I have a rooted OnePlus 2 running LineageOS 14 latest.
How can I enable the Do Not Disturb feature for just my personal SIM card, without also enabling it for my work SIM card? Specifically, I'd like to be able to have my personal SIM on Priority mode, if possible, which allows starred/favourited contacts to still ring.
I plan to upgrade to LineageOS 15 soon, but I can do this right away if it is a prerequisite.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: Ringtone per SIM not working
On my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra I'm using dual-SIM with 1 physical SIM card and 1 eSIM. I configured a different ringtone on each SIM. - Personal SIM card: Ringtone -> *Galaxy Bells* - RAM eSIM card: Ringtone -> *Over the horizon 2024* [![Physical SIM][1th]][1] [![eSIM][2th]][2] [![Ringtone Settings]...
On my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra I'm using dual-SIM with
1 physical SIM card and 1 eSIM.
I configured a different ringtone on each SIM.
- Personal SIM card: Ringtone -> *Galaxy Bells*
- RAM eSIM card: Ringtone -> *Over the horizon 2024*
But regardless of which SIM card receives a call, I only hear the ringtone that is configured on the physical SIM (Personal).
In the example of the attached screenshots, I only hear 'Galaxy Bells'.
To be clear, I do hear the other ringtone when I select it (in the Ringtone settings), but the chosen value appears to be ignored by the phone.
I've googled my problem but did not find anyone else experiencing the same issue. So, possibly the issue only occurs on my specific setup.
Tried so far:
- Reboot phone
- Tried several ringtones on each SIM, but in all cases, only the ringtone configured on my Personal (physical) SIM is used
- Updated to the latest official firmware
- Confirmed that the ringtones are configured correctly in the dialer app settings (as suggested by Andrew, thanx)
***UPDATE 03 feb 2025:***
I dropped my phone and it broke the screen :-( Fortunately I had it insured, so, last week I had it replaced.
I Even got lucky as they swapped it for the version with 1TB storage (from 512GB).
But the reason why I'm sharing this story is that I'm still/again experiencing the issue with the ringtones (that I described in my initial post).
For some reason, On my new phone I was unable to restore my apps and setting from my previous phone. Therefore I had to (re)install everything from scratch. So, that tells me that the issue was not caused by some personal settings that got corrupted.
I am convinced that there is a bug in the firmware of the S24 Ultra preventing individual ringtones per SIM when used with one physical SIM and one eSIM.
PS: I could not reproduce the problem on my friend's Galaxy S24 plus. So it must be S24 Ultra specific.

I have a Samsung Galaxy On Max and inserted two different carrier SIM cards, Jio4g and Airtel. It has been written that this device is dual SIM 4G. It was working fine till I was using Jio 4G as my LTE network and for mobile data as well, but when I recharged my Airtel SIM card and switched it to 4G, my Jio SIM was disabled (Jio doesn't have 3G/2G connectivity). So it means I can use only one SIM with 4G enabled.
On the basis of the device model, it supports 4G SIM on both slots but not at the same time. It means it does have an SoC that can handle LTE networks on both SIMs.
My concern is, can Samsung provide some update so that users can use both SIMs as 4G (LTE) simultaneously?

SIM #1 is my default SIM, and SIM #2 is a data SIM which I'm using only for mobile data.
Obviously, I've defined SIM #1 to be the default SIM for calls and SMS, and SIM #2 to be the default SIM for data.
When I'm in an active call on SIM #1, SIM #2 is automatically blocked.
However, instead of using SIM #1 for data, the phone is simply not getting any mobile data at all.
Any ideas on tackling this problem? Thanks.

When I travel I don't want to use the pricey roaming for my home SIM card (first), but I would like to make and receive call with my home number. I usually get a local sim card (second) and use it as data SIM card.
It would be perfect to use cellular data from second SIM card to make calls (travel/local) with first SIM card (home).
I'm using a Google Pixel, but I'm asking in general for Android.

I recently had a problem with merging all the data from two phones (one personal and one for work) into a corporate owned personal work profile dual-sim phone.
Here, importing the contacts for the work profile was a problem. Importing via file, transferred via the work-profile OneDrive app did not work.
So, the next attempt was to store all contacts on the SIM card of the old work phone and move the (work) SIM into the new dual-sim phone.
However, the contacts stored on the (work) SIM show up in the personal-profile contacts only.
Is there a way to associate a SIM card with a profile?
E.g. SIM1 is personal and SIM2 is work, so that the personal contacts app only shows contacts stored on SIM1?
This would also apply to SMS, e.g. handling SMS received from the work SIM by the messages app of the work-profile.

If you're using the internet on the phone, does Android auto-switch between SIMs on dual-SIM phones when one of the SIMs has poor reception?
https://honestmobile.co.uk/ seem to think some phones do and they advise turning it off so as not to interfere with their own app that selects from the providers they MVNO on top of.
It would be a handy alternative to Speedify VPN to bond separate mobiles, if the SIMs in those could be put in a dual SIM phone.
(By the way, I don't have an financial interest or otherwise in Honest Mobile, nor Speedify).
Thank you.

Force WiFi calling of SIM2 over data of SIM1
Is there any way I can disable the radio of SIM2 so I can only have 1 active SIM and 1 WiFi calling? Can I use ADB to achieve this, or anything else that doesn't need root or bootloader unlocked?

I have a Huawei P20 Pro. This might be a quirk with their software, but I thought I should ask either way.
Let's say you have two phones with two numbers. One is your private phone and one is your work phone. During the day you can put your private phone on silent and your work phone with sound on. When you go home for the day you can put the work phone on silent and turn the sound on for your private phone.
If you put both SIM-cards in the P20 Pro, you cannot choose to have one SIM with sound on, and one on silent. You can choose that one SIM should vibrate and one should not. This only works with sound on. If you put the phone on vibrate, it vibrates for both SIM-cards. If you put it on silent, it is silent for both sim cards.
I also have the problem that I can set the notification sounds to "None", but I can't seem to turn off the vibration for notifications. I want the notifications for all apps in the notification bar, but I do not want sound or vibration no matter the settings for calls. So to sum up, this is what I was hoping to be possible. Is there an app for this?
- Individually control sound, silent mode, and vibration on/off for both SIM-cards
- Turn off sound and vibration for all notifications from apps like Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, SMS Messages, etc. regardless of silent mode, vibration mode or sound volume, etc.
Is one of these or both of these possible, with or without an app? I may root the phone if I can keep the stock firmware, it is safe, and possible to reset.

The Dual SIM management interface at least under Android 10 is badly designed. With two SIMs inserted, esp. when they are of the same mobile operator, I struggle with quickly determining which status bar icon or SIM card list entry refers to which SIM card.
What best practices are available to help deal with this situation?
----
By "badly designed", I refer to these issues:
* The SIM card list in Android settings and the SIM icon list in the Android status bar do not make clear by which criterion they are ordered. They do not make any reference to the concept of a "first" and "second" SIM card, so it is not even clear if there is such a concept at all in Android.
* The freetext "SIM names" that one can assign to SIM cards in Android do not make clear if they are names for SIM cards or SIM card slots.
* At least for some SIM cards, the SIM info screen of Android does not list any information. Neither the card's phone number, nor the SIM card ID (a long number printed on the card), nor any other ID.
* When one connection type abbreviation ("4G", "3G" etc.) is written between the two signal strength indicator icons in the status bar, it is unclear if SIM1 (left icon) or SIM2 (right icon) has the active data connection. Of course, one could remember that the connection type always refers to the icon following it, but one will also forget again …
* On top, the layout of the SIM tray on some phones (e.g. Galaxy Note 9) is counterintuitive as the first SIM card is at the bottom, while in the Android UI, the first SIM card is always listed at the top. The tray has "SIM1" and "SIM2" written on it, but this is very small and easy to overlook.

I have a 2-SIM phone and need to be able to unregister one of the SIMs from the network each Friday from 16:30 to 20:00. The reason is that this SIM is a duplicate of another SIM which my friends use to stream a series of lectures every Friday. The SIMs have unlimited data, so I want to use my copy for data during the rest of the week.
Both of the SIMs cannot be connected to the network at the same time because then the behavior is unpredictable and we do not want any interruptions in the stream. I could physically pull the SIM out every Friday, but I might forget and it's a hassle to open the phone every time.
**Is there a way to schedule a disconnection of the SIM from the carrier network on schedule?**
(There may be an app for that, but I couldn't find one. I am a software developer, so I can even write my own if there is some way to accomplish this, but I'm not sure whether there is an API that would allow this. I have a Fairphone 3, so I can even root the phone as well.)

I have a problem with the app 'Contacts' on my Android 7.1 Nougat (Wilefox Swift 2x). In this app both phone numbers from my google account and from whatsapp are synchronized.
- Sometimes the app shows the wrong phone number for a contact. When I call this contact, the person the number belongs to is called instead (always another existing contact). At that time I'm not able to see the correct phone number for the contact. When I try to edit the contact, the phone number is not shown or correct.
- In other situations an incorrect number (number of another contact) is added to a contact. In this case both the correct and the wrong numbers are shown, only the correct number is visible when I try to edit the contact.
- In both cases it says the number is a whatsapp contact. These numbers shouldn't be linked however. I've never done so and I'm not allowed to unlink this.
Recently I removed all contacts and added them manually again. Everytime when adding a new number manually, there was automatically a duplicate added in the contact list from Google Contacts. And again I saw a couple of persons with a number that don't belong to them.
Does anybody know how I can stop this from happening? This is very annoying.
Thanks in advance!
Update: The issue may be caused by a second whatsapp I'm running on this dual sim (in parallel space). Does anyone have more information on how to solve this without removing the second whatsapp?
