If I connect it to my phone (Pixel7), in the Files app I can only see the SSD (and no, it's not the SD card that is improperly seated). Is this an Android restriction or a file manager restriction, and if the latter, are there file managers that will access both devices? I have seen [this question](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/90295/otg-is-it-possible-to-connect-two-devices) but that was 10 years ago....

I have two different images that I use for my wallpaper and my lock screen. These images are of my two oldest sons and have been used for wallpaper and lock screen for a long time. I just had another kid and it is time to update these images to include all three of my boys. Problem is that I cannot find the images and am afraid that if I update the wallpaper and lock screen images, then the current images will be lost forever. I can't lose these images forever. Can anyone tell me how to locate them so that I can copy them to a safe location. I have seen a couple of posts for older versions of Android but it does not seem to apply to Android 13. The path provided in these posts dose not exist on my phone (or tablet). Edit: It was suggested that I include device info. Here it is. Phone: Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Tablet: Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+

In the past and other Android TVs, I have written on external storage without this hassle. On Settings, I've granted "Storage" permissions to all the file managers. For example, CX Explorer showed an overlay window with information about the process to grant access to SD in a supposed next window, but no window was open to do these actions. Has Google imposed restrictions on writing on Android TV 10? What can I do?

I'd like to delete those files, as it turns out that I never needed them - always was in range of WiFi. Google Translate doesn't seem to provide an option to do this. I'd rather not remove my configuration (that's what I think would be the result of deleting all user data for Google Translate). How can I do this? I have a folder containing a large number of MP3 files. I want to export a list of all the filenames of files in that folder, so I can then send it by email, etc. This can be achieved either by copying the list to the clipboard or saving it to a text file. A couple of very crude suggestions come to mind: * I could try connecting via USB to my (Windows) computer and running dir > listing.txt at a command prompt * Install Terminal Emulator/IDE and run ls > listing.txt However, I tend to think there must be a better way to do this. Does anyone know of an app which has a feature to do this, for example? (Preferably, the solution should not involve connecting from a PC, although it could do.) **NOTE**: Most of the MP3 files do not have correct ID3s. So I'm really after the filenames as opposed to any way of exporting the media information.

For various reasons, I often end up pulling photos of my phones by connecting the USB connection to a computer and extracting what I need. The problem I am facing is that my DCIM/100ANDRO folder is now **huge**, and simply loading the full list of files takes considerable time. Is there some way (ideally in basic Android 7.1.1, but additional apps are acceptable) to sort these in to separate folders possibly by month of taking or similar. Onus points if this happens dynamically as photos are taken. I'd also be interested in alternatives to the USB -> browse device options, but I'd want something that does full resolution, doesn't upload to an internet location first, and doesn't require bluetooth.

[MX Player](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.pro) is able to play .gif files, but does not populate its list views (i.e., internal file explorer) with them, even when explicitly defined as an extension through the relevant settings page (it accepts the change and refreshes with no error message, but nothing new loads on the front end and going back in reveals the added entry does not persist). The only way to play them is by opening through another app as video, and then selecting MX Player. I've reached out to the dev team but they have advised that as far as they are concerned, this behavior is in line with their expectations according to their categorical interpretation of the .gif file extension not qualifying as a "video" media file container (a distinction I fail to comprehend, much less concur with). In any case, I'd like to see if there's any method to take matters into my own hands, e.g., any .cfg files or similar preference store that can be modified directly to "force" persistent recognition and enumeration of the file extension?

I have just received a video from a customer, via Whatsapp, and I'd like to download it. There was no automatic download, configured on my Whatsapp, and now, even after having configured it, this has not performed the download. The video is quite large, and forwarding it to mail or teams is also not an option. When I start the "Samsung My Files" app, I arrive inside some subdirectory I can't get out of. So, basically: 1. How can I download a video from a Whatsapp on my smartphone? 2. When downloaded on my smartphone, where is it? 3. When plugging my smartphone into my PC, I don't see my smartphone. How to configure that? I'm working with a Samsung Galaxy A51 Thanks in advance

How can I select a range of files in Android? I'm trying to use Amaze File Manager to create a compressed archive of ~200 files in a directory of ~2,000 files. All the files I want to select are in one continuous sequence. In my Linux file manager (e.g. Thunar or Nautilus), I would simply select the first file, hold the Shift key, and select the last file. That's two clicks and one key press. In my Android file manager (Amaze), I have to tap 200 times. Is there any way in Android that will let me select N continuous files with less than 5 taps (for apps, preferably open-source)?

How to make Fairphone built-in file manager remember the "move to" location?
Is there any way to make the built-in/factory-installed file manager on a Fairphone 3 remember the last target location I chose when I marked one or multiple files with a longer finger press and chose "move to"? I guess it's called "move to", my Android is not in English. I'm using Android 13.
