Disabling calls, selectively in WhatsApp
I would like to disable calls for some contacts, in WhatsApp. I still want to interact with them via messaging. How can I do this? I have two accounts. As an alternative, disabling calls for one account will also work. - Blocking contact in non Whatsapp part of the contact, has no effect.

What I've tried:
- Checked my phone's native settings in the Phone app, but couldn't find an option to send other callers to voicemail.
- Installed Truecaller, but it only offers options to block calls from outside my contact list, not send them to voicemail.
- Looked through my phone's Do Not Disturb settings, but it gets complicated when I also want to silence my contacts at night.
My goal is to have these calls go straight to voicemail without blocking them entirely, as I still want to receive their voicemail messages and have the option to call them back if needed.
Device: Google Pixel 8
OS: Android 14

I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 (Verizon) phone. Contacts that I blocked create new telephone numbers online to call me constantly. I want my normal unblocked contacts to ring (family, friends, doctors, others). My goal is for all numbers not in my contact list to go to voice mail before the ring. So I can use my device normally without the distraction of unknown callers.
Research shows:
- Airplane Mode inhibits the full use of my phone.
- Do not Disturb limits my notifications.
- Spam blockers do not block the new numbers people create.
- Premium voice mail only works on a known contact (I have this).
- Block from the phone or the website only works on a known contact number.
- Setting a ringtone only works on a contact already in the list.
- Changing my number is only temporary so not an option.
Many solutions have to do with a known number to manipulate. An unknown number is the bane of my existence. Can anyone help?

I would like to ask support from you to solve an issue with my Samsung A325F/DS (android version: 13). The phone is not rooted.
The issue is: the phone blocks all calls from my wife despite her number is not listed on the block list. Actually, there are not people on the list of blocked contacts. The problem occured first on 3rd June and it is persistent. I have tried the following:
- restarted phone: still blocked
- put her number to the block list and remove: still blocked
- remove her contact and then readd: still blocked
- asked her to call me on the other SIM: still blocked
- replaced Samsung's phone app with Google's phone app: still blocked
- turned off spam filtering: still blocked
Text messages do come through from her. I can call her without any problems. No other numbers are blocked. I am contemplating to try factory reset, but I would like explore other options if you have any ideas.

I have Xiaomi Poco F3 running on Android 13, fully updated. I know my relative is aging fast in the last few months, so we normally call each other 4 to 7 times a day. TODAY: I visited her at 11:20. At 14:05, she had already called me three times. So, to put down a little stress on me, meanwhile letting her keep her phone, I thought about taking a selective blocking action on that number.
Says my phone refuses her calls:
* from 00:00 to 08:30
* from 09:45 to 12:30
* from 13:30 to 16:30
* from 17:10 to 18:45
* from 23:00 to 00:00
While I may call her anytime, **she will be able to reach me** only on the usual timetable:
* Coffee time 08:30 > 09:45
* Meal time 16:30 > 17:00
* Supper time 18:45 > 23:00
***BUT NOT DURING WORKING HOURS AND NIGHT***. Meanwhile, all the other calls are as per usual
I couldn't find any leads to a practical answer on the web. Only generic-non-useful-well-known.

I have two phones, A and B. From A phone I can call whoever I want. From B I can call whoever I want except A -- when I call A, the call is forwarded automatically to voicemail.
It is not about network range, or something, or not enough money. It is most likely B phone number is blacklisted on phone A and such call is blocked (forwarded).
How to unblock it?
## And what happened
I suspect that some call blocking app made that mess -- to test it, I actually block phone number A on phone B, and made a call. With the exactly same results as described above.
After that, I removed that phone number, than I uninstalled entire application, I rebooted phone, I checked the system settings (stock blocking: off, blacklist: empty). There is no other blocking app installed (just in case I removed related calling apps, like Skype).
Yet, once blocked, the phone number remains blocked.
How to undo this?
*Phone A (the one with such permanent block) is Galaxy Ace 2, Android 2.3.*
## Updates
**Update 1:** On phone A in logs I can see all those "unreachable" calls. So they are received. Also there is small tooltip on phone A "forward call" (when call is received).

The spammers use a prefix and change the last 3 or 4 numbers of the phone, and I want to block them all. The android native phone app allows me to block numbers, and it works, but without wildcards, so I can't block all numbers with a given prefix without entering them one by one (not an option).
I want to know if the Phone app blacklist is stored anywhere that I can edit it with a text editor, or if there is a way to add phones to it using terminal, so I can write a script to add all phones I want to block.

The Google Phone app now reports when a suspected call is spam. Right now when I receive such a call, I have the choice to block that number. But what I'd like to do is pre-emptively set it up so that any such call is automatically blocked without my intervention.
I've investigated apps like Root Call Blocker Pro, and while they seem to do the silent, transparent blocking I'm after, it seems to require me actively maintaining a black list, entering the phone numbers I want to block. I'd like to rely on the Google's suspicions to block them. How can I set this up?
Alternately, might this be something my carrier can handle on a network-level? I'd be happy to pay for a relatively cheap app or work up a tasker/etc solution, but I'd rather not pay AT&T for a monthly service.

Incoming call notifications not working - Phone state
In my Android phone, Incoming calls notification is not working.Out going is working fine. Actually Whenever I am calling my mobile from my friend's mobile, Its saying "line is busy". If I visit call logs in my mobile, I can see My friend's number in the log. I was having this issue for past 4 days....

I was having this issue for past 4 days.
Thankfully, I checked the logfile(log.txt which resides in phone memory somewhere. I guess its the log of the whole phone) of my phone. In that file I can see the following log message 5 times like below.
Phonestate: Incoming call notify is disabled

Phonestate: Incoming call notify is disabled
Phonestate: Incoming call notify is disabled
I guess, I have to change this phone state, I dont know how to change that. Can u help me out?
