My primary email mailbox is hosted by Microsoft through a Microsoft 365 business subscription, and I use the Outlook Client on my Samsung S23+ Android phone (Android 14 / OneUI 6.0).
I'm struggling to get calendar and contacts sync working reliably (between the Android Calendar and Contacts apps and my Exchange account) so I've been poking around in the 'accounts' and 'sync' settings (which are handled centrally by 'settings' but also by the calendar and the contacts apps, and by the Outlook Client on the phone).
In troubleshooting 'accounts', I noticed that Android is now offering an account named 'Outlook' alongside 'EAS' (Microsoft Exchange Active Sync) as a mail server type. Further, the only way I could get 'sync' to work reliably was to enter my Exchange account as the 'Outlook' type. Here's a screenshot showing the setup:
The left image shows the 'accounts' I have defined in settings / accounts and backup. The circled EAS account is my email account in question. The second circled account is the 'outlook' account, with the exact same identity. The middle image shows what you see as possible accounts when you choose to 'add an account' - note that 'outlook' is offered as an 'account type' alongside MS exchange active sync. And if you choose that 'outlook' account type, it prompts you for the email address (right image).
The key point being, my one mailbox has been entered as both an 'outlook' and an 'MS Exchange Server' type. The 'EAS' account was added first, but I could not get sync to work, so (for reasons unclear now, probably a suggestion by someone somewhere ...) I added the 'outlook' type, and now sync is working!
So my question is, why are there two ways to define the same account, and why would the second type be labeled 'outlook', when it's got nothing to do with outlook really - it's just an exchange server account hosted on Microsoft.
In the 'calendar' app on Android, I couldn't get sync to work when trying to sync with the EAS account, but when I told it to connect to 'outlook', it started working!

Is it possible to integrate the CalDAV calendar into the Android Outlook app?
Usually, CalDAV calendars don’t appear in the Android Outlook app, so I search for a way to integrate CalDAV into Outlook. I know there is a software called [Outlook CalDav Synchronizer](https://caldavsynchronizer.org/) but it's only for desktop (Windows).
There is another app called [DAVx5](https://www.davx5.com/) to synchronize CalDAV, but it's a paid app and I don't want to waste it.
Does someone have the experience?

I have a Moto g8 with Android 10. I use default gmail app to read my phone's gmail account as well as my two work emails (both MS Exchange/Outlook). I do not use the Outlook app for the latter.
I have all accounts on manual sync, by choice: they sync **only** when I open the app and push emails (swipe down). This works fine with the gmail account. However, since some time ago (maybe 6 months or more), the two MS accounts do not sync. I need to go to
Settings -> MS_account_name -> Incoming settings -> Next
, and then I get the emails. This lasts for a few hours. Then I need to repeat. It seems like MS authentication for Gmail app is temporary. I have all phone apps updated.
I've scrolled through lots of posts and webs but most advice is trivial (example ) and not relevant. Can't find a reply to this specific problem. Any ideas?
Update: Has this anything to do with the removal of basic auth ? I tried deleting and reinstalling app, as suggested here , but no effect so far.

Zero matches every time, when Outlook on the desktop and Windows Mail have no trouble with the same mailbox.
However new the emails, it can't find them if they are in any folder other than the inbox.
It searches all Gmail folders fine, however.

Software:
- Microsoft Outlook App on Android
- Microsoft Outlook for Windows, version 2007
I currently have a work account which I have synced with my Android, and for some reason, all of the calendars I've ever accepted on my work's account (and deleted on my desktop) are still showing up on my Outlook App on my Android.
Aside from being annoying (given that all their respective reminders are still popping up), I have on many occasions accidentally added a new reminder onto an old calendar which, if isn't a "shown" calendar, ends up hidden and I never know about it.

I have an annoying problem with Microsoft Outlook on Android. All my incoming mail is moved to folders by means of rules immediately upon arrival. I have about 50 different folders. Normally, next to each folder should be the number of unread messages. This is almost never true. Sometimes it doesn't update the number until I click on a folder. So for example, there is no number behind a folder name, but when I click on the folder, it appears there are 5 unread messages and then the number 5 is displayed behind the name. And sometimes all the numbers behind the folder name disappeared out of nowhere.
I've done absolutely everything and searched the entire Internet for a solution. I don't come across many threads that have the same problem, but they do exist. Perhaps the problem is with me.
Is there a solution?

I have my Google Mail account set up in Outlook on both Android and Windows.
On Android there is an Archive folder, on Windows there is not; the Android one appears to be local (though it is not in any way labelled as such).
I have created an ArchivedItems folder in my Google Mail account, and I select all items in the Google Mail Archive from time to time, move them into ArchivedItems, and they then pop up on Outlook for Windows where I can move them to my main Archive folder which lives in another email account.
All well and good, except that the items have a tendency to reappear at some later point in the Google Mail Archive folder on Outlook for Android - not every time, this seems completely unpredictable.
I can see no reference to this problem anywhere on the web.

I'm aware of DAVx5 and it seems to work fine on my phone. I can use this to see CalDAV calendars in Outlook but I haven't found a way to integrate the contacts from CardDAV. I see the contact in the normal contacts app but not in outlook.
Am I missing something or is this not possible?
Which would be a pity as Outlook seems to be the only tool which integrates email, contacts and calendar.

My calendar is a conglomerate of different event sources (personal, work, etc). I bring them together using the [CalDav](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CalDAV) standard - on Android using the [DAVdroid](https://www.davdroid.com/) application.
There is however an event source that does not support CalDav natively: Outlook. On PCs, this is easily manageable with a programme like [DavMail](http://davmail.sourceforge.net/) , that serves as a gateway to Outlook, providing a CalDav interface.
I would like to do something similar on Android in order to integrate CalDav event sources with Outlook in the Calendar application. Which method(s) could achieve this goal?

I've been using the Outlook app on my Android for years. This just started happening a few weeks ago. I often will get emails and see the notifications but when I open the app, they're not there. Sometimes it takes hours until the new emails are visible in the app. So as soon as I dismiss the notification either by swiping it away or by opening the app, I have no hint as to what my new emails are about. At the same time, I know those emails are in my inbox both because I read the notification as well as being able to read them in a browser or Windows app. I've already tried using the app's "reset account" which does nothing to help this. Please advise. Thank you!

If it matters, my email accounts are all Exchange ones.
On the stock email app (Samsung) it is possible to choose the sync frequency and even set manual syncing, but I can't find any similar option in Outlook for Android.

I am using Outlook 4.2222.2. A few updates ago, it started adding a Read More button about midway through long emails.
I now have to hit Read More to continue, which takes me to a spot in the app where I have to hit the X to get back to the reading pane (and therefore can't move the email to another folder, etc. without exiting).
I searched through the app's settings and did not find one that allowed me to disable it, and a Google search left me with the impression that not many had encountered this feature at all.
How do I turn it off?

Is there just no USB-capable alternative to MS Outlook?
