I live in South Korea and receive a lot of calls from overseas. One thing that bothers me is that because of the local regulations, international caller IDs always contain an international prefix as follows. From Wikipedia: > South Korea: 001, 002, 003xx, 005, 006, 007xx, 008 Because of those prefixes, reading call logs is quite unintuitive. Is there a way to replace those prefixes with a plus sign so that I see nicely formatted numbers like +1 (352) 000-1111 instead of 00213520001111?

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but using oneplus official forums didn't give any answers. I changed my callerid to anonymous a few months ago, and i can't change it back to showing my callerId. All guids and FAQ's show me where to find the option and change it, but the callerid button in my phone is disabled/grayed out. I have no idea why, tried restarting the phone, disable/enable sim card, and fiddling with settings without any luck. Has anyone here encountered anythin similar, and know how to fix this ? My device is oneplus 10 pro running android version 13.

Background: My wife and I are foster parents, and our sponsoring agency uses its on-call phone system to call foster parents for emergency placements. The system has a single inbound number that forwards calls to the cell phone of the case worker who's on call that week, but for whatever reason* outbound calls placed from that case worker's cell come across with CID hidden. (I've seen both Private Number and Hidden Number, which I assume are carrier-specific variants.) *I'm aware of the personal privacy and work/life balance reasoning behind the decision. I just don't know why, instead of hiding the CID, they don't set the CID to the inbound number. Context: I've got a OnePlus 9 Pro 5G that was recently updated to Android 12. During the workday (8A-5P) I have Do Not Disturb enabled, with calls from Starred Contacts allowed. I also have the "2 calls within 15 minutes" rule enabled, but I don't know how that works with non-CID calls. Question: Is there any way to allow non-CID calls past the DND feature?

My Galaxy S Duos only shows unknown on the display when I have saved phone book contacts calling me? How and what do I do to get numbers to be displayed?

I've got a contact with several different (mobile) numbers. When they call me, I see their name, but not the specific number they're currently using. Also when looking at the call history after the call, I only see their name, and not which number was used. 1. Is there a setting I can change to make Android show me the specific number used when receiving a call? 2. Is there a setting I can change to make Android show me the specific number used when browsing call history? 3. In the absence of such a setting as asked for in no. 2 above, is there some other way when browsing call history to tell what number was used for a call?

I really like the "Caller ID announcement" feature, where it announces the number calling you. However, I've noticed it announces it regardless of my volume or mute settings. I do not want my phone making any noise if it's set to "Silent", or the ringer volume is all the way down. Any way to do that? I'm using Android 11 on a OnePlus 9 Pro running Oxygen OS 11.2.10.10.LE15AA. Thanks!

In my Nexus 4 i have successfully synced the contacts with their google plus and assigned them with their profile picture. The issue is when i call them (outgoing calls) i am able to get their pic in full screen. But when i receive calls (incoming calls) the pic is displayed partly at the top of the screen. What is the issue and how to solve this?

"Caller Name ID" appears on the notification panel constantly even though I clear all the notifications. How can get rid of this? (I'm not asking how to uninstall this app.)

I live in Argentina. Whenever I receive a phone call from *+54 11 xxxx-xxxx* and I have that number associated with *Roger* in my contacts, *Roger* is identified. But if I don't pick up for whatever reason, I get an SMS reporting the missed call. The number which originates the SMS is reported as *+54 9 11 xxxx-xxxx*, and *Roger* is not identified. If I add *+54 9 11 xxxx-xxxx* as a number for *Roger*, the SMS ID is correctly updated, which confirms the SMS app has access to my contacts. I shouldn't need replicating the number for all my contacts. Currently using Android 11, Samsung S10e.
This was working fine in my previous Android 8, Samsung J7 prime, prior to my *Smart Switch*.

I didn't try syncing numbers stored in the phone with my Google account as here (and I am not sure my problem is the same as that other). I am right now checking in my old phone a message that I received, with number *+54 9 11 xxxx-xxxx*, and SMS ID is correct. The same message, in my new phone (transferred via Smart Switch) is not SMS-IDentified. ### How are phone numbers built Phone numbers are built as *+(Country) (Area) (Number)* as usual, with a possible extra *9* after the country code, or a possible extra *15* after the area code. The historical reasons for those extra numbers, and when were they mandatory (calling from abroad/within Argentina, phone call/SMS, calling from mobile/landline, calling to mobile/landline, etc.) are a separate issue. These rules kept confusing people, in particular foreigners. Nowadays **networks are smart enough**, the rules are *mostly* (I wouldn't dare saying 100%) not needed. You could also use *+(Country) (Area) (No.)* from within Argentina; before, that was not allowed, *0(Area) (No.)* was needed from within Argentina. I am not certain, but I think even *(Area) (No.)* works. This is similar to what happens in other countries. In android is there a way to display a user entered note specific to a contact whenever that respective contact calls? Something like this... For context, it has to be similar to how Truecaller app displays the contact details of an incoming call including name, phone number and location. I got a spam call on my mobile recently and while the phone was ringing, on the screen I can see my location displayed along with incoming person's name. Why my phone was showing my own location for this particular call? Does it mean that my phone is compromised or something? Edit: Just before the call, I was having a call with a scammer who was trying to trick me to enter my bank details through a phishing site (which I entered some random numbers, but correct phone number)

Hi basically I have a new ePos system at my shop, they have a feature where it automatically inputs the callers number into the system to bring up their ‘profile’ from previous orders they’ve made. However their caller ID app runs from Android phones and obviously we use landline phones. I just wondered if anyone knows a way to have the android app triggered by a landline phone without having to do call forwarding? The invoxia VoiceBridge would have been perfect but of course they have discontinued it. I just want a cell phone to receive a call alongside the landline phone. Thanks!

Sometimes someone will call me and their photo will show as the phone rings. In the cases I'm referring to I've never added a photo to the contact---somehow the phone picks up their image over the Internet. I'd like to register my photo in such a place, but how does it work? I have had both iPhone and Android users call me and sometimes I get their "Photo Caller ID" for lack of a better term. My phone is an HTC m8 running LineageOS 14.1. Thanks for your help!

Where I'm living right now people can call you with reverse charges by adding 99 prefix to the call. The problem if that the received call ID appears with 99 as prefix and suffix, and unless you know their number you have no way of knowing who's calling. Example: > Let's say John's number is 5 123 4567 and he calls me with reverse charges. My phone caller ID will then display that 995123456799 is calling. What I would like to do is to get the phone to both tell me it is a reverse charge call and who is the person calling. Is there a way to do this other than creating an extra contact per person named "Reverse Contact"? (e.g. "Reverse John")

Dear Android enthusiasts, I have a landline telephone with expensive calling rates, while the contract in my android smartphone is quite cheap. In order to save money I would like to call with my handy, but showing the telephone number **of my landline**. In that way people can call me back and I avoid revealing my smartphone number. Do you have any idea, how to show another telephone number when calling? I know how to hide the number, but that is no solution. Thanks!

I'm getting calls from a hidden number. Since the first call I've set up a blocking rule for hidden numbers, but they haven't stopped. I want to get a little more creative. The next time they call, before I pick up, I want to redirect the call to the Dutch embassy in Dubai. I did some googling and Dubai numbers are the most expensive to call where I live. Ideally, this will be automated, but I'm happy to do it myself the first few times. Is there a way to do this? I'd be happy to pay a few bucks for a third-party app.
