I bought 2 Moto G Play 2023 phones off of eBay and I want to use them only with WiFi for development purposes. So I turn them on, and a little red bubble that says Hello pops up, and then a Verizon logo pops up. Then it goes to the screen with the Start button. I click that, then it wants me to insert a SIM card. There is no skip button, and when I try all the secret number codes in the Emergency Call section, they all are blocked saying that it is not an emergency number. There are some stickers on the back of the phones. Please ask me if you need them. So can someone please help me with this? Thanks! P.S. It runs Android 12.

How to turn off "Shake to wake camera" on Nexus 5?

Ages ago, while running Lollipop, I found a setting to allow activation of the camera whilst locked. All you have to do is shake the phone. I'll give that a try, I thought. After all, I can always cancel it if I don't like it. However, the thing is way too sensitive and has been driving me mad taking photos of pocket lint and my feet mostly
I can't find the setting to turn it off, despite a great deal of menu exploring and even checking the 'similar questions' panel currently to my right as I type. Upgrading to Marshmallow hasn't got rid of it.
I've got a sneaky suspicion it's a function of a 3rd-party app since there's nothing obvious in the Android settings screen or in the app settings.
Has anyone else come across this or actually figured how to disable it?

Unable to activate Lenovo tablet as a "secondary" Viber device

I have been using **Viber** for almost ten years on many devices (including Blackberries, Android phones and tablets, Windows and Linux PCs). Lately, my old Samsung tablet started to fail, so I bought a new tablet (**Lenovo TB-8505F** 8" Wifi only). I tried to activate Viber on this tablet as a **secondary device** which is the way I had used Viber for years: mobile phone is always my **primary** device; tablet *and* PCs are my **secondary** devices.
However, it seems that this new tablet is treated like a mobile phone by Viber (although it is a WiFi only device). So, Viber tries to activate this tablet as a **primary** device only.
As a comparison:
1. On the old Samsung tablet, the "activation screen" which is displayed just after I enter my mobile phone number, shows the relevant QR code to be scanned by my **primary** device (phone). [This is the correct behavior].
2. On the new Lenovo tablet, the "activation screen" which is displayed just after I enter my mobile phone number, shows that an SMS or phone call activation will be attempted [wrong behavior] just like the tablet **were a primary device only** (which it **should not**). In case I continue with the SMS/phone activation, my **primary device** (phone) gets disconnected [as expected].
I want to activate my new Lenovo Tablet as a **secondary** device. Is there a workaround to force Viber to "treat" this device as a secondary device?

After setup, on the lock screen and in the notification center is a message from "Setup Wizard" that says "Activation Incomplete" and to call Verizon support to activate the device (which I don't want to do).
Is there a way to remove this message without calling Verizon?

Is there a way to tell which phones can have this easily turned off before I buy it? Or is there a generally easy way to avoid that screen on all Android devices?

I have a Sprint HTC One (m7wls) and recently switched over to Ting. I was using Cyanogenmod and couldn't use Ting's instructions for activating with them, so I used an RUU from HTC to get back to stock. Now I can follow the reset instructions, but they don't seem to be working. When I enter
# # 72786 #
I can see some fields (MDN, MSID, M.IP Customer Profile...). Not sure how important it is, but the MDN and MSID show 'No' rather than any info. So then I tap 'Reset' in the menu, and the phone reboots but then that's it. No more activation activities happen on their own from there. I can continue to Update Profile and Update PRL in settings and that will get me a 4G connection, but still no cellular network (no texting or calling and no bars).
Using code # # 3282 #
gets me into a more advanced menu where I can see more fields (other than MSID and MDN) and alot of them say 'No'. I have that Slot Mode is enabled, but there's a 'No' under Slot Index. Mobile Country Code and Access Overload Class also say 'No'. I'm not sure what they all are, but I thought I'd mention them incase they help point to a bigger problem.
I'm guessing that part of the problem is the missing my MDN and MSID numbers, so I've been focused on getting those configured. I've tried using these menus to set the values (just MDN and MSID at first, but I've also tried once with just the Slot Index) and every time I tap 'Commit Modifications' in the menu to save it I see a toast that says 'Commit Failed'. Using captured logs from logcat and a decompiled version of the EPST I think I've found that it won't save anything because the Telephony interface indicates that the radio is still on when it's about to save.
I'd greatly appreciate any thoughts are explanations of how things work. I'm going to try a rooted stock ROM that will let me get into the EPST app. If I still see the same problems then I'm going to write an app that will let me turn off the radio (hence, the *rooted* stock) before trying to set the MDN and MSID. But I'm still worried about all those 'No's and am wondering if those will have to be set too before network connection will start to work.

My devices are rooted, so I can use terminal access to read internal files if needed.
Some suggestions in the net say to find the first day of data usage in the logs, but I want to find an accurate date (preferably a timestamp) of the device activation.
I can't seem t be able to type dialer codes in a tablet, there's no phone app. Also this question is about android devices in general, not only phones.

I have an original VZW droid, the phone powers up and I can start apps etc; however, I cannot even connect to WiFi (it tries and fails with an error that just says unable to connect, try again). Is this a limitation of the phone being ***not*** activated? I used to use this phone as my every day driver, but I've since upgraded to a new phone, but would still like to use this droid as a wifi web browser around the house.
