I’m currently experiencing an issue with my Samsung Galaxy A15 4G. After approximately 6 hours of usage, the phone suddenly behaves as if there’s no SIM card inserted. I’ve conducted some tests and found that the same issue persists even when the SIM card is placed in the second slot. This has led me to wonder if the problem could be due to the age of my SIM card, which is nearly 8 years old, or if it’s an issue with the phone itself. **Update:** I tried a different SIM card and still did the same thing. Also, note that the device is rooted, not sure if that can be something. Also, just testing the phone with none rooted AP file. Does anyone have any insights on whether the age of a SIM card could cause such an issue? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is there an app out there or would it even be possible to configure Android this way, that a specific task is being executed when a call is received to a specific SIM-card or the other way round: when a specific number is calling? I'm thinking about tasks like rebooting, turning off, or factory resetting the phone. Google's "Find My Device" offers some related features, but as far as I know, they only work when the missing phone is (still) connected to the Internet.

I need a phone to use as a wireless monitor for a GoPro camera. The GoPro Quik software only works on Android 9 or later and is only available from Google Play. As far as I know, Google Play only works on Android phones with a working SIM card. Does anyone know, if I buy an UNLOCKED Samsung Galaxy S9 and got a temporary SIM card, could I download the app and would it continue to work after the SIM card expired? This is the only thing I will use the phone for. If you know or have any suggestions please let me know.

How to start Android and bypass the SIM PIN? I'm asking myself why it is not possible to start/boot Android without entering the PIN for the SIM card. The smartphone is a computer, with it's own authorization mechanism (device pin, finger print, ...) that I could easily use without access to the SIM and therefore the mobile network. (It is not about the screen lock pin). Why does Android not allow to start without this SIM card PIN and later enter the PIN? (E.g when I looked it up in my password manager in the phone)? I'm using a Google Pixel 4a - Android 13 (not rooted). I've not found a way in the settings about this. Is there any way (removing the SIM is not a real solution)? To add more context / explenation: - The smartphone is protected with the device PIN (or finger print, ...). This is required on "login" after a reboot or to remove the screen lock. - The SIM card is protected with the SIM PIN. This pin is required when the SIM functions are accessed - usually the smartphone keeps its authenticated access to the SIM functions once accessed for the first time as long as it is running. (This is not a permanent unlocking of the SIM, I don't know if this is even possible) - The problem is that on startup/boot of Android is accessing the SIM card forcing to enter the SIM PIN. This can not be skipped. This shall not be needed, as the Smartphone would work fine without the SIM as well (e.g. if physically removed).

I woke up one morning to find my mobile (it's pretty beat-up and recently had a professional screen replacement) displaying "No Service". I'm now unable to use mobile internet, make calls or texts. Other connections, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc. are working fine. Here's what I've done so far: - Check that the SIM works > I've visited my network provider and have got a replacement SIM. This has been check that it works in another functional phone. - Checked that the phone detects the SIM > *#06# in the dialer correctly shows the IMEI number and when I go to SIM Manager, it correctly shows my network provider. - Tried to manually select network provider, but when I try to deselected "Select automatically" I get a "Error while searching for networks" message. - Reset mobile network settings > no change. - Factory reset > no change. - Used *#0011# to show SIM info > HPLMN(234-30F) sim_state(0), No Service, Final IMEI Certi: PASS - Used *#9900# → run cp based log → copy to sdcard, then found the *internal storage/log folder/err folder/ss_log folder/MIPI_TEST.txt.* All devices were detected Present(0) - Used the Samsung Members Diagnostic tool to check all hardware - came back all OK. - Disassembled and inspected for loose connections and checked continuity of antenna cables (the white and blue ones). Reassembled and rechecked phone hardware - still "no service". I've been through just about every post on this and tried everything. No idea what to try next. I'm suspecting hardware failure. No idea what to replace. Antenna module? Charging port module? Motherboard? Any ideas?

However, instead of using SIM #1 for data, the phone is simply not getting any mobile data at all. Any ideas on tackling this problem? Thanks.

I tried *lineage-21.0-20240706-nightly-xz2c* and *lineage-21.0-20240712-nightly-xz2c* -> still SIM not detected 5. SONY Xperia z3c (with outdated LOS) and iPhone 11 -> SIM detected 6. Installed /e/OS on xz2c -> SIM not detected To sum up: SIM seems to be okay. Two devices of the same type with different Android-bases OSs cannot detect (more than one) SIM Card. I doubt an identical hardware crash in two independent devices at the same time. Any ideas for further investigations? Any chance that there is a systematic bug in the current android-based builds? Any similar experiences with xz2c?
