I want a custom vibration "tone" (pattern) for different callers or applications.
Does Android have any facility for this? Can contacts hold custom information like this?

Text message notification- vibration during call
I am on Moto G4+ with Android N, version 7.0. I am facing a weird issue where any incoming text message causes the phone to vibrate **even when I am in the middle of a phone call.** Is there a standard first party way to turn this behaviour off? This is really annoying.

I upgraded from Galaxy Mega to Galaxy S6 Edge +.
There is no menu button. In Galaxy Mega, part of the menu contains changing the settings of the countdown timer alarm.
One setting I had was that I could **set my phone to vibrate while the countdown timer alarm rings when the countdown finishes.**
So texts and notifications from apps make my phone only vibrate, but my countdown timer rings.
In Galaxy S6 Edge +, it seems like my phone vibrates iff my countdown timer alarm vibrates.
How can I allow the countdown timer to ring while my phone is set to vibrate mode?
---
Galaxy mega has option in timer to change volume. The timer indeed goes off even when the phone is in vibrate. This does not seem to be allowed in s6e+

Bounty note: I think there's something in sounds and notifications, but I can't seem to find it.

I used to have
Silet Time

The application sets silent mode or vibration at scheduled time of the week.
I now have **Android 6** and that application does not work anymore; I also tried Silent Hours

The Do not disturb
mode works but it doesn't allow setting vibration, only full silent mode which is good for sleeping, but not in other occasions (office hours, meetings, etc).
Is there a way to achieve this on **Android 6**?

So there is this thing that has annoyed me since my Samsung Galaxy S8. The default vibration pattern for notifications (when on vibrate mode) seems to be two short vibrations.
This is driving me nuts as I always have my smartphone on vibrate but I want it to only vibrate once, one short "bing" kind of vibration.
I tried several apps which allow you to control the vibration pattern, but they all seem to work only if not in vibrate mode or for older types of OS (< 8). Mind you that this is pretty much only about WhatsApp, as I don't receive many messages via SMS or anything else. Changing the pattern in WhatsApp does nothing (it keeps vibrating literally exactly the same), external Apps do something sometimes (sometimes 3 vibrations, sometimes 1, most often still 2, and nothing is really reproducible). Finally, Android itself does not really give you any control over vibrations unless I miss something.
I even had a look at the source code which (if I understand correctly) hardcodes the vibration pattern fallback for vibrate mode and does not allow any changes.
I know that it sounds really stupid but this is such a big grind for me, that I even consider switching the OS, as it drives me insane. So if anybody has any help it would be much appreciated.
If relevant, the device is an Essential Phone running Android 10. There is no "Sounds and Vibrations" setting, there is only a "Sound" setting which allows me to change the call and notification sounds but not the patterns.

I've tried to add them manually and set the right permissions, but that didn't change anything. Also, I've tried to look for the vibration.ko or kernel modules file but have had no luck.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra running Android 14.
I've noticed that if I set it on mute, it will ask me if I want the mute to be temporary, and if I answer Yes, it asks me for how long.
I had a meeting to attend today, so a couple of days ago I set an alarm scheduled to wake me today and remind me of the meeting. It didn't wake me, so I missed my meeting!
When I investigated why, I found that it was because I'd set it to Vibrate mode last night, so I could be alerted to incoming text messages without disturbing everyone attending the meeting I was at last night. The functionality that would have solved the problem would be similar to the Temporary Mute functionality I described above, but set to vibrate instead of mute. Do Android phones have a Temporary Vibrate function that would allow me to set it to notify me by vibrating during a specific period of time, and then when that time is up automatically switch to notifying me by playing the ringtone?

**Device**: Pixel 6a,stock Android, April security patch on Android 14.
**Problem**: After updating to April security patch, vibration stopped working.
**Things tried to fix the problem (unsuccessful)**:
* Toggled on/off vibration settings under accessibility.
* Rebooted.
* Problem persists in [tag:safe-mode]. I denied vibration permission to all apps using [Permission Manager X](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shexa.permissionmanager) .
* Scoured the internet. This issue has been reported and the solutions are what has been described above.

To any hardware engineers out there - build a phone without vibration and I'd buy it in an instant.

I'd like to do it using Tasker. @Izzy recommended the "Vibrate On Notify" toggle but that doesn't seem to be available for me; unsure as to why (see image below).
I'd be open to installing Xposed Frameworks module if needed. Any ideas?

Currently, Do Not Disturb fully disables incoming calls, or only shows a silent notification. How can I just make it cause calls to vibrate when I have Do Not Disturb turned on?
**My real goal:**
I do deep-thinking work as a software developer. I need 4+ hr blocks of time undisturbed so I can do deep work. I'd like to start each work day by turning on "Do Not Disturb" mode for 8 hrs, but I need to still be notified of calls--just via vibrate is all so it's less-intrusive, in case it's a doctor's office, the [car repair person fixing my brakes](https://mechanics.stackexchange.com/q/88265/71510) , my wife with an important message, etc.
My phone is Google Pixel 5 with Android 12.

I have a Huawei P20 Pro. This might be a quirk with their software, but I thought I should ask either way.
Let's say you have two phones with two numbers. One is your private phone and one is your work phone. During the day you can put your private phone on silent and your work phone with sound on. When you go home for the day you can put the work phone on silent and turn the sound on for your private phone.
If you put both SIM-cards in the P20 Pro, you cannot choose to have one SIM with sound on, and one on silent. You can choose that one SIM should vibrate and one should not. This only works with sound on. If you put the phone on vibrate, it vibrates for both SIM-cards. If you put it on silent, it is silent for both sim cards.
I also have the problem that I can set the notification sounds to "None", but I can't seem to turn off the vibration for notifications. I want the notifications for all apps in the notification bar, but I do not want sound or vibration no matter the settings for calls. So to sum up, this is what I was hoping to be possible. Is there an app for this?
- Individually control sound, silent mode, and vibration on/off for both SIM-cards
- Turn off sound and vibration for all notifications from apps like Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, SMS Messages, etc. regardless of silent mode, vibration mode or sound volume, etc.
Is one of these or both of these possible, with or without an app? I may root the phone if I can keep the stock firmware, it is safe, and possible to reset.

I use [Digital Wellbeing's Bedtime mode](https://blog.google/outreach-initiatives/digital-wellbeing/improve-your-sleep/) to automatically turn my phone on silent for the night and back on vibrate for the day. In the morning, when it automatically turns on the vibrate mode at 7 am, it vibrates once. This annoyingly sometimes wakes me up. Consequently, I want to prevent my Android from vibrating once when I turn on vibrate mode.
Tried:
1. I went to Settings > Sounds and vibration > Vibrate. Changing the Vibration intensity for calls to zero did the trick. Now my phone no longer vibrates when turned to vibrate. But it also doesn't vibrate if I get a call which is a bigger problem than what it solved.
2. I turned the sleep mode settings to a later point. Better, but possibly a problem if I missed an early call.
How do I just disable the vibration when the vibrate mode is turned on, but keep all other vibrations intact?

My friend has an Android phone but she hates actually talking on the phone and hates being distracted by ringing or vibrating. Her mantra is that she'll check it when she checks it. This is quite annoying when I really need to get a hold of her as she often won't notice I was trying to call/text until later. She has the phone set on silent and turned off vibration.
I am wondering if there's any way I can configure it so that either it rings, vibrates, or both -- but only if it's me calling? In other words, I'm asking if it's possible for only specific contacts to trigger a ring and/or vibration, while otherwise being silenced? I'm not sure if this is something that can be configured out-of-the-box as I have an iPhone and am unfamiliar with Android. But even if it involves installing a third-party app, that would be fine as long as it can achieve the same result. Is this possible on Android?

I'm developing a game, I do offer an optional setting with periodic vibrations for a specific game mode. To make this work well, I need a very short vibration.
On my device, 20ms vibration duration works very well but on other devices, it appears to don't vibrate at all, while 50ms works but is too long for my preference. My guess is that some devices have a specific minimum time.
So my question:
What is the lowest vibration duration which will work on every device?

I'd like to keep it vibrating without generating other sound, e.g. ringtone when someone calls you.
