Open YouTube links from Facebook Messenger app in the Youtube app

I am unable to play YouTube videos from the links I get on my Facebook Messenger app. Here's what happens: 1. A friend of mine posts a video link to me (YouTube link) as a message on Facebook. 2. I receive it on my Android mobile in the Facebook Messenger app. 3. I click on it and it shows a dialog box (you can call that a pop-up) which asks me to choose an app to open the video with. Now earlier, there used to be video player apps on my mobile along with the internet browsers installed on my mobile that used to come up there. So I would select an internet browser, and it, in turn, would re-direct me to the YouTube app itself. However, now, I am only getting video players in that dialog box as an option to open the YouTube video, but of course, if I select them, they are not able to stream the video. Has anyone found a way around this problem? It is really bothersome.

Background 1) Using a file explorer I can select an HTML file and it will start the default browser and then do its thing. 2) The HTML file is on an inserted SDCARD 3) In the browser, the HTML file takes some options and displays text relevant to those options The reverse does not work (The Problem): 1) In a browser I enter the path for the HTML file shown by the file explorer 2) An example: the file explorer shows the path as **/storage/####-####/folder/filename.html** 3) In the browser I enter **file://** then the path above (####-#### is 8 numbers in two sets of 4) 4) This generates the response: "Access to the file was denied: it is not readable. may have been removed, moved or file permissions may be preventing access." There is no user code I wish to enter the file URL within the browser so it can be bookmarked for easy future access

How do I open a tg:// URL on Android?
I have a `tg://` URL like `tg://login?token=BTGjK95sf6QLckQBAZPtH_gSLOcpQoasQLCea18O9A` that I want to open in the Android Telegram app. If I paste it into Chrome address bar then it searches for the URL, rather than redirecting to the app like on a PC. How do I open this URL?

Is there something in about:config or somewhere else for that?

**I am looking for a way to find out the address of a website that is being opened in the integrated (proprietary) browser of the TikTok application.** I am trying to stop some fraudulent visits to our website through Google ads. We have reported these videos for a month on TikTok, but they are still active. We have contacted Google Ads customer support, and they say it's not their responsibility. Google hides the HTTP_REFERRER in the clicks that come through Google Ads, and our server only receives a client ID "gclid" and Google as the referrer. **The modus operandi is as follows:** The attacker runs an ad campaign on TikTok with videos offering fake jobs with very high salaries, no experience required, and excellent conditions (impossible ones, to be clear). Just to attract visits. At the end of the video, the ad says "swipe left" ... there, a page opens containing only links to Google Ads' paid ads. Because this page opens in TikTok's browser, no information about the website (the page) being displayed can be found. **This is causing a triple harm:** 1. Fraudulent clicks that we paid for. 2. Annoyance from calls (60-100/every day) regarding the fake job offers. 3. It seems the attacker is paid by Google Adsense when someone clicks from their page. **Any solution ideas will be welcomed. Thank you.**

Downloaded Sophos Intercept X today cause my Chrome browser kept opening to `https://web.bwanet.ca` all of a sudden + all my open tabs were gone. Is it due to Sophos? If so, is there a specific feature in the Sophos app that can stop future hijacks?

The "problem" I have is that when I read the NFC tag, a panel pops up and I have to manually click it in order to "load" the URI, it's not done automatically by just approaching the NFC tag with the phone. Is it possible to somehow automatically load the URI by approaching the phone to the NFC tag? Or is this a security measure of some kind to prevent loading malicious URIs?

I want to whitelist some URLs been used by my device and native apps for sync and updates. Other than these few URLs, I wish to block all other URLs being accessed by any chat window and browser. I have my device rooted, and have been looking for a common solution which can be accessed by all native applications and browsers. I have found a solution to override the API "shouldOverrideUrlLoading" in the class WebView Client, but if there are any applications which do not call this WebViewclient and directly calls native APIs (system/netd). I am quite new to the WebView thing, do let me know if anyone has any solutions or suggestions.

Scenario: I'm talking in-person with someone and during the course of conversation I think of a website whose URL I know from memory, and I want them to type the URL into their smartphone and access the website directly without performing a web search (just like you could do on a traditional computer web browser in the address bar). To be clear: I don't want it to do "search as you type", I don't want it to create suggestions based on partial matches, and I don't want it to do any kind of search that delivers search results. I don't want the entered string to be sent to a search engine to do any processing of any kind. I just want it to open a connection to the indicated website (i.e., go directly to DNS lookup followed by HTTP or HTTPS connection to the entered URL). Also, in this scenario, I have no way to generate a QR code for them (I don't own a smartphone, and might not be carrying my computer with me). Do smartphones have that facility (i.e., a field to enter a URL without passing it to a search engine, exactly like the old browsers used to do with the address bar)? If so, how do I instruct the Android user (and/or iOS user) to find the field where they can type in the URL and not have it be processed by a search engine?

On my old Android 9 phone, I was able to tap/select a URL, and there was an option to open the URL in Chrome. I used this feature heavily when opening links from my email client. Chrome is set as my default browser. In the app permissions for Opening Links, Chrome's option to open supported links is greyed out. The option to open supported links is also greyed out for all other web browsers. Image Interestingly, if I select the first part of a link, like https://www.example.com , there is an option to open the URL in Chrome. But if I select the full link, like https://www.example.com/abc , then the option to open in Chrome disappears. Screenshot for selecting partial link: Image Screenshot for selecting full link: Image My phone is rooted.

When you send an SMS/Text, the Messaging app converts to clickable link certain patterns of text, when it matches a URL. SMS link conversion Of course I can use the Android emulator to emulate SMS messages and check what top-level domains (TLD) are converted to link. But I was curious and wanted to know the complete list. I have searched the source code of the stock Android app and even other projects (QKSMS ) but found nothing. P.S. When you prefix the URL with 'http://' all TLD are converted to link. Update: My first test (see screenshot) corresponds to Android 7. I've checked that Android 9 recognizes new TLDs.
