two weeks in a row my phone could not receive SMS text messages. It could send SMS, send and receive calls, and send and receive MMS (mutli-media messages). I was using the stock messaging client. This is on an Samsung Rugby Smart running Android 2.3.6, with AT&T as the carrier. How do I get text messaging to work again?

I'm trying to encrypt my Samsung Galaxy S5 (AT&T) and it only allows me to use a 16-character passphrase for my encryption key. Is there a way to bypass this or change the encryption key to something longer? This is really annoying at best and is a bad security practice to limit the size of the passphrase. (Android internally uses the Linux dm-crypt method for encrypting the disk, which doesn't mention such password-length restrictions, and I've used it in the past with very long passphrases.)

I have a G930A, un-rooted, running AT&T's version of Oreo (8.0.0). I received an OTA update over the weekend and cannot use Google Calendar since--app force stops. I also cannot do a calendar insertion from Tasker. I have, of course reinstalled, cleared system cache, twiddled permissions, even factory reset, but am getting nowhere. Wife's phone has same update, but calendar is working fine. Baseband G930AUCS8CRK1 Build R16NW.G930AUCS8CRK1 Security patch level November 1, 2018 Any thoughts?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 that I want to install Android 5.1 on. AT&T released this as an OTA last year (https://www.att.com/devicehowto/tutorial.html#!/stepbystep/id/stepbystep_KM1143907?make=Samsung&model=GalaxyS4I337) , but I whenever I check for updates it says nothing is available. The phone is currently running Android 4.4. Could this be because I'm currently living abroad and accessing the internet via local Wi-Fi? Is there another way to get the update?

It was locked to the Boost Mobile network (Sprint) before I supposedly unlocked it with Odin, but using the ATT SIM card says it's not supported for the device. I've spoken to both companies and neither seems to be able to help. Thanks for any advice

My Samsung Galaxy S3 won't connect to my AT&T U-Verse router. I've gone through AT&T help and they say it's the phone. I've gone through Sprint (phone & service provider) and they say nothing is wrong with the phone. Samsung support also says nothing wrong with the phone. It connects to unsecured networks no problem. If I turn security "off" on my U-Verse router, it connects no problem. With security "on", I get an "authentication error occurred" error message on the phone, even though the status bar on the phone shows it sees my router at excellent strength. I have verified the password with correct upper and lower case. I've connected to several unsecured WiFi without issue. The only secured network I have connected to is at work. I know they don't have U-Verse, but I have no idea what the WiFi brand is. It connects no problem with security on and my office password. The phone is running Android 4.0.4. I've changed router settings to use channel 11 and power level 400. I've rebooted the router and reset the phone. I can also see the phone's MAC address on the router, so I know they are seeing each other.

I'm using an LG G5 with an AT&T mobile plan. My wifi keeps turning off and back on every 30 to 60 seconds. If I enable wifi in the settings, it just disables itself 30 to 60 seconds later... and then 30 to 60 seconds after that, it turns itself back on... and it just cycles like this. I've googled this problem and can tell that several people have had this problem, but none of the relevant solutions seem to work.

So, my mom has had a Galaxy S5 phone for awhile, but I went into her room today and found her old Galaxy S5. She claims it's not working properly, so I offered to try and fix it. I spent a few minutes messing with the phone and I noticed that I could not get the screen to turn on, but the phone vibrates when I plug it in, and my PC makes the device connected sound. I'd like to know how to reset the phone to factory settings, but also flash a custom ROM onto it. (In this case, I want to flash Resurrection Remix) My mom will be okay with this since she doesn't use the phone I'm trying to work with anymore. The phone is of the AT&T variant. Edit: I asked my mom about the screen problem. She stated that the top of the screen started to dim and within 48 hours the screen wouldn't turn on at all.

I keep getting this one notification from Call Services on an AT&T LG G5 that says "Mobile Data Turned Off." Indeed, mobile data is turned off when I switch from cellular data to a wi-fi connection, but I don't need this notification. How can I stop this notification from appearing? My one thought would be to have an app that blocks notifications that contain that certain text, but I haven't been able to find an app that does this. Notifications from Call Services can't be blocked in Notifications settings.

My son just got the ATT ZTE Z831 Android and I am putting in a 32GB sd card. I was wondering if this phone has an internal storage option.

My wife is getting some weird text messages as replies in middle of conversations with her friends. The messages are blocks of Chinese characters. She gets these in the stock messaging app from friends that use Samsung phones and iPhones. She is using a Nexus 5X on AT&T. (**N.B.** Other users have asked the same question about the Samsung Galaxy S7, so it's not a phone-specific issue.)
