It happened when my phone's battery was dead, and when I turned it on after charging, everything was gone. I can see my apps in the application manager but it shows that all of the apps are disabled and I can do nothing.
I cant even add a picture here.

The only other resource I've found were several forums and websites that link back to the same blog that claims to have rooted the phone, but the download file is labeled as malicious by chrome and there is no conformation by anyone that it actually works.

Downgrade from Lollipop to KitKat for Moto E
I've done all those steps mentioned in the downgrade process. I've used the some resource files mentioned in that youtube page. But problem arised in the final process of Downgrade.
After formatting process, it gives me error that "Invalid Signed Image" & "Preflash Validation Failed". I Could not find out any solution for this issue. Now my phone has no OS. SO Can anyone suggest me to Boot OS to my Phone?
Any suggestions will be greatly helpful to me..

My stock HP Slate no longer boots. It stops at the HP logo / Powered by Android splash screen. I've tried all of the solutions typically available to this device like resetting with the power turned off button combination. I've tried all the options (start, Recovery Mode and Restart BootLoader) but they all freeze on the same splash screen.
I now have a really nice brick. Any suggestions / recommendations on what I can do to restore or recover this device?

I am currently forced to back up to the internal storage (after clearing space), then copy to the SD card, then delete the copy on my internal storage. This wastes *much* time and effort. My phone storage is only 2.8GB free, but my SD card has 28.0GB free.

The problem is that the overlay has a bigger resolution than what my screen supports, and it doesn't let me touch the screen (Overlay #1 1280x720).
I have turned the phone off and on again and it didn't work, I took off the battery, pinched it, and tapped on it several times... nothing changed, but that overlay is still there and doesn't let me touch the screen.
How can I turn this overlay off?

According to xda wiki "The recovery is completely independent of the Android system". Does it mean that, No matter which version of Android I have, the recovery of any version should work. If recovery is independent of android then why does that recovery not working. I am confused.

Since I have a broken back button I have remapped my buttons in such a way that my original volume up button functions as a menu button, and my original menu button as the back button. I've done this by changing the key values in
/system/usr/keylayout/generic.kl
.
The problem is, I've flashed a new ROM so I had to do it again, but now it doesn't work anymore. The changed values are persistent but my phone ignores it, it seems.
And yes, of course I've rebooted after making the changes again.
Anyone have an idea?

I have a new problem with the
adb restore
command.
I created an adb backup -apk -shared -all
and it looked like it worked and I think it did because the size is 6 GB. Well I made this from Android L Preview because I wanted to downgrade because of the bugs and when I try to restore it on Android KitKat 4.4.4 it is not working, the adb shell logcat -s BackupManagerService
returned this when I tried to make a full restore:
I/BackupManagerService( 758): Beginning full restore...
D/BackupManagerService( 758): Starting restore confirmation UI, token=1224340204
D/BackupManagerService( 758): Waiting for full restore completion...
D/BackupManagerService( 758): acknowledgeFullBackupOrRestore : token=1224340204 allow=true
D/BackupManagerService( 758): Sending conf message with verb 10
I/BackupManagerService( 758): --- Performing full-dataset restore ---
I/BackupManagerService( 758): Initiating bind of OBB service on com.android.server.BackupManagerService$FullBackupObbConnection@437913f8
I/BackupManagerService( 758): OBB service connection com.android.internal.backup.IObbBackupService$Stub$Proxy@43ad7c48 connected on com.android.server.BackupManagerService$FullBackupObbConnection@437913f8
W/BackupManagerService( 758): Wrong header version: 3
W/BackupManagerService( 758): Invalid restore data; aborting.
I/BackupManagerService( 758): Full restore processing complete.
D/BackupManagerService( 758): Full restore pass complete.
Is there a fix for this? Or another way to restore this information? The backup is encrypted but there is not an error of a wrong password and I am pretty sure it's the correct password.

I have a Galaxy S3 with OS 4.4.4 and am required to encrypt it for my job. I greatly prefer to use the PIN lock screen instead of the password due to the annoyance of having to type in the password every time you want to check your phone.
After updating to 4.4.4 and setting up the phone from a factory reset it will ONLY allow me to choose "Password" for the lock screen type when I go to encrypt. However, I have been able to select both "Password" and "PIN" before 4.4.4/factory reset. (now the PIN option is grayed out and says 'Turned off by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage').
What exactly has caused my phone to no longer accept the PIN? Was there some update to the security settings? Is there any way to restore the PIN functionality?

I performed some research, and the only answer I could find involved installing an Xposed Framework module. I would prefer not to install the Xposed Framework.
Answers requiring a rooted device are fine (please just specify in your answer whether or not your solution requires root).

I'm trying to move the OBB files of some of my games to my SD card to free some internal storage space.
I looked for solutions and found the Obb on SD Xposed module, which says that "just enable module, reboot and move obb's to SD card (to same folder: Android/obb) - that's that." My device is already rooted and has the Xposed Framework installed. So I just downloaded and enabled the module and rebooted.
I'm looking to move Plants vs Zombies 2's OBB file which is around 600 MB, to the SD card. I've updated the game in Google Play Store and then started it to verify that it is fully updated and doesn't need to download anything.
I then moved the
com.ea.game.pvz2_row
directory (which contains the OBB file) in /storage/sdcard0/Android/obb/
to /storage/sdcard1/Android/obb/
using Amaze File Manager in root explorer mode. I rebooted the device and then I ran Plants vs Zombies 2 but upon starting, it started downloading resources of around ~600 MB (which is probably the directory I moved).
**How do I make Plants vs Zombies 2 recognize the moved OBB file in the SD card?**
Details:
- Device: Lenovo A3300-HV
- Android version: KitKat 4.4.2
- The device is rooted. SU management app is SuperSU.
- I already did the 'KitKat SD Card' fix and I have other apps that write to the SD card without any issues.
- The /storage/sdcard0/
directory despite its name, is actually internal storage. This device has only one physical SD card and it is at /storage/sdcard1/
.
- Obb on SD details:
- 'Data On SD' is unchecked
- Play Store Hooks is unchecked (I also
tried checking but it doesn't seem to affect the issue)
- Detect SD on
Android 5/6 is grayed-out and can't be toggled (says 'No path found')
- Internal Path says "Detected: /storage/emulated/0
".
