So I wanted to see if someone can read log files and tell me if my device seems hacked,cloned or remote accessed or rooted I know nothing about this stuff but it seems like my log files don't look right

I have galaxy J7 and lineageOS 17.1. When I send a file with KDE connect from my phone to another device (another phone or a laptop) I am successfull, but in reverse not. For example when I try to send a file with KDE connect from my laptop to my phone a notification appears saying "failed receiving file from ...".

I've noticed that the files of my Android phone are showing the wrong time and date. I have made a folder "New folder" and the folder was created on 3/13/21, 12:23 PM. I renamed the folder to "New renamed folder" and the folder is showing that it was created on 3/13/21, 12:23 PM. But it should be 3/13/21, 12:32 PM. It said it was last modified on 3/13/21, 12:23 PM. But it should be last modified on 3/13/21, 12:32 PM. Anyone can help me to solve this problem?

I have a file on my phone, I think it's an audio file if that matters, that gives me a pop-up 'You don't have any apps that can open this type of file. Search Play Store.' I've tried a large number of apps trying to get this open and haven't managed to open it yet. Can anyone please direct me on how to go about opening it by any chance?

Where in the file system are SMS messages stored? I'm using ES File Explorer to browse around but can't seem to find this - is it on the phone or the SD, and where? I have an HTC Wildfire but I would imagine it doesn't vary hugely from vendor to vendor (although I am an iOS developer who knows little about Android).

I have an offline saved htm web page on sdcard to test Javascript. The default render on my phone seems to be HTML Viewer. But when I tried to open the page, the code didn't run. I know this because there's some html tag in the page I was added to detect this: /* my Javascripts */ The current browser can't run Javascript. which displays on the page: "The current browser can't run Javascript." So how can I enable Javascript in HTML Viewer? Both Opera and Browser are somehow can't found out the file when I typed in the address textbox: file://localhost/sdcard/page.htm The problem exist on almost any phone. But the later just works on some of my phone. Another not.

I have an Infinix Note 12 (X670) running Android 13. Starting a few weeks ago, I could no longer see downloaded files in the /data/org.telegram.messenger/files directory. Where are downloaded files from Telegram being saved? Or, how can I view them again?

I am looking for a method to perform advanced searches (boolean, wildcards, close matches, words within certain distance, etc) for text strings inside text-type documents stored in one or more folders and subfolders in the Android file system, without root. I would prefer to do this with the operating system's tools, but am willing to consider an app if necessary.

I was wondering whether I could replace the file manager that comes with my phone with a 3rd-party app in a way that any app that needs file access, goes through the 3rd-party app to find the appropriate file. The OP stated as well 'he deleted the whole directory' but not specified if using SD Maid or PC. We have the same scenario where I redownloaded the same file, and after copying it to the exact location where I'm having an issue, it made two identical files and what I tried so far: 1. Highlighted both items and deleted them using SD Maid, it says success but after a refresh, it retains the other file with 0 bytes. 2. Connected my phone to PC as MTP and tried to delete it from there. What I noticed is it only shows one file, unlike looking in any Android file manager. It says success but checking it again on the phone it retains still the file with 0 bytes. 3. Tried apps in Play Store that says secure delete that uses a different algorithm but still, after it says yes, the same scenario occurs above. 4. Perform wipe cache partition in the stock recovery. 5. Clear data and cache of stock file manager. I know my last resort would be a complete factory reset, but is there any other way?

I routinely need to save files I download or receive via email or instant messaging to a specific folder on my device. Currently, the quickest way to do this is to share the file, choose my file manager app (Cx File Explorer), and then navigate to the desired folder. I wish I could pin a "Share to folder X" option directly to my share menu. I've tried multiple file managers but haven't found one that supports this functionality. Any suggestions? I'm using Pixel 9.

When I wanted to copy some photos and videos from my Samsung Galaxy S to my PC, I noticed that inside the photos folder (DCIM\Camera), there are a lot of files with the extension dup0. They have the same filename as the photos/movies (e.g., img1.jpg and img1.dup0), but not for every photo does a dup0 file exist. The dup0 files are quite small for photos (e.g., photos are about 1.5 MB, dup0 files about 50 kB), but for movies, they can be quite large (e.g., 16 MB for an 18 MB movie). What are these files for? Can they be deleted to free some space?

Files created/downloaded in Termux and placed in storage/downloads is invisible to Slack until the whole phone is rebooted, or so it seems. On the flip side, files created/downloaded in Slack is immediately visible in Termux. Is there any way to make the files visible to Slack without a reboot? I've noticed that even old Galaxy phones have this feature, that I can choose a video file to be a wallpaper. I think it works only for the lock screen for some reason. Does anyone know where the file is saved? Does it require a rooted device to reach it?

I'm not sure if this is a problem with my unzip tool or not, but I'm looking into the APK file structure and I see a file called AndroidManifest.xml. Inside that file, there is no XML. It actually looks like a binary dump. What does this file do, and should it look like this? I had an image from a website which I set as my wallpaper inside the browser. I am wondering now where I can find the image in the file system, because I can't find it online anymore. I am rooted.

I'm using Android 6. I'm trying to copy a file from /storage/emulated/0/test.txt to /cache/SH_DIR/ via an Android user application, and I'm getting the following error: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /cache/SH_DIR/test.txt: open failed: EACCES (Permission denied) When I build the application as a system application (included as part of AOSP), I'm able to copy the file to /cache/SH_DIR/. Do I need to modify the SEpolicy to allow a user application to copy files to /cache/SH_DIR/? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Pixel 6. I used the built-in Recorder app. My wifi is currently disabled, and I don't want to enable it, and I don't want my audio recording synched to the cloud. I plugged my phone into my PC via USB but when browsing the folders of files can't find the audio clip. Where / how can I find the audio file?

I have .ZIP files appearing on my Android 11 phone on their own. I don't know why they're there, and I don't know where they're coming from. Their located under Google, Download cache. 24 files named as follows: soda-en-US-v1001-1.zip All file names are the same except for the number at the end. All files are 50.05mb. If I try to open them, it says "unable to open archive. File is either corrupt or an unsupported format." I didn't create these files, nor have I downloaded anything. Why are these files being created on their own?

Here's my situation: I have a Sprint Samsung Nexus S 4g. It is rooted, unlocked, and loaded with CyanogenMod 10.1. I am attaching it to a Windows 8 machine via USB cable. Recently, the phone went into a boot loop, and thus I can only do anything with it in recovery mode. I'm trying to transfer the stock ROM to the phone for loading. I follow these steps 1. I boot into Recovery mode 2. I go to Mounts and Storage 3. I mount the USB card 4. In Windows, I open up the phone in explorer, and copy the update.zip file to the root of what is now the G: Drive on my phone. 5. I try to load the ZIP file for processing. Recovery says "Can't open file /sdcard/update.zip" 6. I reboot into recovery again to 'refresh' things. At this point, the file that I loaded is gone! It's not on the SD Card anymore. I can't find it via Recovery mode, and if I remount the USB disk, it's not visible in Windows either. Weird, huh? One other thing to note: I've wiped and reformatted everything I can via Recovery (Cache, system, data, Dalvik, everything) and yet when the phone occasionally manages to boot all the way to the OS, I can still see my wall paper. How can I get the files I copy over to actually stay on the phone? Any ideas on what is going on? I just want to wipe this phone and start over, but I can't seem to make that happen. Thanks. More: Okay, I formatted and wiped everything that I could. And now the phone only boots to fastboot mode. I mount the USB card, move a ZIP over, and double check it in Windows. I can open the file on the phone. But when I unmount the USB card (I have no choice), the ZIP is there, but the phone won't read it. It says "Can't open (bad)". This is trying with CM9.1 and I'm 100% sure it is the right version for my phone (crespo4G)
