This is the same to this question: https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/57844/cant-delete-file-in-download-folder But for me, the answer is not clear, as per the OP's answer 'he turned on the SD Maid app' but did not state what option in SD Maid resolved the issue. The OP stated as well 'he deleted the whole directory' but not specified if using SD Maid or PC. We have the same scenario where I redownloaded the same file, and after copying it to the exact location where I'm having an issue, it made two identical files and what I tried so far: 1. Highlighted both items and deleted them using SD Maid, it says success but after a refresh, it retains the other file with 0 bytes. 2. Connected my phone to PC as MTP and tried to delete it from there. What I noticed is it only shows one file, unlike looking in any Android file manager. It says success but checking it again on the phone it retains still the file with 0 bytes. 3. Tried apps in Play Store that says secure delete that uses a different algorithm but still, after it says yes, the same scenario occurs above. 4. Perform wipe cache partition in the stock recovery. 5. Clear data and cache of stock file manager. I know my last resort would be a complete factory reset, but is there any other way?

I can't find the GPS settings on the ZenFone 5 (ZE620KL), on Android 9. I am specifically interested in the location mode, with 3 different values (high accuracy, battery saving, device only). Asus has rolled out Android 9 to ZenFone 5. I don't have a Security & Location entry in the Settings menu. Here is what my Settings menu looks like and once in Security & lock screen: Image Image (source: [digitaltrends.com](https://icdn9.digitaltrends.com/image/digitaltrends/asus_zenfone_5z_notch_1-1080x2246.jpg)) I can't find where to choose the location mode. All I have is an ON/OFF switch.

I have a problem with my asus zenfone 5 (root). I think it's hard bricked. I will explain better, yesterday I did a restore to "clean" the system, while restoring freezes, then I try to boot into recovery mode. I long ago, installed a custom recovery, the fact is that by inserting the recovery.img and trying to start it from the custom recovery. I get errors and does not install, so start in droidboot mode to adjust all manualmente by pc (GNU / linux), with fastboot flash recovery.img, but when I have to do the last step described by driving mistake.
Now I do not have a chance to get more in recovery mode, in fact, when I press power + vol appears the Android logo with red exclamation point, if I try to start it normally there is a loading of the asus logo with the infinite wheel, but when there is asus adb logo detects it, it just says chen is not "authorized", the phone has to be thrown away? There are hardware / software solutions ?
thank you so much

The phone doesn't connect to a PC (it's not recognized) and OTG doesn't work either. In Settings, it shows that the phone is charging on USB even when it's charging on AC. It happens in safe mode too. What can be the issue? Can a faulty micro-USB port cause this?

How can I change the default dialer app in Asus zenfone 5. I tried Settings → Apps → All, then selecting the phone app. There was a Clear defaults button which was greyed out. Do I have to get root access to change it? The purpose of it is to automate a conference call using uiautomator and adb shell. For this reason we are supposed to have a same UI for all devices so that we can automate it easily. But right now, even when I call with Truedialer I get this default screen that I used earlier. The resourceid is *com.asus.asusincallui:id/holdButton*. (Click image to enlarge) <img src=" class="img-fluid rounded" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto; margin: 10px 0;" loading="lazy">

My Android phone runs 8.1, model ASUS Zenfone Live V. I have 15.06 GB/16 of internal storage and roughly 11/128 on an microSD card. (I checked with ASUS when I bought it, it is the max storage and speed the phone could support.) Despite indicating more free space available, the phone has exhibited a number of weird behaviors lately. -Camera refused to take pictures, stating Operation failed. Insert a storage card and try again. The microSD was never removed from device. - Google Drive refused to download files to my device. Said it could not write to device. -A few weeks ago a significant number of apps mysteriously stopped functioning and would crash immediately on open. After painstakingly wiping cache and data from Google Play, rebooting and reinstalling I got most of them back. A few still refused to install. One app I tried to install since then has "installed" successfully but has now begun exhibiting the same error message. App (DiskUsage) keeps stopping whenever you try to open it, and had had no luck opening so far. I am guessing it has a problem being unable to read or write files that is preventing it from opening. All things point to a storage problem. Advice?
