I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 stuck on Android 5.0.2. I wanted to upgrade the software to LineageOS. There is a lot of information out there, but nothing that can help me. A few things first that I need to share. I'm using a Mac. I once unlocked my device and Knox is now void, so it must be unlocked. I can't tell if the bootloader is unlocked. I tried to check using an app, but came back with an error of "Sorry! root access is not properly installed on this device". The tablet is in developer mode, there is no OEM mode or anything like that, and USB debugging is turned on. I have tried several things using Terminal but they didn't work with homebrew and ADB services. These are installed on my Mac. I got as far as trying to add fastboot devices, and it was denied on the terminal, but that probably makes sense if the bootloader is locked. Most instructions imply that you know what to do and don't explain much. Can anyone please assist with step-by-step instructions so I can complete the process of installing LineageOS?

Multiple times per day, ADB suddenly stops responding. After this occurs, every adb shell command fails to finish or produce any output. IntelliJ and Android Studio no longer recognize my phone(s). The solution is straightforward: run the command
killall adb
However, I find myself needing to do this repeatedly, approximately every 15-30 minutes, which significantly hampers my development workflow. Each time I perform this action, I have to restart my Flutter application. Do you have any suggestions for resolving this issue? I am using a New M2 MacBook Pro with Ventura 13.6, and ADB was installed via the Jetbrains SDK Manager (SDK Platform-Tools): enter image description here

Has anyone seen this before? I've tried switching the USB cable but it didn't help. Haven't got a bugreport yet cause it's finicky and the device might crash before the bugreport is gathered, but I can try if that's absolutely necessary.

There are a lot of very old answers to this question, and they are not helping me. * I am running MacOS Venture 13.2.1 * I have a Pixel 4a running Android 13 patched to March 2023 * I have Android File Transfer 1.0.12 which is the latest stable version available * I have never had a Samsung phone so haven't installed Kies. * When connecting the USB cable I get a notification and can select File transfer/Android Auto * The same USB cable is working fine with Windows. The USB port on my Mac is working fine with a hard drive. I am able to connect to the phone using ADB but don't want to use ADB to transfer files all the time when there is a simple GUI that allows this. I am having the same issue on my Windows computer, so I am wondering if there is some setting on my phone I have missed. Update - I am able to access files on my phone via Windows fine after all. I see MTP showing up in Devices, and can see my Phone by it's name in File Explorer. Update 2: I apologise for not giving more detail about what does happen. When I connect my Pixel 4a to my Mac Android File Transfer does not open automatically. When I run it manually, I get a message saying 'No Android device found. The phone detects the connection (hence the USB mode notification, but it seems the Mac does not.

I'm new to android development so apologies if this is a stupid question. I'm having trouble seeing my android devices in Eclipse. I've switched on USB debugging, configured them to connect as a camera not mass storage, but when I run ./adb devices, there's no device showing, even though I have a Samsung Galaxy and a LG Nexus connected via USB. On both phones I get a notification saying "USB debugging connected" and "connected as a camera" so the phone obviously thinks it's connected. The problem appears to be intermittent. Sometimes the Galaxy shows up: Macbook:~/workspace/android-sdks/platform-tools ./adb devices List of devices attached 3334AB246B5300EC device Then I unplug and reconnect it, and it disappears. I've tried 3 cables and 2 devices now. Should I just give up and use an emulator instead?

I tried to su before executing the command. I tried to mount to another folder (/mnt/sdcard/xyz, /storage/self/primary/DCIM), but it doesn't help. The command given above works well if executed directly on my Mac. I've tried to ping 192.168.1.5 from Nox player and it works well. I've tried to open the same storage within Nox Player built-in Amaze file browser as SMB share and it also works. I've read https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/200867/how-to-mount-nfs-on-android-with-correct-permissions/201191#201191 , but it is not quite clear for me what else could be tried. What should I try?

I used to use Samsung Smart Switch for this purpose, but the feature has been discontinued. Currently, I am using scrcpy to mirror the Android screen on my Mac and control it, or I connect to the Android device using 1keyboard as an external keyboard. However, neither of these methods is ideal because I cannot project the cursor directly onto the Android phone itself, which means I have to operate it by looking at my Mac screen. Additionally, the previous method was faster as it didn't require mirroring the entire screen.

I just got a new MacBook 2016 with Mac OS Sierra installed, after setting up my complete development environment and all required tools via Android Studio, I tried to flash a new Android Wear release on my watch. ADB is working without issues, but as soon as I try to run any fastboot command (other than fastboot help) it will completely freeze and never finish. It is just stuck with no output at all. I already tried to run it with sudo or reinstall it via the SDK Manager, I also tried different standalone fastboot binaries provided on XDA developers. There is nothing which seems to make it finish. Even "ctrl + c" won't exit the running command. Only killing it via the process list will work.

Now the error popup still stays while the main window shows the content of my phone. But I am unable to click on the main window because the error popup is still open. When I click OK on the error popup, both the error popup and the main window closes together and the error popup opens again with the 'Allow' confirmation on my phone. If I click 'Allow', it all repeats over. enter image description here See the GIF for what I'm talking about. Model - Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Android version - 12 One UI version - 4.1 Mac OS version - 12.6 Android File Transfer - I think it's latest but can't find the version as the popup blocks me from checking the About menu. Is this a bug with the Android File Transfer? Is there an another free app that I can use to transfer files?

I found vendor and product IDs via Mac OS X system information. ADB working seems to indicate that communication between my laptop and the phone does work fine. How can I get fastboot to work? **Background info:** I'm trying to install CyanogenMod on a HTC Desire Z. Part of the procedure I'm following is described here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/HTC_Desire_Z:_Firmware_Downgrade_(Gingerbread) I get stuck at the fastboot oem rebootRUU step: $ fastboot oem rebootRUU (hangs, I gave up after 20 minutes), and I think that is due to fastboot not working. Any other ideas on how to get past this appreciated?
