**Galaxy-S (Vibrant), Android 2.1**
If I create an event with the stock Calendar app, I can freely change which Google Calendar the event is associated with. Once it sync's with Google Calendar, however, I can no longer change which Calendar the event is associated with. I can do change any other aspect of the event, and even delete the event, but I can't move it to a different calendar. I can change the calendar from the Google Calendar web page, though.

When I open the calendar app that comes with the phone, tap "More" in the upper right corner and then "Manage Calendars", there's an option to turn "Contact's birthdays" on and off. To me, that would indicate that it has the capability to display your contact's birthdays on the calendar app. However, I've got it set to "On" and only a few of my contact's birthdays are showing up.
Can anyone tell me how to get all my contact's birthdays to show up?

I don't get to choose which. In my Samsung tablet, it syncs with "My tablet -> Events"; see the calendar checked in blue in the following image.
This seems different from both my Samsung Calendar and my Google Calendar, and I'm honestly confused as to what it is. More importantly, I'm incapable of syncing it with Google Calendar.
Does someone know how I can do that?

This has been an issue for as long as I can remember. There must be a way to solve this issue, as not having my calendar on my phone makes the Calendar feature all but useless.

For example, I'd like to know which day the room type in a hotel is available for the next 14 days without having to do 14 individual searches. On Airbnb I can easily see which days a listing is available (they don't have room types though but I just mention that to examplify the feature I'm looking for):

Are ***task*** notifications a subset of of ***calendar*** notifications?
Are ***task*** notifications mutually exclusive from ***calendar*** notifications?
Suppose that there is a Google Calendar ***event*** at 1:00PM on Monday.
Will the ***event*** notification play the ***task*** sound or will the ***event*** notification play the ***calendar*** notification sound?

I would like to send Calendar events through mails to a group of people. I can currently share links from my Calendar but that just opens up a browser windows saying 'Untitled Event'.
For example,
If my event is Quiz No. 2 on 12th Nov at 4. Then the link should re-direct to(preferably in the Calendar app rather than a browser window) a event title 'Quiz No. 2' and the time must be set to 4. The person receiving the mail just has to click add event.
Can this be done?
**EDIT:**
I am able to send the link but it opens up in the browser. Is there any way make it open up in the Calendar app?

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I've lost all the data on my calendar. I manually typed everything in the calendar that came on the phone. I don't use the Google Calendar app, but I've noticed the calendar pulls in events from my Gmail.
Last night, I was trying to figure out why the battery of my phone was suddenly not lasting all day even though my usage patterns haven't changed. After reading a few articles about T-Mobile adding apps during updates, I disabled and deleted a few. For example, I disabled configAPK and deleted a few Meta ones. I googled what each were beforehand. None said anything about the calendar. I'm guessing I've messed up.
Is there any way to get my calendar back, restore the calendar to yesterday, or restore my phone to yesterday? I'm ok to lose what I've done on my phone in the last 24 hours.
I checked my backups. Looks like the last backup was Jan 28. So backing up to a previous date won't work. The invites my husband accepted are still on his phone. If the invite is still on his phone, doesn't that mean the calendar is there somewhere?

I bought an Android 11 phone at the end of last year (the phone itself is a no name: "Kruger&Matz"). I started using pre-installed Calendar app -- strictly offline, with no syncing to any account, linking to any cloud etc. It worked perfectly for eight months.
Couple of weeks ago (I may or may not have been a little drunk) I let my Google account to sync with all apps, including calendar.
Since then, when I open the calendar, it's completely empty, all my previous entries are gone. (I checked my account's calendar's "Trash" folder on desktop, nothing there either.)
The calendar stays empty after refreshing it, denying account's access, even when I completely remove all accounts from the phone.
Is there a possibility to retrieve the older version of the calendar with all previous entries, or is it lost forever?
(I haven't tried to disable or force-stop the calendar app.)
Thanks in advance for all the answers and/or ideas.
P.S. I really hope you understand my problem, since I'm quite illiterate when it comes to technologies, so I might have said something illogical or plain stupid. Thanks again!

I'm trying to get a profile that triggers whenever my samsung calendar app detects a new event has been added to a shared calendar. The shared cal is an icloud calendar that is being synced by the 'Sync for icloud' app. I expect this app just periodically updates the CalDev calendar feed to my samsung calendar app, so the task would need to detect when this happens, compare the old calendar to the new one and then notify me of the changes. I could write this in C but I have no experience writing in tasker.
Ideally it would ping a notification of the event title and description.
I'm very new to tasker so am completely in the dark about how to set this up. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Usually, CalDAV calendars don’t appear in the Android Outlook app, so I search for a way to integrate CalDAV into Outlook. I know there is a software called [Outlook CalDav Synchronizer](https://caldavsynchronizer.org/) but it's only for desktop (Windows).
There is another app called [DAVx5](https://www.davx5.com/) to synchronize CalDAV, but it's a paid app and I don't want to waste it.
Does someone have the experience?

So basically I'd like to get reminders for important events in a smart way. So looking for these features.
1. Should have an alarm option (both silent and loud).
2. Ideally, this alarm should be escalating (starts out with vibrate but then becomes loud if not dismissed)
3. Have a smart option where it uses your current location along with the location of the event to time the alarm (so you can get to the event on time if you leave soon)
For the first feature, there are a few hacks (make a long sound file as your notification) but I currently use this app for this purpose.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sk.mildev84.reminder
Does anyone have any suggestions for better apps/setups that would give me the functionality I want?
I was actually thinking of even making the app myself (would be first app)

Reason for my question is, that my Galaxy Android smartphone lost all calendar data without any interaction. I found tons of apps, tons of sync stuff, but NO simple list of files to save. I do NOT want to save my data remotely on Google.
There must be at least one local file (database?) on my phone containing the synced calendar file (on my server, using ICSSync)

I am trying to migrate from a broken calendar account (no remote sync access, but the phone has all the data cached locally) to a self-hosted CalDAV calendar (connected to by DAVx ). Both calendar accounts are in DAVx, and both are visible in calendar apps.
Question: How do you export an existing calendar to another calendar on the device? I have both the "Google Calendar" app and the default Calendar app that comes with LineageOS, but neither appear to support export/import---or at least I cannot find the option. There are _lots_ of calendar events, so we need to do it in bulk.
With contacts, it is simple: you can export a .vcs to a file and import the .vcs to another contact account with the "Contacts" app. But with I can't figure out how to do the same thing with a calendar account.
Ideas?

Similar to [this post](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/88120/persistent-notification-for-calendar-events) , but in my case it's for the *Samsung Calendar* app.
I have *recurring* events that used to generate **persistent** top-of-the-screen notifications.
E.g. 'every Thursday, from 11 to 12 - do X and Y, reminder on time (i.e. at 11)'.
--> every Thursday a notification would appear at 11, *and stay there **permanently**, only disappearing when I manually dismissed it*.
No longer the case: now the notification appears **but then disappears as soon as the event 'end time' is reached** (in this example, at 12).
That means that if I don't look at my phone exactly between 11 and 12, I will miss the notification and probably not do X and Y.
[Not a theory, BTW, e.g. I forgot to put in a tax payment; luckily I was reminded by someone.]
I looked this up on the web, of course, and I found a few similar cases, but no actual solutions, only complicated and cumbersome workarounds (hence my asking here).
To be clear, my goal here is to understand if there are any **settings** I can change to make the notifications behave like they used to.
Stopping using Samsung Calendar would not be an option.
**Any ideas? Suggestions?**
---
PS, for clarity:
- I know I can make events last longer so the notification does not disappear after 1 h, but how long should they be? Days? Weeks? The whole point of having *persistent* notifications is to have them shown to you as reminders of an action that is due; and then you take that action in your own time. Any fixed persistence time can cause you to not take the action and then forget.
- I know I can make *tasks* in Samsung Calendar (which are indeed like reminders of things to do, with no specified duration) instead of *events* (which require a fixed start and end time), but 1) I used events before because they worked, so now I have a long list of them, synced everywhere; 2) Samsung tasks cannot be set as *recurring*, and that's the whole point of most of my reminders (things that I need to do at specific intervals in time).
- I know there are other apps that handle calendars, like Google Calendar, but 1) in my search for solutions I actually found several posts complaining about the exact same issue with that one; 2) as explained, I have a lot of Samsung Calendar events already made, which I wouldn't really fancy rewriting into another app; 3) I have already set up my Samsung account to back up my calendars and other stuff, which I would no longer benefit from if I did that.
