When choosing a background/wallpaper image that has a very different size ratio than that of my screen, Android will choose to expand my picture until its height matches that of the screen. In the process, the width gets expanded too, even beyond the screen width if necessary. That means that much of the image is missing (left and right of the center part, by default - but the portion that is visible can be changed). How can I prevent this from happening, or otherwise choose the zoom factor with which my image gets set ? PS. Android 11 on Samsung Galaxy A40

On S22, one needs to choose some wallpaper, there is no option None. Then I checked my old phone and a new tablet - same there. Then I checked all the questions here filtered by "android wallpaper" - and found nothing. Am I missing something, or is it really not possible to have "wallpaper: None" on Android? (just simple black screen background.) (I know I could use a black colored image as wallpaper, but is it such a "hack" the only solution?)

I downloaded a photo from facebook, and set it as the wallpaper on my phone, then decided I wanted to remove it again. The problem is, I have not yet been able to find a way to delete photos from the wallpaper and lock screen selection. I can understand that they might not want me deleting the stock ones, but it seems there is also no way to delete the ones I loaded. I am on the Oneplus 3T, if that makes any difference. Also, I deleted the photo from the downloads folder, but it still remains there as an option for a wallpaper or lock screen.

At first, my question was why I had to crop my wallpaper wider than it seemed to be, but I saw that that question was already asked and answered here: https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/39124/setting-wallpaper-wrong-orientation So now my question is, if wallpaper is cropped wide so that it can scroll when you switch between screens, how come mine doesn't move? I am using a picture I downloaded from the internet on my phone, and as far as I can tell it doesn't move at all no matter what I do. If it matters, my phone is a Motorola Atrix HD.

On Samsung devices, where does the OS save video file for the wallpaper?
I've noticed that even old Galaxy phones have this feature, that I can choose a video file to be a wallpaper. I think it works only for the lock screen for some reason. Does anyone know where the file is saved? Does it require a rooted device to reach it?

Wallpaper files in Google Drive backup

I'm in the process of switching from a Galaxy S20 to a Pixel 7 Pro. Both are running Android 13. I completed the data transfer, but my old wallpaper (a picture I took a long time ago which I really like) didn't transfer. I cannot find it in the wallpaper and style control on either phone, and I've tried looking everywhere in the data folder I can think of when the S20 is connected to my PC. This is a picture that I believe I had on a Galaxy S8 and it transferred to my Galaxy S20. I'm trading the S20 in and need to get it in the mail soon. I appreciate any help/advice you can give me.

I have two different images that I use for my wallpaper and my lock screen. These images are of my two oldest sons and have been used for wallpaper and lock screen for a long time. I just had another kid and it is time to update these images to include all three of my boys. Problem is that I cannot find the images and am afraid that if I update the wallpaper and lock screen images, then the current images will be lost forever. I can't lose these images forever. Can anyone tell me how to locate them so that I can copy them to a safe location. I have seen a couple of posts for older versions of Android but it does not seem to apply to Android 13. The path provided in these posts dose not exist on my phone (or tablet). Edit: It was suggested that I include device info. Here it is. Phone: Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Tablet: Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+

My RCA Voyager Pro (Android 8.1.0) recently got a firmware update. Since the update, I have not been able to set a wallpaper without it "zooming in." Take these screenshots for example. When I select the image I want to use as my wallpaper, it allows me to choose the orientation and zoom before clicking "✓ Set Wallpaper." enter image description here Before the update, the wallpaper would be set exactly as it looks in the preview. However, after the update, the wallpaper will become enlarged and will scroll as I swipe from right to left: enter image description here Here is a side-by-side comparison of how the wallpaper is the in preview (before the wallpaper is set), and how it is on home screen (after the wallpaper is set): enter image description here Is there a way I can disable this "auto-zooming?" I miss the way it used to be, where my wallpaper was the same on the home screen as it was in the preview, and did not "scroll" as I browsed my apps.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a TripAdvisor lock screen wallpaper that rotates images every X hours of places around the world. Every now and then, it has really cool ones that I would potentially like to save to use as my lock screen permanently, but I can't figure out where in the filesystem they are stored. I have found a couple of posts saying it is located in /data/data/com.android.settings/ or something like that, but my /data folder is empty. TL;DR: Where does Android save the current lock screen image?

I've set a scrolling wallpaper, but it only accepted 2/3 of the complete image. I've seen some google apps whose wallpapers are 16:9 aspect ratio and still don't overlap and move from extreme left to extreme right. So how can I do the same with my own wallpaper? And not only the app, If I apply a theme, the wallpaper in that theme also doesn't overlap and moves from extreme left to right. Refer these images to see what the app is capable of doing, and what happens when I try to do the same with my edited wallpaper. The app in talk is Wallpapers of The Witcher Using Redmi Note 5 Pro. Other specific details of the phone in screenshot included in the above imgur link. First time posting here. I've asked this question at 3 different sites with 0 response. I hope I'll get some answer here. I know what I want is possible as the apps are capable of doing so. Also, I found one question asked before with the same thing asking, but it isn't answered. Coincidentally, the previous asker wanted to apply the same wallpaper that I'm interested in. Thank you. PS: The art is not mine. It is from Deviantart artist astoralexander.

What dimensions should an image file have so that it will not be scaled when set as a wallpaper for the lockscreen or homescreen? This question is NOT the same as https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/2026/what-is-the-default-resolution-of-a-wallpaper-that-fits-the-homescreen-exactly-i . I only have a single home screen. I already tried the dimensions of the screen. That does not work since the image is zoomed in slightly, so that it can be zoomed out when pulling down the notifications menu. On my phone, the Nokia 5.4, the screen resolution is 720x1560. My best guess at the best wallpaper resolution is 792x1778, however that size is still not perfect.

Micromax Canvas 2 Colors with Android 4.4.2 is my first smartphone and I'm finding my way around slowly. I saw an image on a website of Google Chrome and I clicked on the image and pressed save image. I got a message saying image downloading. Later, I opened the image from the gallery, did some size changes as requested, then made it my wallpaper for the lock screen. However, I am unable to remove the image now from the lock screen and go back to the default image. Where is the image stored for me to go ahead and delete this image so that it goes back to the default option of the phone, when it allowed the default wallpaper in the screen and if I played an app called Saavan, it would put that albums image as the lock screen image automatically?
