Every since my Galaxy S4 phone was upgraded to Android 4.3 (Verizon), I have had a problem disabling the swipe lock screen.
I go to
Settings -> My Device -> Lock Screen -> Screen Lock
:
- If I set the option to 'Swipe', I get the swipe lock screen, as expected.
- If I set the option to 'None', I **still** get the swipe lock screen.
- If I set the option to 'PIN', I get the swipe lock screen **and** the PIN lock screen. (It is annoying to unlock the phone, and more so when I receive a call.)
I test this by using the power key.
Is there a bug in the software or is there no legitimate way to disable the very annoying swipe lock / swipe lock screen?
Is there a 3rd party way to allow a PIN lock without having a swipe lock as well?

I have a Galaxy S3 I9300 from Telcel, Mexico running CyanogenMod 10.2.0, upgraded from 10.1.3 with the upgrade feature and using TWRP for this purpose. I am unable to download anything from the Play Store, the store loads but the apps won't download. I have flashed the gapps-20130813 package, cleared data and uninstalled updates from Play Store and Google Play Services, and it won't download yet. After googling around, I already cleared data on Google Play, Google Framework and Google Play Services, every single cache with Titanium Backup, cleaned up Dalvik cache, and removed and re-added my Google account. Still no luck.
I also noticed the download notification briefly appearing for a split second when I tap Download on Google Play.
Is there anything I can't do? I don't want to go through the hassle of backing everything up, deleting the entire data partition and restoring everything.

It used to be possible, a few Android updates back (can't remember which Android version), but not any more it seems, at least not out of the box.
I've tried the stock Clock app, Ovo Timer and Timer (by Opoloo). In all three cases alarm signals are only played as expected while not making a phone call.

I am trying to figure out if there is a method of installing Xposed framework on **stock ROM** without custom recovery (e.g CWM or TWRP). The conventional method that I am well familiar with is installing the framework via Xposed app on a rooted device.
I researched a bit and most workarounds were promising although not successful:
According to this source , the method involves setting the system partition writable then pushing the necessary files via
adb
commands however fails with Permission denied
errors. I suspect bootloader issues (which seems to be locked) here but not very sure.
The other way, described here doesn't need custom recovery. This involves installing a third party application (FlashFire) to flashed unsigned .zip
but unfortunately seems to require root (from description).
The last one involves using new systemless xposed framework but the problem is that it supports android 5+ versions.
So is there any convenient way of installing xposed framework on **stock recovery without root**?
**Edit**
Following important discussions raised in comments, I guess I have to explain why I want to bypass root-based installation procedure, it's because the device in use is not rooted, so I need to use a non root installation mrthod.
Contrary to the comments however, some users have used Xposed without **root**:
> **Xposed only needs root access when you install** it, then everything
> else is completely transparent to the user because the framework acts
> as a **separate conduit** to the system -- it doesn't go through the usual
> SU channels
Also the device is running Android 4.3 stock

Starting last week, my HTC One running ARHD 31.5 keeps forgetting the default launcher. Every few minutes, it will forget the setting and ask me for a launcher when I hit the home button.
So far, I haven't found a pattern yet. Here's what I've tried so far:
- restarting the phone
- removing the default setting via
Settings > Apps
and setting it fresh
- tried different launchers to rule out the launcher deleting the settings
- updating the ROM (seriously)
It happens both when the phone is locked, or when I keep it unlocked and basically not doing anything but keeping the screen alive. After a few minutes, the default will be gone.
Any ideas how to debug this are welcome.

I need to gather log info for QA testing. The settings menu "Bug Report" and the power menu "Bug Report" functions don't work for me on my Nexus 7 running Jellybean 4.3 (don't know if it ever worked because I just found out about the function). I get a popup saying "this will take a while..." and after that nothing. Scanning the file system, I don't see anything that looks like a screen capture, and no mail is sent out.
(I can't get the magic {power/sound up/sound down} button combo to work either). The only way I can collect app logging info is by tethering the nexus 7 and using ADB.
Any idea how to get the new bug report mechanism working or why it's not working would be appreciated.

I read all other questions of "Insufficient storage available" but none of solution works for me.
I have Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300). I have 5GB free space on internal memory.
A couple days ago WhatsApp and Viber were gone (In the application manager instead WhatsApp I saw com.whatsapp.. same for viber- saw the package name and the two apps's size is 0)
I tried the following solutions:
1. Clear cache of google play store, services, and also clear updates of those apps.
2. Got root access and delete com.whatsapp-2 folder from /data/app-lib as described at XDA
3. wipe cache partiotion via recovery
4. clear dalvik cache
5. Download manually the apk from whatsapp.com and not from Google Play
6. Backup WhatsApp from other device and restore with titanium backup to my device -same error...
7. change default install location with pm set-install-location to 0 then 1 then 2. none worked.
8. Deleted cache of all other apps in the device.
I can install any other application from Play store, just viber and whatsapp causes the "Insufficient storage available" error.
I don't want to do factory reset.
Could you help me and suggest another solution, please?
