My RCA Voyager Pro (Android 8.1.0) recently got a firmware update. Since the update, I have not been able to set a wallpaper without it "zooming in."
Take these screenshots for example. When I select the image I want to use as my wallpaper, it allows me to choose the orientation and zoom before clicking "✓ Set Wallpaper."
Before the update, the wallpaper would be set exactly as it looks in the preview. However, after the update, the wallpaper will become enlarged and will scroll as I swipe from right to left:
Here is a side-by-side comparison of how the wallpaper is the in preview (before the wallpaper is set), and how it is on home screen (after the wallpaper is set):
Is there a way I can disable this "auto-zooming?" I miss the way it used to be, where my wallpaper was the same on the home screen as it was in the preview, and did not "scroll" as I browsed my apps.

How to make the file explorer ask to choose a program when I click on a PDF file, possibly without uninstalling WPS Office?

Mi App has silently taken over everything related to documents in my Gmail and printing in general in my phone. Whenever I do any action that is "an inch close to printing) then Mi App appears.
I cannot change it [in the usual way](https://android.stackexchange.com/a/47300/20449) because my Motorola Moto One / Android 10 (One) claims that Mi App has no defaults defined and so there is nothing to clear:
This is super-duper annoying because right now I am even not able to preview a .docx or .pdf attachment sent alongside some email, because each such tap instead of showing document preview, opens up Mi App claiming that there is no printer added.
How it is possible that some app is making some "silent" takeover of some action, without clearly showing this fact in Android's or app's configuration? Even more important -- how to get rid of this and bring the default action (of documents previews) to my Gmail?
**EDIT**: _Since this is Android on board Motorola device, it should be very close to stack Android without any significant changes from Motorola side._

When I click on a link, it is always opened in a browser, even if I had installed the corresponding app. For example, YouTube, Reddit, etc.
In Settings -> Apps -> Configure apps -> Opening links -> YouTube, there is the option **Open supported links** set to **Open in this app** and **Supported links** are *youtu.be*, *m.youtube.com*, *youtube.com*, *www.youtube.com*. Nevertheless, YouTube links are still being opened in browser.
[This answer](https://android.stackexchange.com/a/67106) suggests installing [Open Link in App](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.snarfed.android.openinapp) , but I think that the system should handle this without any third-party app.
I am using a phone with Android 7.0.

I have PDF files in my Android, especially in Dropbox.
When I open a file, it's opened by the the Dropbox PDF Viewer. Once opened, there is an option, the button"Open with". If I open the the button, a little window opens with a choice of PDF apps, as Adobe Acrobat, CamScanner, Xiaomi PDF Viewer, etc. When I choose and app, I can click on 'just once' or 'remember this choice'. I'm not sure that I reproduced the accurate words. I'm accustomed to click 'just once'. But accidentally I clicked on Adobe Acrobat, remember this choice. So the PDFs went opened everytime with it. I want to reverse the process and get back the multiple choice. I tried to find a way through the app settings, but nowhere I'd find Adobe Acrobat as default settled. Can someone guide me how to get my old setting?
Note. My phone is a Xiaomi Poco F3.
Note: I tried this:
1. Apps
1. Manage Apps
1. (A vertical line of three points in the right upper corner of the screen)
1. Other settings
2. Default Apps
3. Opening links
4. To deactivate Adobe Acrobat reader.
But it's inefficient.
Can someone give me a solution?

I'm referring to the menu that appears when you tap and hold on some text to select it. How do you change which options appear by default and which appear in the extra (. . .) menu?
I have to translate text regularly, and Google Translate used to appear on the text selection menu without tapping into the extra options. As of a week ago, Google Translate has been moved to the extra options menu, and a regular Google search is in its old place, so it's an extra tap for me to translate text. I feel this is a system setting somewhere but cannot find anything about it.
Thanks in advance!

I had Nova Launcher installed and set as default. Yesterday I updated to Android 11. After the update there's a bit of mixup: mostly when I go back to the home screen, it presents the Nova Launcher as expected, but sometimes it drops me into the preinstalled launcher I stopped using long ago in favor of Nova.
Pressing the home button again pops up the Nova Launcher.

I tried to set Signal as the default SMS app on my Samsung Galaxy S23+ after I enabled the SMS permission, but for some reason, it won't let me or even make it show up on the default apps menu as an option.
Other new apps are not showing either, although IDrive is showing up as an option that I got a while back even if it's not an actual SMS app. Starting to think there may be something weird I did to my phone that is causing this.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have an old Android 9 (it's a Doogee Y9 Plus) device on which I would like to set Nova Launcher as the default home app, but there doesn't seem to be a way to set it through the device's settings.
Every guide I could find states that you can change your default home app under Settings > Apps & notifications > Default apps > Home app, yet "Home app" isn't an option in Default apps on this device.
When I navigate to either the device's default home app (which is called "Aurora Launcher") or Nova Launcher in the settings, "Home app" is there and is set to "Yes" and "No" respectively, but when I click on the option there, it takes me back to "Default apps" where the option doesn't exist.
My question is: Is there a way to bypass this and forcefully change the launcher? Btw, if possible, I'd like to force uninstall or at least disable the native launcher after the change. I've been finding things about ADB, but since I've never used ADB before, I want to know if there are some other ways and if not, how to use ADB to fix it.

I'm stuck though... I cannot find the default SMS packages and I don't know how to fix or make the new apps default apps. I mean, lock them in the system as the OEM/provider does.
All I can find now from OnePlus are:

package:com.simplemobiletools.smsmessenger
package:con.android.smspush
~: adb shell pm list packages | grep oneplus
package:com.oneplus.calculator

Is it possible to block SMS without setting an app as the default SMS app?

in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, is it possible to assign a default app to a file type that isn't listed yet? Specifically, I have *.notes for plain text notes, and *.md files for markdown. Windows is set to open them with my editor.
Is this possible in Android? So far, I can only assign default apps to file types that are already listed. Not to ones that aren't yet. From [here](https://android.stackexchange.com/q/14231/140680) etc., I find several different apps all called 'default app manager'. None of them seem to offer what I want.
Any suggestions?
