How can I import an [ICS file](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICalendar) into S-Planner on my Galaxy S7 ?
An ICS file is an exported calendar from another application.
Btw: I know how to use Google calendar and then sync S-Planner with it but I definitely don't want to merge Google calendar with S-Planner calendar. The calendar I want to import into S-Planner is an independent calendar.
If S-Planner cannot import an ICS file, an alternative would be to have a Google calendar imported (not sync'ed) into S-Planner.
Thanks.

Netflix and Hulu have both apps for the Samsung Gear VR headset, but Amazon Video doesn't have an app. So my question is, is there any way to watch Amazon Video on Samsung Gear VR?
I tried going to the Amazon Video website on the Samsung Internet VR web browser, but when I click an episode it just tells me to download the "Amazon Underground" app, which is a non-VR app for watching Amazon Video on the Samsung Galaxy S7. Also, I tried clicking "request computer version" in the Samsung VR browser, to trick the site into thinking that I'm on a computer, but then Amazon just displays a message that your browser is not supported.
Is there any way to change the user agent of the Samsung VR browser to something which makes Amazon play the video?

What should I enter as my gateway and DNS 1 in my Galaxy S7's Wi-Fi settings to fix the particular Wi-Fi issue I'm having?

I was following this user's advice on how to fix
the internet may not be available
issue on my Galaxy S7. He said that in the Galaxy S7's Wi-Fi settings for the network you're connected to, you should change the IP address to static and then enter your router's IP address where it says "gateway" as well as where it says "DNS 1". What confused me about this a bit was that I use a Wi-Fi mesh setup in which my phone should actually connect to the router I'm using as a repeater, since it's more nearby, rather than the one that's the master. So I was wondering which of those I should enter and if it makes a difference.
To describe the issue further: My Galaxy S7 sometimes just doesn't have internet, for hours on end, and upon checking, I once noticed it displayed the error "internet may not be available" with an exclamation mark next to its wifi symbol. This wasn't an issue until recently, despite not really having changed anything about my setup.
I can temporarily resolve the issue by rebooting my S7.
Another thing to take note of is that I don't use the S7 in a normal way. Instead, it's just permanently plugged into an AC adaptor and is supposed to act as a smart home-controlled alarm clock and mirror calendar notifications onto my other devices.
To resolve the issue, I already unsuccessfully tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps that some website suggests:
- Rebooting my router
- Checking proxy is turned off and DCIHP is turned on
- Deleting the network off my S7 and re-adding it
- Uninstalling VPN apps
- Making sure router and phone have the latest software
Running Android 8, btw. My local network environment is just a normal home network with like a dozen devices with a mesh. I'm using two FritzBox 7490s. One is the master, and the other is the slave. The two are one floor apart from each other, and each covers a 70m² apartment. My S7 typically displays 3 out of 4 bars for Wi-Fi.

Pressing

What else can be done?
**UPDATE**
I am trying to take screenshow of an application, which I am debugging. When I run debug, it requests to close device monitor, so the third way of taking screenshots via device monitor also doesn't work.
**UPDATE 2**
Disabling swipe didn't help. Now it is impossible to take screenshot from within device at all.

I would like to enable Do Not Disturb on a phone via ADB. I have located the settings namespace and key which controls Do Not Disturb:
adb shell settings put global zen_mode 2
But when I run this command and then get the key its value remains set to "0". If I enable Do Not Disturb manually on the phone, then look at the key, it shows "2" as I expect.
I am using stock Samsung S7/S7 Edge phones, with Android 7.0, not rooted.
Is there a step missing in order to toggle this particular setting via ADB? Thus far I haven't had issues changing any other settings in this way, so it's confusing why this does not work.

I just upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S7 (2016) to Moto G Stylus 5G (2021). Moto G Stylus 5G 2021 has 4 cameras advertising a 48MP camera - but to my jaw-dropping surprise, the quality of pictures coming out of this 2021 camera is nearly equivalent, on the worse side than my S7.
When I zoom into the pictures (I have made sure conditions are normalized and equivalent for taking the photos for each camera), the S7 images for the same 12MP resolution look sharper and clearer hands down.
What good are the additional 3 cameras on Moto G? Where is the rest of the power of this 48MP camera (vs S7's lone 12MP sensor)? What could be the reason for this surprising lack of improvement (more like digression) from the 2016 technology with far fewer sensors? I am completely baffled. Am I missing something fundamental about perhaps limitations posed by the Android OS on the camera systems (I have tried every conceivable camera setting, so that's not an issue)? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a way to make Android/a Galaxy S7 prompt Win 7 to install the drivers for MTP?
I own two S7 I use for work, one I've had for a while and used it to develop Android apps, the second I got a week ago and set it up today. Both I updated to Nougat 7.0 today (they were both on 6.0 with different Builds) and my old one instantly made Windows install the drivers for MTP and PTP but the new one only did it for PTP. I can still access everything on it with MTP but Eclipse/Android Studio/adb devices don't see it with that.
I tried killing the adb server, unplugging, restarting, changing the setting to PTP and back,... but nothing has worked so far.
The devloper mode and USB debugging are enabled on both S7s and I also updated the Google USB driver and installed the Android 7.0 SDK Platform through the Android SDK Manager today. The latest version of Kies is installed too but it also can't see the new S7 in MTP mode (to be honest, didn't test with PTP mode).
So, is there a way to kind of reset the whole MTP deal on the new S7 (preferebly without resetting the phone), so it makes Win 7 look for drivers again?
Bonus question: Can I make Nougat's developer settings' USB debugging default to PTP? Every time I unplug the phone, Android sets it back to MTP.

In android bluetooth scan menu, the scanned devices are given various icons which specify the type of device that they are reporting themselves to be
What are device types 1 and 2 shown in this picture, and where can I get a list of all possible device types and their icons? Is this icon list specific to a smartphone or is it from the default android?
This screenshot is from Samsung galaxy s7 with android 8.0.0
Edit: or is there any way to probe for this information through adb or something?
Edit2: for anyone interested I downloaded an app called Bluetooth scanner and it shows device 1 as "Unknown". So may be that's just what this icon means.

So this is happening for the last 2 weeks. Whenever I (short) press the home button on my Galaxy S7 (on Android 8.0.0) specifically in the (facebook) messenger app it registers as a long click (opening the google assistant until i disabled it). I'm not sure if it is a messenger problem since Im sure I had this happen in the playstore app as well but cant replicate it right now (so right now its only happening in messenger app). I played around with the Tasker and Automate apps around the time this started happening, but I have also uninstalled them around that time. Might just be a coincidence. I have tried reinstalling the messenger app but that didnt help.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this or at least give me some pointers on how I might troubleshoot it?
Edit: definitely happens in other apps as well but still mostly in messenger

My Samsung Galaxy S7 appears to have burn in, just like in this image:
(Not my phone. Image from Android Authority )
The difference is that no matter how hard I look, I can't see any icons or any other irregularities in the white bar. It appears to be perfectly uniform. It's exactly where my notification bar is in portrait mode, but I use my phone in landscape mode a lot too, and there is no colour/brightness difference at the side.
Also, the white bar is _brighter_ than the remainder of the screen: I would expect burn in to make it duller.
What is causing this?
1. burn in
2. hardware
3. software

I'm trying to move a game of about 11gb on to the card but the transfer gets to 77% then tells me there's not enough storage space. I have 50gb+ space free on the card.
I've checked the card for faults using Windows and it says it's fine.
The only form of formatting available, using my phone, is portable storage. I've read that certain versions of android prevent or restrict the use of sd cards.
Is this what the problem is? Is there a way around it without rooting my phone?

I can, however, get into download mode, but the phone is not recognized by USB connection. (From what I read a year ago, I think that this is an issue with some Samsung Galaxy S7 phones. It has not worked for a while).
Is there a way to install/get in recovery without a USB connection (since the USB is not recognized). The USB connection does put power into the device so the issue is likely with the connection and data transfer.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge on Android 6.0. I usually take videos and photos and then get a message from the Camera app that I can't use the app anymore since my phone memory/RAM is full. I usually connect the phone to a PC and then download and delete the photos from the phone, and it's back running fine. The last time when it was full, I noticed it was going to take forever to transfer.
I checked the phone's DCIM Camera folder and noticed some 8GB JPEG images. Strange, and I thought they were created while I was "shooting video" and the phone may have been low on space already, and I was hitting that PHOTO button during video shooting to also get some photos during the video shooting.
Interestingly, in the Windows folder preview, I could even see a small "preview" of the actual JPEG image even though it was 8GB in size supposedly, but I could not "open it", may have complained of RAM or some other issue can't remember.
I also noticed there were some files that had corrupted file names like:
2018Ȱ620_160140
, basically after the "2018", some kind of strange mark above O.
The issue/complaint is, well I can't really remember for "sure" if even the 8GB file photos displayed perfectly fine on my phone, but all the others that I at least know for sure looked all great on the phone but were *corrupt* if I tried to view them on my computer. It didn't matter if I viewed the version I copied to my computer, *or* if I viewed it on PC directly from my phone.
The phone does not use any SD card, only the built-in RAM/memory it came with, etc.
I just retried everything with a different USB cable, no difference. I had also rebooted the phone in case anyone wondered, made no difference.
Why are my photos all being corrupted when I transfer/copy them to my computer?

I've searched around, and so I can ensure that this is not a duplicate.
- Smart Network Switch is off
- Keep Wifi on during sleep
- Wifi works excellent for other devices
- Wifi disconnects randomly even while the screen is open and device is in use
I opened up the Developer options, and turned on "Wi-Fi verbose logging" and when it disconnected, I saw these messages:
- NETWORK_SELECTION_PERMANENTLY_DISABLED
- NETWORK_SELECTION_DISABLED_BY_WIFI_MANAGER=2
Also in another occasion these:
- NETWORK_SELECTION_DISABLED_BY_ASSOCIATION_REJECTION=1
- NETWORK_SELECTION_DISABLED_BY_WIFI_MANAGER=1
The issue seems to be since installing an application, but I've uninstalled all recent applications on my phone, and it hasn't gotten better.
Safemode seemed to fix it, so there must be some kind of application interference, but the Wifi Control History only lists applications that turned on the wifi.
My only solution so far has been to disable wifi and re-enable it, or open up the wifi network manager in android, and tap the wifi connection. (presumably to override the 'network selection disabled')
-----------------------------
Some logcat details:
[ 08-14 13:44:35.460 1364: 2509 E/WifiStateMachine ]

When turnnig wifi back on, I sometimes see:
WifiStateMachine: There are no configured ssid
followed by many SSIDs of wifis I've already used. The SSID in range is not listed. Perhaps because the SSID in range is marked 'permanently disabled' (see above)
----
Additional Edit, more info:
- I'm unable to reliably replicate this. It only disconnects when I'm assuming it'll work, and it doesn't seem to be crashing while I'm trying to use it.
- I got a disconnect while doing a beyondpod (podcast app) update: https://pastebin.com/Edx7ADXZ Things to note:
- I could not duplicate it with just the podcast app
- If you search in the log for beyondpod, you'll see more information about where the disconnect happens. Sometime before: "08-23 12:53:46.600"
----
Update 3:
I wiped my phone, and it was fine for a while, but it came back. The same error codes:
NETWORK_SELECTION_PERMANENTLY_DISABLED
and NETWORK_SELECTION_DISABLED_BY_WIFI_MANAGER=2
I guess wiping it was not sufficient.
Is there anything I can run to constantly reset my wifi (when the hardware switch is on) to effectively cancel out whatever is turning it off?

My Samsung Galaxy S7 is completely unresponsive for day and a half, black screen, only blue LED is shining with a slight pulse. According to [this guide](https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/what-do-the-notification-light-colours-mean-on-my-samsung-galaxy-smartphone/) , it means "the device is turning on or off". For a day and a half already!
So I tried this advice:
> Press and hold the “Power” and “Volume Down”
> buttons for eight to twenty seconds and the device will eventually
> turn off.
Then I tried [this advice](https://forums.androidcentral.com/ask-question/992633-galaxy-s7-wont-turn-wont-force-restart-blue-led-solid.html) :
> Try pressing and holding Power and Vol Down for about 30 seconds, then
> wait a few seconds, then press and hold Power again for another 30
> seconds.
Then I tried different sequences [as advised here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LP4sD3AAWEA) :
> up+power 20 secs
> down+power+home
> up+power+home
Nothing worked. Charging didn't help. Before this happened, my phone was gradually slower and slower in the last month, until it became super slow, as I [asked here](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/247038/what-to-do-when-phone-is-super-slow) . Some time before the freeze happened, I also removed the SIM card and micro SD card from the tray. Now I put back the SIM card, the system still stuck.
PS: 10 minutes after the key combo attempts I noticed the battery and display is heated. Interesting.
PS: after 2.5 days the battery finally died and the blue light stopped pulsing. I charged it a little, but now it doesn't even turn on. No response whatsoever.

I've recently broken the screen of my Samsung Galaxy S7 (model number: SM-G390F). USB debugging should be enabled, however MTP seems to be disabled as data cables (work for file transfer with other phones but not for this one) are able to charge it (vibrates when plugged in), but neither the file explorer nor the adb list of devices features it.
Are there any way to force the recognition, to get around it not being detected, to mirror the screen or use a different output, to check if the touch is still active or both screen and touch are broken? To figure out where one would need to do blind presses to enable the necessary permissions?
So far I've tested several cables and are in possession of data micro-USB cables for data transfer, I tried to access it via adb and failed, I tried to do this power, home, vol up or down, but I don't see a result with screen broken. I've read several post on this topic but they are either outdated or weren't successful. Are there any options that come to mind on how to access and recover the data on the phone?
Edit: The only response left from the screen is that the pseudobuttons left and right from the home button light up when I press the home or power button. Also the light in the top left is occassionally blue or red (when charging). Attempts to take screenshots on an sd card (unfortunately only inserted after the screen stopped working) have not been successful, though that could just be a me issue and not a phone issue, I'll keep trying later).

Notice that's not a zero; it's two parentheses. That's literally what appears in the settings. However, the phone must **think** of it as a zero, because the screen goes dark immediately when I'm not touching it (and then I have to enter my password again).
This setting change also happens if I have the Power Mode in "Maximum Power Saving" and I switch to a different Power Mode. I don't think it happens in Safe Mode.

EDIT: Yes, Cody: I can set the timeout to any value, but when the phone restarts or comes out of "Maximum Power Saving", the timeout is reset to "**()**".
