To access corporate applications, I requested my company's system administrator to grant me access. They instructed me to install certain security apps (such as "CA Mobile"), install security certificates, and complete a profile installation process on my device. After following these steps, I gained access to all corporate applications, and a "work profile" was created on my device. Now, I no longer require corporate access and wish to completely remove this "work profile" enter image description here and all associated administrator permissions from my device. Currently, some device options remain "Disabled by admin" enter image description here indicating residual administrator control. I already attempted to uninstall the security apps I initially installed, but the work profile remains, and administrative restrictions are still active on my device. I do not wish to perform a factory reset since I have many personal apps and data on the device. My goal is simply to: 1. Completely remove the work profile. 2. Eliminate any remaining administrator permissions. 3. Restore full control over my device settings without any restrictions. If necessary, I’m open to using utilities, ADB commands, or other recommended tools. Could you please guide me on - what could be done here?

My friend registered on an app with my phone to get a loan from the PalmPay application. The management asked him to install an app before the loan will be given to him, they say the application will be for the assurance that the loan will be paid back, and the security plugin application was installed on my phone as an admin application. He has paid back the loan but now I think someone is using the application to have access to all my details. I decided to remove the application, but I can't permanently delete the admin application from my phone before they do something very bad with my phone. They are already on my Facebook account/Instagram account. They are trying to get more from me. I can just restive a message from Amazon and other important platforms that I usually keep my money. They are trying to reset my password to all. Please, I need help to protect my Android phone from them. Please, I really need help before they do something very bad and wicked to me

I installed the free version of CleanBrowsing DNS Filter on my Pixel 6 phone that's running Android 12. I gave it admin access and did the hardening process to prevent settings from being changed or uninstalled by creating a PIN to access the CleanBrowsing admin settings. Now, I can't find the CleanBrowsing app on my phone and have no way of making changes to settings. It doesn't even show up in the app that has admin access. CleanBrowsing customer support has been no help. I can't access my security cameras on my phone because of CleanBrowsing. Image Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can access CleanBrowsing on my Pixel phone so I can remove it as it's causing more trouble than it's worth?

I have an old functional Honor phone with Android 6 which would be perfect for the little ones to use basic apps such as Spotify Kids or Youtube Kids. I created a Google kids account, added it to my family and got myself a Family link app for parents where I can control the kid's account. Then, I have factory-reset the Honor and set it up with the kid's account. But now I am locked out. I cannot seem to find a way get parent's administrator rights. When I go to Settings > Security > Administrators I can only see an active parents administrator but the setting is grayed out. I cannot access it. Also, I cannot find any button or app that contains the entry to "parent access." What can I do? To add more complexity: I cannot install any apps because the Google Play Services are too old and you cannot update the services without updating them first ;) As administrator I would be able to manually upgrade the services so that I can restore Play functionally completely (I have done this before). But now with the kid's account I can no longer install apps from untrusted sources (fortunately), but it seems I can also no longer gain parent access. How to gain administrator privileges on a kid's Android 6 phone? Does anyone remember? Otherwise I might have soft-bricked the device and locked myself out forever.

I've been using my app as a device owner app since Android Lollipop. I have a new device here which I want to be a device owner too. It is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5(2018) SM-T590. I am currently running this version of the ROM: T590XXU2ASC1. I am not using the NFC method. I usually create the /data/system/device_owner.xml file by myself. But since it is not working, I tried this method: 1. Factory reset the tablet in recovery mode 2. Pass through the annoying startup menus 3. Set lock screen to none 4. Enable USB Debugging 5. Install my app adb install MyApplicaton.apk 6. adb shell dpm set-device-owner com.example.myapplication/.MyApplicationReceiver. It always says success when I execute the command. 7. Start my app, I can pin/unpin my app without problem. 8. Reboot, and then the famous message appears every time: Image > Workspace has been locked > Unauthorized software has been installed on your device. Workspace has been locked to prevent any unauthorized access. Contact your admin. Then if I press on the FACTORY DATA RESET button, the workspace app crashes then pops back. I tried the kioskModeDemo app and the androidDeviceOwner sample app and they all do the same problem. Does anybody have any hints of why this is not working anymore on Android 8 Oreo?

In my Arch Linux setup(and most others), the default user is non-root. Any admin work needs access to root account which is given temporarily with a password(generally using programs like sudo and doas). I have recently rooted an Android phone(Redmi 4X "santoni") and installed LineageOS (android 9 version). I have TWRP, Magisk installed. I want to setup an account which is non-admin, ie: no app can ever request superuser access and the Magisk Manager App,TWRP app will not even be visible to the user. How do I go about it? In LineageOS' system settings there is an option called multiple users. However when I have used the "guest account" there, it still seems to have root access, ie:apps can request superuser access and Magisk is accessible too. I looked around online but didn't find anything substantial which catered to my specific question.

When I signed into my e-mail for work (we're on Microsoft Exchange) there were a number of server-specified security policies (See below) *How do I avoid these?*: Device Administrators I just received a Nexus 7 and signed into my work's exchange server. When I did so I told me that the server was requiring some security settings. I don't really like those. Especially the one (not really mentioned in the image) which disables NFC which I wish to use for Google Wallet. ---------- **So my question could be answered by**: - A *non-rooting* method to disable these settings; - A different app which would allow me to still connect to the server but not enforce these security settings; - Anything else which I may be missing.

So as per suggestions, I ran adb shell dumpsys package resolvers | sed -n /android.app.action.DEVICE_ADMIN_ENABLED/,/:/p The output for the above code was: android.app.action.DEVICE_ADMIN_ENABLED: 438a74 com.motorola.demo/.admin.DemoModeAdminReceiver 2acd3de com.google.android.gms/.auth.managed.admin.DeviceAdminReceiver 36b5d24 ch.deletescape.lawnchair.ci/ch.deletescape.lawnchair.gestures.handlers.SleepMethodDeviceAdmin$SleepDeviceAdmin 42aae3e com.google.android.gms/.tapandpay.admin.TpDeviceAdminReceiver 8efd08d com.google.android.gms/.kids.account.receiver.ProfileOwnerReceiver 9b4f242 com.google.android.gms/.mdm.receivers.MdmDeviceAdminReceiver a9980b6 com.oasisfeng.greenify/.DeviceAdmin b5771b7 com.google.android.gm/com.android.email.SecurityPolicy$PolicyAdmin com.motorola.internal.intent.action.INETCONDITION_REPORT: The data for the code is quite unsettling for the fact that none seem to correspond to *screen lock service*. \ For reference, I am using Moto G5 Plus (not rooted, stock build with no customizations) Also note that, I own another **same** device which is rooted and runs Pixel-Experience (Android 10 latest build) and unfortunately it does not have the *Screen Lock Service*. An insight/breakdown for this application is helpful.

How to remove an app that is a persistent device administrator

I received a Samsung GS5 as part of a program from Samsung in exchange for their recording device statistics through an app I installed. The program is over, and I have been notified that the app can be removed, but whenever I try to uninstall it I'm told that the app is a device administrator and therefore can not be removed. I tried to remove the administrator status from the app (it's called Samsung Insights) but the option is greyed out. Does anyone have another method of removing admin status or uninstalling apps that have admin status?
