I've been play this game TopHeroes and I noticed that when I press the side button to lock my phone and then go to unlock it again, it displays itself over the lock screen (similar to Google Maps). I contacted their support and got told it was an Andriod update that caused this. However, doing some googling, it seems this issue is more than a year old (as seen on their discord help and reddit). Some reseach would suggest android.permission.WAKE_LOCK might cause this behavior. But if ya'll have a better idea of what "andriod update" or "andriod setting" I need to adjust, that would be helpful.

Since the old phone ran out of space I got a new one with 4x storage space. Now I'm trying to transfer all the data from the old one to the new one. Alas, data transfer fails because there's not enough space on the **old** device. Aye! I am upgrading because the old phone doesn't have any space left, and the data transfer to the new phone fails for the same reason. IDK why the extra space is needed on the phone the data is being transfer **from**, which is the first question: why does android need that? Now, the practical one. The suggestion on the screen doesn't really work either: one of the items I'm transferring, the Messages, is causing the transfer to fail even when no other items are selected. Could you suggest a way to transfer all that without any significant storage requirements on the device the data is copied from? Maybe some configuration parameter that would allow the data from the same category to be copies piecemeal in an automatic batch of smaller transfers? Failed data transfer

I recently got a Samsung S25. Since then I regularly notice its failing to show text when I try to type something in the address of my chrome browser. EDIT: Now that I have the page a bit longer, I am starting to wonder if its somehow related to lichess in incognito mode (that would mean a site could have impact on how you type in the address bar?! Today I actually managed to get a screenshot as you can see that the address bar is empty while the type suggestions are showing. The problem is not happening all the time, perhaps a few times per day. I did not notice it in other apps, but I also don't use any other browsers, if that matters. This eliminates any concerns about whether the keyboard actually picks up the letters, but I am not sure about how to go forward. I found a recommendation to do a full reboot, that did not have any effect. enter image description here

Why did the touchscreen randomly become unresponsive after updating to Android 15?

On August 8, I updated my Samsung Galaxy A14 to Android 15 (One UI 7). Everything seemed fine, but suddenly the touchscreen started to become unresponsive. If the display is on, there is no problem. However, if I turn it off with the side button, when I turn it back on, the touchscreen suddenly becomes unresponsive - the phone is unusable. Only the side buttons work, so I set it to turn on the weather with a double click. However, this brings up a screen for drawing an unlock pattern, which I can't enter at the moment. I have to turn the screen on/off for a minute at a time before it starts responding. I set the volume up button to answer a call, so I can also make calls in that situation, but that's it. I've needed to pay or buy a ticket several times and it was quite frustrating. It's clear that the problem is related to the Android 15 update (it never happened before), but it's not at all clear how to solve it? Maybe a factory reset would help, but I don't have time to set everything up again right now. And it's not even clear if it would help. Please help

Determine if your Android was compromised?
I have an Android that's been shutting off on its own. Is there a way to determine if my phone has been compromised/hacked? Is there software you can install on a phone, like Norton AV, or something to make sure your phone is secure? Or is it just not possible to get a virus on a phone?

Unfortunately, I lost my phone yesterday, it was Samsung S24 Ultra phone. I had enabled all the safety features on the device for both Google (Find Device) and Samsung's own tracking service. However, the thief has turned the device off and it has not been switched on since, not even without network, wifi, or SIM. I had enabled the "find my device even when offline" settings; however, even this setting would require the device to be at least switched on. I am now trying to recover the Google Maps timeline using another device, but I am encountering this message: **For security, you can no longer access your encrypted data on this device. Try again using a device that you've recently used to sign in to your Google Account.** **Visit g.co/OnDeviceEncryption to learn more.** An important piece of information — I promptly changed my Google account password after the theft (I still know both the old and the new passwords). I even tried changing it back to the old password, thinking that the encryption might be tied to it, but I am still seeing the same error message. How do I get past this screen and regain access to my data? Needless to say, I am extremely upset not just because of losing an expensive device, but also because I am at risk of losing access to over two decades of my maps timeline history. Any help will be appreciated. <img src=" class="img-fluid rounded" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto; margin: 10px 0;" loading="lazy">

I'm looking for a way to send HTTP request to specific URL and integrate that with Google Assistant. So when I say "Ok Google, turn on the lights" it will trigger some kind of custom action that will take care of the rest. My initial idea is to utilize the HTTP Shortcuts app, and I was able to create shortcut in Launcher (Samsung Galaxy S24U) which works perfectly fine when opened manually. Then I tried to run it with Google Assistant by defining custom routine with action, but it doesn't seem to work (nothing happens). I tried to define actions such as: - Open the "Turn on the lights" shortcut in "HTTP Shortcuts" app - open http-shortcuts://aaaa-bbbb-ccc It recognizes my command, but doesn't run the shortcut at all, like it doesn't understand how to run it. How to configure Google Assistant to perform such task? I don't want to use 3rd party solutions like IFTTT.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 stuck on Android 5.0.2. I wanted to upgrade the software to LineageOS. There is a lot of information out there, but nothing that can help me. A few things first that I need to share. I'm using a Mac. I once unlocked my device and Knox is now void, so it must be unlocked. I can't tell if the bootloader is unlocked. I tried to check using an app, but came back with an error of "Sorry! root access is not properly installed on this device". The tablet is in developer mode, there is no OEM mode or anything like that, and USB debugging is turned on. I have tried several things using Terminal but they didn't work with homebrew and ADB services. These are installed on my Mac. I got as far as trying to add fastboot devices, and it was denied on the terminal, but that probably makes sense if the bootloader is locked. Most instructions imply that you know what to do and don't explain much. Can anyone please assist with step-by-step instructions so I can complete the process of installing LineageOS?

I've found numerous guides online on how to fix the missing OEM unlock toggle on Samsung Galaxy S9 (SM-G960U) running Android 10. I've been able to follow all steps except for the last one before rebooting the phone. And that step is going into software update and unchecking ***download updates automatically*** and checking ***download updates manually***. The problem is that those options don't exist! I can only tap on ***Check for updates*** and there's a grayed-out option that says ***Continue update***. I don't know if this is true, but I think it's the same as going into developer options and switching off ***auto-update system***, which I was able to do. Either way, I still wasn't able to fix the missing button, even after following this guide I was just talking about. I've seen other guides and they talk about the same thing that this one does. Can someone help me unlock my OEM unlock button, please? --- As of now, I played around with my phone and found out the reboot to bootloader option in the menu after starting the phone with **power key + volume up + Bixby key**. I didn't know what that was going to do but when I selected that, a light blue screen came on and said downloading... do not turn off target. There's an option to cancel it, but I want to see what happens. Maybe I didn't have a bootloader at all? (sounds crazy because I need a bootloader to start my phone, so maybe it's downloading something else?). In either case, I'll keep this question posted with any new info.

I have a Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace, running Android 5.1.1. I want to root it now, and I have installed its respective system firmware from Frija. Initially, I followed David Bombal's tutorial on how to root Android (he used Magisk), but later found out that it is only supported for Android 6+, and so it is not applicable. I have tried Kingroot, Kingoroot, SuperSU, Magisk, Ding Dong Root, etc., and none support the device. I decided that if I unlock the bootloader and then upload a custom ROM using Odin, the phone might get rooted. Just asking if this technique will work. (I am a Windows/Linux user and don't know much about rooting, just had a useless phone) If not, then how?

My Samsung Galaxy A32 restarted itself and now is stuck at this 'Phone is starting...'. I googled ways to resolve this but none work, The last option\resort is to factory wipe, but I have images on here that I have not yet copied to the SD card or cloud stuff setup (yes, I know I should). I tried to see if I could see the data via the ADB debugging option but it's all 'empty', I suppose it's not allowing me to view it until it 'loads'? I tried the wipe cache partition, restarting multiple times, turning off and waiting then powering back on, and rebooting in safe mode, somewhere mentioned to turn battery saver mode off but it was already off + the toggle didn't work but I managed to get to it via the Settings menu (the only thing I can access) and thought I'll turn it on then off... now it won't turn off, entering the 'download mode', then exit and reboot. Anything else I can try, all these applications to download to repair the phone seem dodgy or not what I need. I thought about downloading Odin and the firmware from somewhere to reinstall, but that would wipe all my data right? What about rooting it would that give me any functionality to access the data? Can I even root it if I can't install apps?

I would like to know is there any way to **backup Samsung A20s device through download mode/bootloader mode?** My device went into bootloop tried so many things only left to reinstall firmware but its lost user data so i need to backup before doing that any way? How it happens- - Charging over night besides my bed, - My hand touch the adapter and some cracks in the socket heard - The charger still working and charging other stuffs. - In the morning my device turned off randomly. - When I wakeup the device shows you >Device unable to bootup normally with suggesting three options >1. Try again - tried so many times still fails >2. Wipe app data (which is I think safe but needs a backup before doing that, thats what I'm looking for right now) >3. Poweroff - even after powered off its on again (automatically without my actions) and kept doing the bootloop Well why I mentioned the charging case is because that's the only thing i know before this happening (I'm in sleeping too not remember what happens after that),and I doubt if its any in case trouble in the mobile board so that's why I mentioned. Likely I don' think it was that but a doubt. And **I am able to enter recovery mode and bootloader mode (entering via recovery and show download mode (idk is that download or bootloader mode or these 2 things are same, I tried a backup using download mode in realme devices but not with Samsung)** And when I tried to enter recovery it shows a android image and with error text labeled under the image. It shows for a split second and boots into recovery mode. Also happens with powerup mid bootloop (when I saw this I thought some firmware bug. Because of this, that I thought the charging case is not the issue, not sure till now. Is there any way i can fix this? have any method to backup?
