- I want to explore the possibility of making it more difficult to
circumvent self-restriction apps such as the popular **AppBlock** app
- And things similar to Focus mode found in Digital Wellbeing by Google.
Is it possible to prevent access to Safe Mode?
I do not have a rooted device but I am open to rooting it, if necessary.

Like editing
build.prop
file or making any other change and safe mode blocker.

I was using my phone (Galaxy S3 SGH-T999), not doing anything intensive, just web browsing on Chrome, then all of a sudden my phone restarts into Safe Mode.
I opened the app drawer and noticed most (possibly all, not sure) of my downloaded apps were gone.
My notifications bar was informing me that some apps were being re-downloaded.
Not sure of the reason, I just restarted the phone and it booted back up normally.
However strange things have been happening, like:
- Apps re-downloading or updating.
- Facebook app authorization failing
- All my contacts were gone. I use SmoothSync for Cloud Contacts. Opening the app asked me to enter my password. My contacts came back.
- My iCloud calendar was gone, again because SmoothSync logged out. Logging back in was no problem.
Nothing really bad has happened, but it just seems strange and random to me.
Why would Safe mode be activated out of nowhere?

Remove Safe mode completely from an Android from the root
No app blockers works as I can go into safe mode and delete the app blockers. How do I tune my Samsung Galaxy S24 enough to not have an option to go into safe mode altogether?

Summary:
1. I want to take pictures with the screen locked, as in the former Android. (Useful for using a phone as a security camera or a timelapse cam. Urgent need.)
2. I want to disable safe mode (without using a screen lock, using an app lock instead), since this is a huge security hole allowing a person to take control of the phone. (Also, useful for employee phones and child phones.)
I carry one phone, but use 3 phones for the house as security cameras, and 4 or more out in the field for the business as security cameras and supervision.
I just upgraded the phones, and realized after many hours that the makers of Android destroyed my number one use. Which is to say: Android no longer allows photos to be taken with the screen locked.
Solutions:
1. I failed to find a rear camera way to take photos, which needs to be integrated into Tasker that I use for the best customization.
2. I failed to find a screen lock replacement.
3. I was able to use app locking programs to lock down my phone, but was unable to use it in safe mode, which is stupidly easy for anyone to figure out how to boot into, even for a child. Safe mode cannot be locked with a different security level than the main mode, thus is a huge security nightmare for kids, employees, or security camera phones (now, in need of disabling the PIN pattern). I also cannot remove my main account, since several of the key programs are paid by my main account, also, I want a paperweight for anyone stealing the phones or messing with them.
This is very short-sighted of the Android developers.

I'm a parent, using an accountability app (MMGuardian) to limit access to certain games and apps on a Nexus 5X. The child phone is running Android 8.1.0. MMGuardian can't stop a child from rebooting into safe mode for 7.0+, and the child using this phone has figured that out.
I'm looking for a solution that either holds the child accountable, or prevents access to safe mode altogether. Here are ideas I've thought of:
* Custom lock screen that sends the parent pin to the OS when the child pin is entered. When rebooted in safe mode, lock screen wouldn't start and the child wouldn't know the parent pin.
* Some kind of app that sends an sms to the parent phone when the child phone reboots. If possible, include whether or not the child phone was previously in safe mode. (Nine Mail app turns off all sync functionality if the phone was rebooted in safe mode. How does it know!?)
Unfortunately, since I'm not an android developer I don't know if apps like that exist or are possible to write.
Does anyone have suggestions for apps I can install or settings I can change that would either
A) Prevent starting in safe mode.
OR
B) Notify me, when the child phone has started in safe mode?

I have an HTC Desire with CyanogenMod 7 installed. After ignoring the low storage warning for a couple of months, it finally crashed and since then is stuck in the dreaded boot loop. I am able to enter a shell using
adb shell
, and I freed some space (~30M) in the internal memory but to no avail.
After reading about how people solved this problem, a promising way seems to be to enter “safe mode“, then find out which app might cause the boot process to fail and remove it.
I found instructions for the HTC Desire to enter safe mode (turn it on, then keep menu button pressed), but this only let me enter the CyanogenMod recovery menu. My explanation for this is that this behavior is a difference from the stock firmware which most similar question apply to.
I did read the boot loop tag wiki , I naturally want to keep my personal data and settings, and factory-resetting the phone is not a desired option.

You can read about some people with the same problem HERE and HERE .
Took the device to Samsung Tech Center, they wanted to replace the motherboard. That's 2/3 of the secondhand price of the device. Big NO.
There is also this question that may be related, but to me the why is already settled. Damaged motherboard. Now...
---
After this debrief, Here goes my question:
Is there a way to make the S3 NOT boot into safe mode? Disable booting into safe mode? A ROM that can do that?
I know it sounds stupid, but its better than throwing the device out.

Is there a log I can look at to see what the issue may have been? What else can one do in "safe mode"?

Anyone, please help, I charge the phone overnight at normal, wake up in the morning the phone is in bootloop Forever! (It's Samsung A51 Global version, A515F with the 5/18 firmware stock ROM, NO rooting, No custom ROM)
I even try Reiboot's repair function multiple times and it didn't work.
It did re-apply the latest Firmware to the phone for me but still cannot boot to android.
The phone is able to boot to recovery mode only, I cleaned up the dust of the internal also as it has no warranty at all. I am not attempting to fix the phone, I just wanna pull all the files of the internal memory back before I can factory reset it in Recovery mode.
I have the USB debugging activated. Any questions or details please ask, I can replace it with a new phone, but at least I can pull the data out, or better yet, able to boot it to the android system, I tried the safe mode method NOT working.

I already use the Android default backup but it seems like it only backup Google apps. I unfortunately do not use Helium or Titanium Backup.
My phone is not rooted. Any help?

I have a Note 2 running a custom Android 6 ROM and it's stuck in safe mode. It got stuck in safe mode once before, but I don't recall what I did to fix it. I did have a sticky power button then, so I might have just cleaned it with alcohol pads. At the time, I looked for a way to disable it. Now I am stuck, due to the hubris of some programmers, which seems to be the norm for software nowadays /rant.
Articles online look like keyword stuffed AI generated articles, and simply are press releases for the feature, telling you how wonderful it is, how to enter it, and in Android 10, how you can exit it from a persistent notification. Even the answers here are very similar.
I don't think I have a stuck button this time. I've wiped cache in TWRP. TWRP can't shutdown though, it just reboots into itself, which I think is odd.
The phone was having an issue where the power button was working for a double press, but not a single press or long press, and when I rebooted it to clear the issue, now I have a larger issue.
I have rebooted (many times), pulled the battery and let it sit (up to 8 hours), changed the battery, done a software reboot, cleared the Dalvik cache in TWRP, and searched online for some way to exit safe mode.
I can't just reformat and reinstall because I have apps with settings I would need to back up, like my contacts, and some secure apps that need to be backed up within the app.
1. How can I forcibly exit safe mode?
2. How can I disable safe mode permanently?

I had a problem with my phone restarting at random, and it all started when I asked a third party app, FX File Explorer, to carry out a task (searching for duplicate files). So I duly rebooted the phone in safe mode.
The phone crashed on reboot, but with a cache wipe I was able to start it again and it was verifiably in Safe Mode.
FX File Explorer was absent from the home screen as expected and absent from the app list. I tried to force it to stop through app manager, but the phone just hangs, tried to uninstall it but with the same problem.
Moving back to another task using the recent apps list (Overview screen), I noticed that FX File Explorer had a window in that list. I touched on it and it opened, a fully functioning app. I thought safe mode was supposed to disable third party apps?
Firstly, how does FX File Explorer get to be still running even in safe mode?
Secondly, how do I stop it? Force stop just hangs forever until the phone restarts, uninstall just hangs forever. The phone appears to be working fine until I actually ask it to do anything (open an app, uninstall anything etc) then it just hangs. Being fairly sure it's FX File Explorer that's causing the problem, I need to stop it, but nothing seems to be able to get to it.

I own a Nexus 7 tablet (the first Wi-Fi + 3G model - only front-facing camera, no support for phone calls). Yesterday, I wanted to take a screenshot on my tablet and tried various key combinations; i.e. power key + up/down volume keys; I am not sure about the exact combination, especially because I didn't expect anything bad to happen.
I am not sure that's the exact cause, but there's no other way it'd have gotten into safe mode.
**So, how do I get my tablet out of safe mode?**
I've tried:
1. [As stated](https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2852139?hl=en) in the official docs ([and confirmed](https://productforums.google.com/d/msg/nexus/dQ6bB4rIib8/hGbuaPE0gGgJ) by a Google rep.), simply restarting the tablet (i.e. power off, then power on) should fix it.
> ...restart your device to get it out of safe mode
2. Following [these exact steps](https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2852139?hl=en) , I tried manually booting into safe mode, and then restarting the tablet to get out of it.
3. [This](http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-7-tablet-2012/192601-how-do-you-get-out-safe-mode-nexus-7-a.html#post2843968) :
> It is necessary to hold the volume control switch to "high" and then operate the "on" switch, to get out of safe mode [...] hold the "on" switch for at least fifteen seconds.
4. Reset device to [factory settings](https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/4596836?hl=en) .
5. Reset device [in Recovery mode](https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/4596836?hl=en) .
(Followed steps [under Nexus 7 section](https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/4596836?hl=en)) successfully from 1 to 5. Volume buttons become unfunctional at this point, and I am unable to use them to *scroll to "wipe data/factory reset"*. **Mind you**, the volume buttons worked in the first few steps, so there's nothing wrong with the buttons themselves.
6. [Battery pull](http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-7-tablet-2012/347541-cant-get-out-safe-mode.html#post3347448) , i.e. holding the power button until the tablet restarts.
7. Remove SIM card and restart. Insert SIM and restart.
**But... NONE of them worked.** My tablet is still in safe mode and I'm out of ideas. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
