I was using VOLTE services (from reliance jio in India) seamlessly since November 2016, but since June 2017 it suddenlt stopped working. I get an error "Unable to place call. Please try another method" while trying to make a call. I am able to access the internet and make/recieve calls from the Jio 4G Voice app.
**UPDATES:**
* I have enabled "enhanced 4G LTE mode"
* Did a factory reset
* My jio connection is on and working. Also, I can place/receive calls from the
Jio4GVioce
app which means the service is working fine.

My son has a Motorola Moto G73 5G (XT2237-2), always used it normally without trying to root it. So the bootloader has not been unlocked.
It is stuck in a boot loop. I can boot into
fastboot
mode (by pressing power and volume down) and then into recovery, but I am not allowed to change anything.
While the phone was still working properly we should of course have enabled Developer Options
, Allow USB Debugging
and Allow OEM Unlocking
, but it is too late for those.
Is there another way to get to the data before doing a reset?
- If side-loading the firmware in recovery mode is possible, I guess that would wipe the data, but mounting in recovery mode (to save any content) does not seem to work.
- I tried accessing the phone with fastboot
and adb
(from the linux prompt) and the phone recorded receiving the commands fastboot oem unlock
and fastboot flashing unlock
, but then that was not allowed because we had not allowed unlocking from the Developer Options menu.

Why is the camera/photo quality of 2021 Moto G Stylus 5G worse than my 2016 Samsung Galaxy S7?

I just upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S7 (2016) to Moto G Stylus 5G (2021). Moto G Stylus 5G 2021 has 4 cameras advertising a 48MP camera - but to my jaw-dropping surprise, the quality of pictures coming out of this 2021 camera is nearly equivalent, on the worse side than my S7.
When I zoom into the pictures (I have made sure conditions are normalized and equivalent for taking the photos for each camera), the S7 images for the same 12MP resolution look sharper and clearer hands down.
What good are the additional 3 cameras on Moto G? Where is the rest of the power of this 48MP camera (vs S7's lone 12MP sensor)? What could be the reason for this surprising lack of improvement (more like digression) from the 2016 technology with far fewer sensors? I am completely baffled. Am I missing something fundamental about perhaps limitations posed by the Android OS on the camera systems (I have tried every conceivable camera setting, so that's not an issue)? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Moto G phone. I'm using LineageOS. Yesterday I notice my phone went dead. When I press power button, a white light in the camera flashes three times, which I understand to be no battery. It did have enough battery though.
When I connect the phone to charge (using PC), the 0% battery charging screen shows up. But it's stuck there at 0%. I can get to the boot menu (power button and volume down), which shows me "battery low", but when trying to boot recovery or any option, the phone restarts but is again stuck at low battery.
My guess is that the battery is gone. Since it cannot be charged, the OS doesn't have the power to load anything. However, it should load when the phone is connected and "charging". Perhaps the problem is not the battery itself but the phone recognising that the battery **does have enough charge**. Is this possible? Anyway, any idea is more than welcome.

How do I get past a code screen lock/Google lock after factory reset with USB and tablet
I can't get into my Motorola Moto G after a factory reset. It is number code screen-locked and Google-locked. I've tried using the emergency call from the start screen already. I'm looking for help using a USB and tablet to get into my phone. I am open to any way to do it too.

So I turn them on, and a little red bubble that says Hello pops up, and then a Verizon logo pops up. Then it goes to the screen with the Start button. I click that, then it wants me to insert a SIM card. There is no skip button, and when I try all the secret number codes in the Emergency Call section, they all are blocked saying that it is not an emergency number. There are some stickers on the back of the phones. Please ask me if you need them. So can someone please help me with this? Thanks! P.S. It runs Android 12.

I have a Moto G4 plus which is still on Android 7 Nougat whereas I expected it to get updated one more time, to 8 Oreo. This has become a problem because some apps have now stopped working on Android 7.
I guess the main question is whether the phone is eligible for Android 8 in the first place, but I found this thread which seems to confirm that it is: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-G4-Moto-G4-Plus-Moto-G4-Play/Android-8-update-not-received-for-Moto-G4-Plus/m-p/5031326
I note that the above forum post has a link to “LMSA” which now redirects to “Rescue and Smart Assistant Tool”. Is it possible to estimate how likely it is to work? It could take a lot of effort itself, as I don't currently have access to a windows computer (I do have windows on a dual boot laptop but the windows has recently stopped working, long story).
I have a vague recollection that major release updates are prompted by carriers/operators, is this where my problem is? I bought the phone from Amazon UK, the listing headline was “Motorola Moto G4 Plus 16GB SIM-Free Smartphone (Dual SIM) - White (Exclusive to Amazon)”. Could it be that the version exclusive to Amazon doesn't get Android 8? I use it with two Sims, one on o2 (UK), one on Orange Poland.
I had a look at the the settings to see what info might be relevant. The software channel is retgb and the version in hardware info is PVTB. Please let me know if any other info is needed and I'll edit it in.

Tried with both Motorola Camera and Google Camera apps. Both take photos correctly when the volume button is pressed on the phone. Neither take a photo when the button on the selfie stick is pressed. I would consider the product defective, but Google Camera actually focuses when the button is pressed.
Is there any setting I'm missing, or a way to find what the selfie stick button is actually doing so I can re-map the action?

Earlier today, I restarted my phone. When I restarted it, this happened.
I need to save my websites there, as I can't remember them. But every time I try, they disappear.
How can I get them back? If it's relevant, it's a phone from Cricket Wireless.

I have a Moto g8 with Android 10. I use default gmail app to read my phone's gmail account as well as my two work emails (both MS Exchange/Outlook). I do not use the Outlook app for the latter.
I have all accounts on manual sync, by choice: they sync **only** when I open the app and push emails (swipe down). This works fine with the gmail account. However, since some time ago (maybe 6 months or more), the two MS accounts do not sync. I need to go to
Settings -> MS_account_name -> Incoming settings -> Next
, and then I get the emails. This lasts for a few hours. Then I need to repeat. It seems like MS authentication for Gmail app is temporary. I have all phone apps updated.
I've scrolled through lots of posts and webs but most advice is trivial (example ) and not relevant. Can't find a reply to this specific problem. Any ideas?
Update: Has this anything to do with the removal of basic auth ? I tried deleting and reinstalling app, as suggested here , but no effect so far.

I assume that Moto G5 is a successor (next generation) of Moto G4. Correct me, if I'm wrong. If so, then why am I still on Android 7.0 or how to trigger immediate update to 7.1 or 8.0?
I assumed that having newer phone = _newer or at least the same_ system version. I'd never expect newer phone having older system version than its one year older predecessor. What am I missing?

Shortly after purchasing Moto E3 (for private use) I decided to purchase another child from this family -- Moto G Play (for company use). I have replicated configuration setting of Moto E3 under Moto G Play. I was more than sure that I will be able to use both phones in exactly the same way.
To my surprise, Moto G Play comes with a feature that causes phone to automatically turn on screen to about half of its regular brightness, showing reminders and unlock icon every time phone's accelerometer detects any sudden move of the phone (like picking it out of pocket, moving quickly on the shelf or desk etc.), even though Power button is not pressed at all.
I'm very found of the idea that you must actually press Power button to turn screen on and find this feature of Moto G Play quite very annoying. I wanted to disable it, but I can't find proper options in configuration. Since I replicated configuration of Moto E3 which doesn't have this feature I might miss something. Is there any way to disable this feature or do I have to get used to it?

My relative doesn't remember it anymore, and they've since deleted the Google account that used to be associated as well.
Is there a way I can use the phone again? I'm okay with custom ROMs and such, and I actually don't even need to activate the cell service, WiFi only would be fine.

I am running a [Moto G Stylus 2021](https://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_g_stylus_(2021)-10583.php) .
Currently, I am not able to make any phone calls, not even access my voicemail. I am though, able to receive phone calls and make and receive text messages and use USSD codes. I do not know why this is happening as it did not happen before. It is not a carrier issue because I reached out to them and they told me that they have detected no issues with my device but either way sent out a SIM refresh to my device. Even so I was still unable to make phone calls.
Recent changes to my phone was someone going in and messing around with the MMI codes and settings.
Does anyone know what may be the issue?
