I'm running rooted stock Android 14 on my Nothing 2 device, and I want to enable restricted settings for a couple of apps. I have searched on line about this, and everywhere I found info about this, we are always told to use the 3-dot "Hamburger menu" or the "More" settings on the page for the app within Settings=>Apps. However, there is never any "Hamburger menu" nor "More" setting that appears on any of the app pages that are available under Settings=>Apps on my device/OS combination. Is there an alternate way to enable restricted settings for given apps? ... perhaps via some sort of adb command? **UPDATE**: I just discovered that the same is also true on my rooted Stock Android 11 OnePlus 7Pro device: no "Hamburger menu" nor "More" setting for any app listed under the "Apps" section.

I upgraded from Galaxy Mega to Galaxy S6 Edge +. There is no menu button. In Galaxy Mega, part of the menu contains changing the settings of the countdown timer alarm. One setting I had was that I could **set my phone to vibrate while the countdown timer alarm rings when the countdown finishes.** So texts and notifications from apps make my phone only vibrate, but my countdown timer rings. In Galaxy S6 Edge +, it seems like my phone vibrates iff my countdown timer alarm vibrates. How can I allow the countdown timer to ring while my phone is set to vibrate mode? --- Galaxy mega has option in timer to change volume. The timer indeed goes off even when the phone is in vibrate. This does not seem to be allowed in s6e+ enter image description here enter image description here Click on picture for larger version Bounty note: I think there's something in sounds and notifications, but I can't seem to find it.

I'm referring to the menu that appears when you tap and hold on some text to select it. How do you change which options appear by default and which appear in the extra (. . .) menu? I have to translate text regularly, and Google Translate used to appear on the text selection menu without tapping into the extra options. As of a week ago, Google Translate has been moved to the extra options menu, and a regular Google search is in its old place, so it's an extra tap for me to translate text. I feel this is a system setting somewhere but cannot find anything about it. Thanks in advance!

I wonder whether there is a shortcut (or, alternatively, any quick way) to get you back to the current day (the one we're in in the month we're in in the year we're in) on Google Calendar. The quickest way I can think of is clicking on the square in the middle of the bottom part of the screen and flicking to where the date widget is on the desktop (if you clicked on it to open Google Calendar it will be the current page), memorizing the date, and returning to Google calendar, scrolling to the given date, while keeping it in mind. I wonder whether there's a quicker way. I thought, maybe, from the application menu there could be an entry for current date you could click on, but I couldn't find it (so maybe there is a more efficient way). Perhaps the best option is just minimizing the app and clicking back on the date on the desktop. Is this the best way to do it? Thank you for your help. Thank you for your answers. Thanks.

There is a button menu on the edge of my stock Pixel 5 / Android 13 screen that do nothing and are constantly in the way, but I can't figure out how to make it go away. Probably the same problem that is preventing them from launching an app is also preventing configuration. I don't know what these buttons are called, so I haven't been able to search the web for a solution. So here is a screenshot. The buttons are on the center-right edge of the screen: screen shot of buttons The buttons are the icons of apps I have installed. They show up not just on the home screen, but on every screen of every app. I can move the position of this menu around the screen by dragging it, but it is otherwise inert. Is this an add-on app that you recognize, that I might uninstall to make these go away? Thanks!

I'm working on a smart glasses project that is using an Intrinsyc Open-q 2500 SOM (connected to a custom breakout board) that utilises a Snapdragon processor, running a custom Android SDK (Oreo 8.1) made for smart watches. To navigate through the Android UI, as well as applications, we are hoping to use a IQS223 touch sensor chip, which will output high for a short period when a gesture is detected. E.g If a swipe forward is detected it will set pin1 (connected to GPIO1 of SOM) to high for 80ms, or if a TAP is detected it will set pin2 (connected to GPIO2 of SOM) to high for 80ms. I've read it is possible to connect navigate/control an application via an external keyboard. All interactive widgets are focusable, meaning that the selected widget is highlighted (via a glow or appearance change). Therefore, It seems I should be able to fire a keyboard event on detection of a GPIO input change, and use that event to trigger an action. E.g. on detection of a high input on GPIO1 I'd fire a "Enter" keypress event. My question is how would I go about doing this for the main Android UI (navigation of settings, selecting an app from main menu etc.)? i.e I want to set the main Android UI to be focusable (if possible) so I can navigate/control the device by simulating keypresses, which are fired when an input level changes on a certain GPIO pin. Is there an alternate method to achieving this?

How do I auto arrange icons in the app menu?
My device is a Samsung Galaxy Ace / Cooper. It's running on Froyo. I want to auto arrange icons in the app menu. Is there a way to do this? Like auto arrange alphabetically? Is there a built-in function for doing this? Or an app on the market for the same purpose?

After a while of searching with my google-fu, I have been unable to come up with a working solution, with the two things coming up is: - Check in your share menu - *If it was there then I wouldn't be looking for an answer* - There isn't any fix - *yet* **Objectives:** - Get Print share action working/shown in Google Chrome - Get Print share action working/shown in any share menu (when applicable) **(Un-)Usefull Info:** Android Version: 5.1.1 Device: Samsung xCover3 (SM-G388f) Chrome version (Stable): 55.0.2883.91 Chrome Flags Enabled(Chrome://flags): - #enable-media-document-download-button - #show-saved-copy - #enable-downloads-ui - #offline-pages-sharing - #enable-ntp-download-suggestions Imgur Album Illustrating my point: http://imgur.com/a/cCxza I believe the item disappeared front the share menu after rooting. I have then during that time and now reflashed the firmware and rest the device (for reasons not related to this). I can verify that printing works (I can print from Gmail, and the print APK is still enabled/installed. Hopefully I've given enough of a picture/details to help narrow down the cause of the problem, and hopefully we will be able to get a fix.

I am on Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, Model SM-T715Y, running Android Version 7.71.1-release.15, trying to follow the instructions from https://help.twitter.com/en/managing-your-account/managing-multiple-twitter-accounts to add a new account to my Twitter app. However I cannot find the "Add existing account" option as described. The top menu shows: "Share", "Drafts", "View Lists", "View Moments", "QR code" but nothing about accounts. There is no "down arrow" icon. The profile menu shows: "Profile", "Lists", "Bookmarks", "Moments", "Twitter Ads", "Settings and privacy", "Help Center". Clicking on "Settings and privacy" shows under my account: "Account", "Privacy and safety", "Notifications", "Content preferences" and under "General": "Display and sound", "Data usage", "Accessibility", "Proxy", "About Twitter". I don't see where else I could find that option.

I have Lenovo TAB4 10 Plus tablet with Android 7.1.1 and I'm unable to change settings for some very old application because of missing menu button for them. In Android 5 there was *floating menu button (with 3 vertical dots)*, and there was also a possibility (in general options of OS) to change the behavior of the task button - *long press on it opened the application menu*. But now there is no floating menu, no possibility to change the behavior of task button (nor home button, nor back button). I tried the long press / double tap on all three buttons (home, back, task) but without success. Is there some way to display menu for such old applications? **Edit:** It's not a duplicate of the question How does one use apps that place a menu on the system bar when the buttons are not in the screen? , because I tried using both answers in the question but without a success - neither recommended procedures, nor the recommended application Menu Button helped me. The last one created the (new) menu button, but it opened *Android settings*, not the active application's menu.
