I just bought a new phone and I do not like the default ringtones/notification sounds, but I like the ones on my old phone. When I plug my old phone into my computer and go to This PC\KYOCERA\Internal storage\media\audio\ringtones like I have been told to go to for the default ringtones, the only ones that show up are a couple of custom ringtones I had put on previously. I want to extract the default ringtones like AT&T Play On and notification sounds like Syrma, so that I can put them on my new phone. I would prefer not to install drivers/programs onto my computer, but it would be okay with installing an app on my phone *if necessary*. I have the default Windows 10 programs on my computer, as well as and file commander and the rest of the default Android 5 apps on my old phone. Any help would be much appreciated.

I found some instructions to move the file to a certain location - or better locations because the locations because they seem to differ based on model and version. However, it's 2018 and developers are usually educated in basic UX, so there's probably an acceptable way to do this (assuming that it's not acceptable to force a user to speculate that a configuration option might be available after moving a file to a certain unspecified location in the context of a GUI - [forum threads like this one of a German LineageOS forum not based on meritocratic swarm intelligence suggest five contradictory approaches](https://www.lineage-os-forum.de/Thread-CM-MP3-als-Klingelton)) . I'm using LineageOS 14.1 on a Moto G 2014.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: Ringtone per SIM not working
On my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra I'm using dual-SIM with 1 physical SIM card and 1 eSIM. On my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra I'm using dual-SIM with 1 physical SIM card and 1 eSIM. I configured a different ringtone on each SIM. - Personal SIM card: Ringtone -> *Galaxy Bells* - RAM eSIM card: Ringtone -> *Over the horizon 2024* Physical SIM eSIM Ringtone Settings But regardless of which SIM card receives a call, I only hear the ringtone that is configured on the physical SIM (Personal). In the example of the attached screenshots, I only hear 'Galaxy Bells'. To be clear, I do hear the other ringtone when I select it (in the Ringtone settings), but the chosen value appears to be ignored by the phone. I've googled my problem but did not find anyone else experiencing the same issue. So, possibly the issue only occurs on my specific setup. Tried so far: - Reboot phone - Tried several ringtones on each SIM, but in all cases, only the ringtone configured on my Personal (physical) SIM is used - Updated to the latest official firmware Firmware - Confirmed that the ringtones are configured correctly in the dialer app settings (as suggested by Andrew, thanx) Dialer app settings ***UPDATE 03 feb 2025:*** I dropped my phone and it broke the screen :-( Fortunately I had it insured, so, last week I had it replaced. I Even got lucky as they swapped it for the version with 1TB storage (from 512GB). But the reason why I'm sharing this story is that I'm still/again experiencing the issue with the ringtones (that I described in my initial post). For some reason, On my new phone I was unable to restore my apps and setting from my previous phone. Therefore I had to (re)install everything from scratch. So, that tells me that the issue was not caused by some personal settings that got corrupted. I am convinced that there is a bug in the firmware of the S24 Ultra preventing individual ringtones per SIM when used with one physical SIM and one eSIM. PS: I could not reproduce the problem on my friend's Galaxy S24 plus. So it must be S24 Ultra specific.

However, this has a problem: if I am not looking at my phone and I hear the notification sound, I cannot tell at a(n auditory) glance who just sent a message. **Is there a way to set up individual ringtones based on sender in an RCS chat?** (I already know how to do this on a per-chat basis: Chat > triple dots > Group Details > Notifications > Ringtone. I am asking about doing this on a per-person basis in a single chat.)

I am using the default clock application on a Realme 8 5G phone to set alarms. Today I remembered an important alarm I wanted to set. However, my companion was in bed and I did not want to wake my companion up. Hence, I did not want to have the ringtones play when I selected them. But I couldn't just leave the default ringtone because my companion doesn't like it. Thus I must select a different one so that it doesn't bother my companion when it goes off. My idea was to turn off the volume and select the ringtone by ringtone name (in silence). I might have them memorized by name or just want to wait till it goes off to hear it. My strategy was to turn the volume off. However, clicking on the ringtone still makes me hear it. ringtones page with volume turned off globally Why doesn't Android silence the ringtones when I do this and select them, one at a time, in turn, from the ringtone radio controls? Is there a way to select the ringtones without making a noise? Thanks.

I want to set the ringtone for each contact with a particular label on my Pixel 2 (Android 11). Labels are a thing that contacts can have in the default android contacts app (from Google). There seems to be a lot of answers out there about doing this, but only when the contacts app has something *specifically* named "groups". There is nothing called "groups" in the default Google contacts app, but I think that labels are basically the same thing as "groups".

I found Android's ringtones (in /system/product/media/audio), and a lot of them have metadata. The most common name that shows up in the Artist section of the metadata for most ringtones, as far as I know, is "Dr. MAD". For example, you have "Growl.ogg" (real ringtone in the directory I mentioned above), which has metadata saying the Artist is "Dr. MAD". Who is "Dr. MAD"/who composed Growl (and all other "Dr. MAD" ringtones)? Google's song recognition (and Shazam) says it's this: Nthahouse - Big Jay Mack & Gino Veddy Cheddy, however I'm not convinced it is because the only audio of it available¹ sounds like someone just looped the ringtone over and over, and placed the vocals of a random song over the top. It seems as though the people who made that song actually sampled the ringtone. I've tried googling it, but Google keeps throwing irrelevant results at me. Or maybe I'm not searching the right thing. So, who is this person? ¹ [Nthahouse - Big Jay Mack (Growl Ringtone)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OlmHpc-mhk) on YouTube

My friend has an Android phone but she hates actually talking on the phone and hates being distracted by ringing or vibrating. Her mantra is that she'll check it when she checks it. This is quite annoying when I really need to get a hold of her as she often won't notice I was trying to call/text until later. She has the phone set on silent and turned off vibration. I am wondering if there's any way I can configure it so that either it rings, vibrates, or both -- but only if it's me calling? In other words, I'm asking if it's possible for only specific contacts to trigger a ring and/or vibration, while otherwise being silenced? I'm not sure if this is something that can be configured out-of-the-box as I have an iPhone and am unfamiliar with Android. But even if it involves installing a third-party app, that would be fine as long as it can achieve the same result. Is this possible on Android?

I have a Samsung S22 running Android 13. I use this with a bluetooth headset all day long, mostly for meetings and phone calls. If I disconnect the headset from the phone when not in use, it's quite annoying to reconnect every time I want to use the headset, especially when in a hurry because I'm trying to answer a phone call. (There's also a few moments of latency before the connection goes through, and that's especially annoying when I can't hear the caller at all.) But if I leave the phone and headset connected, and I put the headset down, then I don't hear the phone ring at all! (Or notifications.) So what I would like is for ringtones, text tones, and notifications to play through the headset AND the phone speakers. Failing that, to play those through the phone, but have the phone call itself (and Zoom and everything else) play through the headset. Can this be done?

The Album app on my phone fails to detect some of the pictures I have after I moved them. I tried clearing the Album app's data but it didn't do anything. After looking around the internet, I found that one way to refresh media apps is to find the Media Storage system app on the Settings and then clear it's data. After I did that, I noticed my notifications on some messaging apps stopped having sound. When I tried to select a new notification tone for it, I found out that all the default ringtones and notification sounds are missing. Is there a way to get this resolved like maybe there's a directory where these tones are placed in the system, or am I SOL? EDIT: After digging around, I found my notifications, ringtones, and alarm sounds are still in /system/media/audio/ but for some reason the ringtone selection dialog doesn't detect them. They don't have a .nomedia on the folder so it can't be that. Is there a way to force them to be rediscovered?

I don't have an Android, but my girlfriend said she needed an SD card, so I got her one. She put it in her phone, it just said 'setting up SD card' and she didn't have to do anything else. It made her ringtones for specific callers stop working. Then it stopped even showing her downloaded ringtones in Zedge and started using a 'default' ringtone which is one she had never heard, her phone is a T-Mobile Touch and its default ringtone is the T-Mobile theme, not the one that is playing. She has also been using a pet shop game on her phone for about 2 years and now she can't use it. It will just say the app isn't installed. Going into the application manager, I can see that there is a file with the word 'petshop' in it saying it is on the SD card, the file and the other 2 (one is eBay app) are grayed out. The whole purpose of the SD card was so that she could move all of her pictures of our son onto it in order to have them printed out or to move them to a new phone when she gets one. I don't honestly even know how to do that.
