I drafted a new message to a new phone number in WhatsApp on Android, then I clicked on another message thread with another phone number. I can't see the draft anymore unless I enter the phone number again in the search box. I feel I'm missing something. Where can I find my drafts for new phone numbers in WhatsApp?

I wanted to delete a contact from my phone, but to my surprise, when I searched for their name in my phone's contacts, nothing showed up. No one with that name or number was in my contact list. Their name, profile picture, status, etc. are all showing normally on WhatsApp and Telegram though. I tried to clear the cache for WhatsApp and also refreshed the contact list. Nothing changed. I was curious and checked a few other contacts that I saved through WhatsApp. They don't show up in my phone's contacts either. So I have their number but somehow cannot delete them. Does anyone know what to do here?

I have a Huawei P20 Lite with Android 9, EMUI 9.1.0 and WhatsApp 2.19.253, which is the latest version. As I wrote in the title, I can't receive WhatsApp messages, after many hours of researching I didn't find any solution for my problem. This is the first time I face whit this problem, because I managed and configured variues P20 Lite but none of them gave me that headache. The things which I did: * Turn on every single option for WhatsApp's notifications; * Uninstall the application and install it again; * Remove the app from the battery optimization process; * Clear the cache; * Enabled automatic start, secondary start and running in background, following this steps Settings -> Battery -> app launch -> 3 vertical dots -> manage manually; * No limit for internet traffic and allow background data, following Settings -> networks and wireless -> data usage -> select WhatsApp -> enabled the varius option. Any idea or solution for this problem? EDIT When I send a message from my phone to this P20 Lite, on the message appears only 1 tick, such as the P20 is disconnected from wifi/mobile data, but the wifi is enabled and connected, the same behaviour with mobile data.

I have an old local backup of WhatsApp stored in crypt12 format from 2018 which I would like to restore on a recent version of WhatsApp. I have access to the WhatsApp account and currently it's storing the backups in the newer crypt14 format. What I've tried without success: - When trying the regular way of putting the files into /sdcard/Android/media/com.whatsapp, WhatsApp does not start a restore. I suppose it's not supported on recent versions - Installing an old version throws a date error, even when using airplane mode trickery and changing the date, I cannot get it ot login. - I extracted my private key from the new WhatsApp installation with root access, but tools like whatsapp-viewer and wa-crypt-tools throw key/decryption errors. How can I get access to this old backup? I don't necessarily need to merge the old and new (crypt12 and crypt14) backups, access to the old one would suffice. It also does not have to be natively via WhatsApp on the phone, I'm even happy to just get a JSON dump or something.

WhatsApp has a Media Visibility feature which if disabled, hides the media files from the phone gallery. It is claimed that "apparently" it reduces file storage. > But WhatsApp still has to store media in some location, otherwise, how would it show in chats? In my Samsung Galaxy S9, WhatsApp is showing that it uses 37.89GB of internal storage when I checked the app info. Due to that, my phone's data is getting full and all the other apps are getting hung due to less storage space left in my mobile phone. First I deleted chat from WhatsApp, then I deleted contact from my phone. Then I refreshed WhatsApp 2-3 times. But when I type name in search bar, that contact is visible in WhatsApp without any previous chats.

Third-party tools (like WazzapMigrator & iCareFone) → Didn’t help or couldn’t access data properly. 4. Clearing cache, reinstalling, airplane mode tricks, changing SIM first, etc. → No change – still 69%. **What I’m considering**: I could live without the media files, if there’s any way to extract only the text/chat history from the backup. Is it possible to manually trim the backup size (e.g. remove media from the Drive backup)? Can the local .crypt14 be repaired or force-used? **Key question**: Is this a size issue (30 GB too large)? Or is the Google Drive backup possibly corrupted? I just need to access the text – the chat history is my entire business.

WhatsApp data is taking around 700 mb of internal storage which excludes media. If I delete all the database backup except for the latest one, will my all previous chats get deleted? I don't want to delete any of my chat

I would like to disable calls for some contacts, in WhatsApp. I still want to interact with them via messaging. How can I do this? I have two accounts. As an alternative, disabling calls for one account will also work. - Blocking contact in non Whatsapp part of the contact, has no effect.

I can add photos to normal contacts fine. But WhatsApp, by default, uses the photo the the contact has allocated. Is there a way to allocate a photo to a WhatsApp contact?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone running on Android 5.0. At home and in the office, when I'm connected to a WiFi network and the screen is locked (sleep), WhatsApp doesn't receive any messages until I unlock the screen. I don't use so many apps so I can't confirm if this is the case with other applications or not, however, I might have experienced the same problem with the email app as well. I have observed my phone behavior and noted that other applications (e.g., hangouts) show act the same. Furthermore, I noted another fact that might shed some light: Say, I unlock my screen and after several seconds my apps start to notify me about some messages. But the time-stamp of these messages aren't for this moment but rather [e.g.] half an hour ago when they were supposed to be delivered. "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" is set to "Always", I don't have any power management application or any particular settings. I checked WhatsApp FAQ and they suggested checking priority notification, which I don't use. Searching the web suggests clearing cache and data which doesn't solve the problem. I have cleared the cache/data files, updated the app, etc. I would highly applicate if you submit answers that do not suggest these generic (and almost always non-functional) workarounds. Any workaround?
